SDV 1.6.9 has released and with it comes the newest version of SMAPI. Meaning that FINALLY, my mod can be updated!
With this update, my mod is not only compatible with the newest version of the game, but I am able to use Content Patcher's priority system. This means that (in theory) my mod should no longer be overridden by other mods that edit the same sprites!
Let me know if any complications or problems pop up!
To clear up any confusion, the Optional Patches are optional files that modify their respective mods. They are intended to be used by people who want the NPCs at the Flower Dance to have proper attire, but can't / don't want to use an outfit mod like SVO or SO-SCA as they are normally supposed to be used.
A couple things I want to emphasize:
My patches do not do anything on their own, they are meant to simply limit what SVO or SO-SCA do.
Using one of my optional patches with SVO or SO-SCA will make them only work during the Flower Dance.
The patches shouldn't be used if you want to use SVO or SO-SCA as they are meant to be used (aka to make the NPCs have seasonal and event based attire).
ONLY USE ONE OUTFIT MOD & PATCH. Don't use both SVO & SO-SCA and their patches. This will result in them overriding one another. Just use one outfit mod and its one patch.
You can go to the "NPC Outfits" section of my mod's description page for more details on how to use the patch.
I've had this too, despite my attempts to get it to play nice with SCA using the compatibility notes. To make matters worse, if you try using other clothes to compensate, those clothes disappear after the dance is over, never to be seen again.
(I use the outfit sets mod, so I had the bridal clothes in reserve.. yeah, that was a day reset )
Also, the animations were weird. My farmer went through the milking and harp animations.. dunno if I'm doing somethig wrong or what.. :-/
Just wanna ask if im just dumb or if its something w the mod. i downloaded it and wanted to change my outfit from dress to suit, but theres no such option in the generic menu mod or in the config, the only thing that shows is the attire removal, and thats it. Im just wondering if its a me problem and if something didnt get downloaded proberly or if its a bug.
First of all, thank you for the wonderful mod!! It's great finally being able to dress & dance like the other women ❤️
I did have an issue with the flower dance, though. It seemed like the dialogue for vanilla characters was affected. They all had regular non-event dialogue (except for Eleanor, weirdly!). The modded characters from Ridgeside and SVE were not affected; they all had flower dance dialogue.
I'm not sure if the issue is from your mod, but I can't recall ever having this issue before downloading this. I'm also not super tech-savvy so I'm not sure if something else could be causing it, this was just the first I thought of since it changes the flower dance a bit. 😅 Here is my SMAPI log (https://smapi.io/log/b7833e2ccfdf441cbb7d861cc0f31b13).
Either way, I still love the mod! Thank you again!! Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤️
Does this mod also allow NPC's to ask you the player to dance at the flower dance rather than you asking them to do so? And if not it would be nice to see it in a future update
Sorry but my mod doesn't do that and I don't have any plans on implementing such a feature (it doesn't really match the general idea for this mod). But that's definitely an interesting idea!
It's not actually my idea but another mod creator's but they haven't updated the mod in a long time so it doesn't work in Stardew Valley anymore if I could update it myself I would but I don't know how so I thought well this mod is similar in the fact it's based around the flower dance maybe the mod creator would like to implement it in their mod, but it's completely understandable that you don't have plans on doing so I just thought i'd ask in the case you would be interested

TL;DR:
If you don't use "Seasonal Villager Outfits" or "Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic", but want the NPCs to wear proper attire, download one of them and have my optional patch for that mod override it.
If you use "Seasonal Villager Outfits" or "Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic", then don't download the patch.
