Hi, I uploaded this update yesterday for 1.6, but I was told it was not allowed without permission and the admins deleted it and my comment. I would like to apologize to the original author and hope that people who downloaded it will not spread it again. Thanks.
It may be because I modified this original mod but VPR just added another patch for that mod. Just adding the patch may not fix the problem of this mod.
Temp fixes are fine, IF the permissions in the original mod allow it. It is very, very important to read permissions and respect the original mod author's wishes. You can and will get your mods taken down if you don't. With the VPR fix, the author only adds in new tilesheets that came with 1.6, and the original VPR mod is still required. The unofficial update doesn't actually take and change any of the original VPR mod.
Another example is I uploaded a 1.6 unofficial update for Simple Foliage, but I was only able to do this because itsannette allows full use of their assets and explicitly states that people can reupload for fixing purposes. It was the very first thing I checked before I began working on it. As a mod author myself, I would never want someone taking my content without asking me, for any reason whatsoever.
Someone else (not OP of this thread) also uploaded another 1.6 version of Foliage Redone yesterday but stole all the new custom assets that tophatta and I made for Simple Foliage 1.6 when we explicitly stated that the new assets could not be reused. They didn't even reach out to us to ask for permission. They did not respond to messages from me asking them to take our new assets out, so the mod was taken down.
Please remember: mod authors create content for players, for free, in their spare time. It is so, so disrespectful to just blatantly ignore permission rules and take other people's content. I understand it's frustrating when mod authors disappear or do not update their mods, but that doesn't change copyright. You can always modify mods for your own personal use if you'd like, but please do not redistribute other people's assets (whether it be art or code or both) when you do not have permission to do so.
Can't you just add what's missing without changing the original mod? This way you could update, I would be very interested, as in my opinion these were the best trees ever.
Probably not, since the update will use the author's original assets anyway. Instead of recoloring game assets like VPR, it's a repaint. But the author requires that her permission be obtained to use any assets in this file. I will not upload again without being able to contact the original author.

If my mod is broken by new game updates, and your contact send to me is not answered for more than a month, you can share the conversion or your fixed file for the benefits of others.
If you ever decide to upload it again (after a month has passed or whatever permissions require), please fix the mod first. Green version (not the bloom version) of spring Oak and Maple was not working (they did not have sprites for mossy trees at all), mystic tree was not loading either, and I don't know if there were any potential problems with green rain trees and bushes. Do none of you understand what "personal use" means? It means for the use of the person who made the edit. No one else. Once you send it to any other person, it stops being personal use and is now redistribution, which is then mod piracy if the original author's permissions don't allow redistribution.
hi, i have this problem can anyone help? the mod work just right with my 2 other saves but with that one hilltop save it seems to have some error with the pine tree and some static trees, it keep the vanilla tree and doesnt change. i did download the new update of the mod but it doesnt hellp. is there any way to fix this?
Would anyone be able to help with this. In my game the town still has some static trees and bushes same as vanilla. They look the same as the one penny reads under. Would really appreciate some help in figuring out how to make these vanilla trees match with the rest.
Hi there, are there any plans on adding the new sve trees to this mod? Specifically, I'm talking about the new money tree, new fruit trees and the fir/birch trees. I would love to be able to keep using this mod as I've used it for years, but I also prefer aesthetic continuity in my stardew saves. Does someone know the reshade settings that are used for the screenshots? Or are they gone forever? I have the Natural color reshade but it is not fully the same. The roof in winter time is more blue then white
