Not the modder, but from poking around on the github linked below, it looks like the github houses the latest version (some edits made as recently as last month). They also have info about requirements and the changelog was informative (basically, it's now a CP mod rather than requiring TMX and PYTK, which is great to hear Just kidding, they plan on doing this).
I was able to download it by going here, clicking on the green "code" button in the top right-ish corner, choosing download zip (and then unzipping and removing the unnecessary files other than the main mod) and putting that in my mod file. There's probably an easier way, but I have a hard time navigating github.
Definitely a lot more steps than a normal Nexus download, but if you want to, it's possible to get your hands on it!

Typically though, this would be considered a beta. An alpha is generally private, mainly tested by developers/QA/etc. Beta is when you have actual users come and test it. Since it's published on Nexus here, it'd usually be considered at least in beta. That's all, just wanted to share my knowledge here and hope you appreciate it :)
This mod was updated on Github about 8 months ago so it does work with the 1.6 update. I don't know if it works with the recent patch though. Here is the link if your interested.

before that it was all fine. It happened when I choose to go to the new spot at the bus stop. The screen shows "loading" and it will be forever that way. I wonder which mod caused the problem (maybe it's pytk or TMXL? seems that the game failed to load the map) and if there is any version of pytk and TMXL that can makes fishing valley works well. I'm using unoffcial TMXL now because the nexus TMXL causes errors when I enter the game. I'll appreciate if you can give me some help! The fishes are really brilliant and I'll be very happy If I'm lucky enough to have them, which I'm not now :P

Because the mod is still in alpha we did not publish any update here on nexusmods. We do not use TMXL or PyTK anymore.

Thanks a lot! Too busy to make a reply these days. I have installed the right requirement mods and now it works perfectly! It seems if I have TMXL at the same time, it will cause a problem when I use the bus stop (just as my previous comment mentioned). However, when I delete TMXL, it works fine. Such brilliant work and fantastic ideas, sooooo excited! Just several points in case you need information:
1- Sometime smapi says "cant load CustomFungusShop, and if you save before that point the items could be missing"( can't remember what smapi exactly says, my repeat is inaccurate and I'll try to get a smapi.io if you need), I guess the shop is still in progress. I got this error occasionally but it won't cause problems in the game. 2- The music in the new areas seems to have pauses...? All of a sudden (maybe several minutes after you entered the scene) the bgm disappeared, and it appeared again after a while. I don't know this is by design or due to some other reasons. 3- Jungle RogerBay is not a location where I can fish now(can't throw the fish rod into the water), but I think the reason is that it is still in progress.(I use Lookup anything to ensure that it is Jungle Roger Bay)
Anyway, the mod is full of fancy ideas and ingenious details. The music really gives me a shock because they are so elegant and help to form a mysterious atmosphere. Honestly, I love some of them more than the vanilla music (sorry concernedape lol)
If I must raise some suggestions, I hope a NPC can be added to the scene. Sometimes I wait at the bus stop until 10:30 am, and find Pam strolling to the Ginger island for a vacation! That's really embarrassing. I have installed a mod, Teleport to NPC Github link , which allows me to transport to any locations with a NPC. In that way I escape the limitaion of commute time. I can't apply to fishing valley now because there isn't a actual NPC. And maybe someday it can use together with Visible fish nexus link , but this is only a suggestion.

Heyy, is this still being worked on? It looks cool. I think to improve this you could make it more alive by adding npcs or even using custom companions so it looks like they are wandering around the place. I would also suggest trying to make some of your own buildings so they look more unique. I think also adding animated sprites would be cool and maybe you could contalk Stardew Aquarium's athuor and possibly get some of your fish added.
Thanks for your work keeping this updated. Might consider looking at a patch for East Scarp, as they also use JsonAssets to add a "Golden Trout" item. Don't know yet what this might do to my game, but I'm running both currently. Will let you know if I encounter any issues.

I would like to see original assets being utilized, eventually, instead of recycling/reusing ones from the core games (such as for the shop), if that is possible. just seems weird to have the bird shopkeeper which is a sort of a novelty feature of the island, here as well. But that's something to think of for future, perhaps?
Yeah I had originally planned doing custom sprites for NPCs, as the fishing grounds are empty of fishermen, I thought the parrot vendor fitted the jungle theme. Making my own vendor will give me an excuse to try my hand at portraits. Thanks for the feedback !
I'm not sure the authors of the aquarium mod will like making tanks for a billion different fish, the alpha alone adds over 50 fishables, I would expect the number to almost triple in the final release, as there are still 2 zones to make.
Fish seem to be his thing, he's made fish from SVE, Ridgeside, Lunna, and More New Fish compatible so there might be a chance!
Even if compatibility never happens I'm still really excited about your mod, it seems super cool! It's super impressive for only your second mod ever dude.
Well, you can add these fishables to the collection, just not showing in tanks. But they still show up in the collection tab for the Aquarium. I am sure the SA author would add new tanks once this mod gets out of alpha.
