I am working on rewriting this entire mod. I haven't really been in the modding scene for about 3 years, so please bear with me as I relearn nearly everything! It may take me a little while!
You can still use the mod with the new update, but you will have to spawn your starters into the game.
It's great that you want to come back and update to 1.6! Thank you for your work! This is one of my favorite mods, and I really enjoy growing a lot of grapes in the game, harvesting them, and using them (speaking of which, I'm also very interested in your projected future updates! But please don't wear yourself out, I don't mean to pressure you, I just love this mod!) I even created an FTM content pack for it (just for my own use) because I really like the feeling of picking them up from all sorts of places!
I can't buy any of the grapes from Pierre's, they don't show up in the list (on 1.6). I can however spawn the grape starters using cheats, so they are in the game and working. Any ideas?
This mod relies on Shop Tile Framework mod for selling seeds in shops, which is an obsolete mod as of 1.6. The author will have to update the mod to use the new shop framework that's been incorporated into 1.6, afaik.
Thank you so much for adding this mod of the world of Stardew. Being able to be a proper winemaker has always given me much joy (also a sucker for Zinfandel IRL so why not have a hoard of it digitally)
So glad you are deciding to keep tabs on this mod, it's a staple for me :)
Love it so far, I wish there was more description however. Where do you get all the different grapes? I've only seen them at Pierre's and there are only 10 varieties.
i love the mod, but the problem is that the grapes themselves sell for so much. Since they're multicrop, you can make 40k each harvest with only 80 or so plants. But if you reduce the price, they wont be worth turning into wine, due to the wine formula. maybe making the crops more expensive would help? say, 300 gold per.
Thank you for the advice!! I've been so stumped on how to handle the prices. It's either too high causing a game imbalance and makes decent wine, or too low and wine is useless. I'll update the prices so the crop is more and see how that fairs with everyone!
A lot of mods lock their produce by year, like the Red Cabbage seeds, as well as by season, so consider making some or all of them available only after year 2 or 3.
I also know a few mods that make their seeds available only through friendship points with various villagers, just like food recipes.
Grapes of Ferngill balances its grapes by making some of them craftable, meaning you can't just put them into a seed maker to get more. In order to get more, you have to forage them in specific locations and then craft them using driftwood and Deluxe Retaining soil (recipe is available only on Ginger Island in vanilla).
That mod also lowers the chance of you getting seeds from the seed maker for the grapes you can put in there. There is one that has only a 75% chance of producing a seed, the other 25% chance will get you a rotten plant instead. It works-- I had a bad luck day and went through 20 grapes just to get 10 extra seeds.
Both Grapes of Ferngill and Ancient Crops lock their crops until you grow and ship enough of certain crops. GoF also makes certain grapes varieties dependent on you selling a certain amount of grapes AND their wine.
Just some examples for inspiration just in case you want to be more creative than going the monetary route.
If you would like some help or advise on rebalancing please let me know, i'll be happy to help considering your mod inspired mine :D
Also, shameless plug here but I have a compatibility patch for Stardew Vineyard that gives them a seasonal makeover and allows them to be used to creat my Wine Products if your interested :p
Oh my goodness!! I didn't know my mod inspired yours!! That's amazing!
I'd definitely love your help and am interested in the compatibility patch! I must work on this mod! It's like life just keep happening and I keep forgetting to update things.

I was able to make functioning wines from your awesome collection of new grapes. Can we collaborate to make icons? I was using place holder ones for now, but if your cool with it, I'd be happy to upload my files for your approval.
First I was shocked by the 21 new kinds of grape, but turns out that you really can't count on them to make you some real coins, their wines are sold so cheap… And take quite a long time to brewed
When I first released this, a few people complained that they were over producing and a money crop. 😂 I guess I need to do a few more adjustments! I'll take a look at it this weekend and see if I can make some simple changes!
