Sometimes when I playing games , and dissatisfied with my progress. I choose exit to title and reload my savegame to restart this day. I found all specialorder quests reward will calc twice after reloading. I think you may need a flag to avoid this calculation.
love this mod for all its profit margin-relation quest income customisation! One thing I noticed though (maybe it's just me): I've been able to get quests from the "Help Board" on Pierre's to change in profitability. However, quests that I get through the mail (ie: inevitable quests you'll get pretty well every playthrough whether you like it or not) won't change, and stay consistent with the game's overall profitability setting. Ex: game profitability = 25%, Hot Pepper for George's Knee quest you receive in the mail, will always pay 200GP, despite what I do in the mod's config file. (note: I've noticed the amount you receive for these kinds of quests don't seem to scale exactly with the profit margin. Ex: 25%profit-margin, 200GP reward George's hot pepper quest. 100% profit margin, 550GP reward for George's hot pepper quest.)
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. I'd love to have more control over these figures! :) thanks so much for this mod. It's rad.
Hello! Sorry for the late response. I'm glad you like the mod :)
Those fixed quests work differently than the dynamic ones. They can be altered using Content Patcher. The file in question would be Content/Data/Quests.xnb and its localized variants (so Quests.de-DE.xnb for example)
I think I didn't adjust it via this mod because the amount to gain is much more limited compared to the regular billboard quests.
thanks I'm playing with 0.5 profit margin and thought the quests were giving too much money in relation to everything else, good for keeping the challenge across the board
Was trying to use this, and SMAPI does show it loads properly (no yellow/red errors), but when I go to use the commands of UseProfitMargin or CustomQuestMargin, they both say in the console that they're unknown commands. I can't find the mod listed when typing help either. Any ideas? I'd love to use this mod.
Those aren't commands, these are settings that you find in the config.json in the mod folder. That file is created when running the game with the mod installed for the first time.
I think that's out of scope for this mod. Or I would need to change the name, were I to implement it in the future. For now, I opened the suggestion on the "mod-ideas" repository on GitHub for fellow modders to take a look. https://github.com/StardewModders/mod-ideas/issues/614
