    Heads up everyone, this mod broke during 1.5 and still remains out of date for 1.6. I would love to see this great QoL mod updated someday.

    Going to test this on 1.4 shortly. It's been a few months since I've worked on this mod. If there is any interest in continuing development, please let me know by posting here or on the official GitHub for the mod.

      Confirmed to be working in 1.4

      Looking into a major rework because getting more than 3 notifications becomes too cumbersome, and the additions in 1.4 open the door for even more notifications, exacerbating the problem.

      Open to suggestions.

      Do you have any plans to update to 1.5? I love this mod and would like to continue using it, but it's not compatible anymore.

    If you plan on it, have you started working on a Japanese version? I would be interested in helping with translations.

    I think it's possible to add materials like oak resin to the tips, because the early construction work is very important, and the display time of the tips can be prolonged appropriately, because sometimes the tips disappear without reading them.

      Thanks for the feedback. I completely agree about the display time. When you have multiple notifications, it's too easy to miss some. I'm looking into a complete rework of how they're displayed to mitigate this issue.

      Notifications for taps are definitely on my list of items to get to!

      It appears to be an issue when checking areas for nearby npc's with birthdays. I'll get this resolved and put into the upcoming release (1.8)

      Version 1.8 was just uploaded. It should resolve the error you were seeing.
      In the case that you are still receiving the error, or start receiving any new ones, the new version contains improved logging.

      Maybe it be great if added the quarry in the list of notification too if its not too hard to do

    I'm not getting any crashes or errors, but I don't get birthday notifications until really late in the day, and I'm not getting farm cave notifications at all. I mostly play in multiplayer, if that makes a difference. Here's my log if you need it: https://log.smapi.io/P3QUdq41

      I'm sorry to hear that the farm cave notifications aren't working. I'm looking into this. Progress on fixing the issue can be tracked here: https://github.com/OtherBuckets/StardewNewsFeed/issues/23

      If you don't mind, I have a 2 questions that may help speed up the process of figuring out what's going on.
      1) Did you choose fruit bats or mushrooms.
      2) Do you happen to have any objects placed in your cave (decorations, chests, furnaces, etc...)

      As for the birthdays, at the moment, it provides the birthday notifications when you are near the NPC with a birthday. When you move to a new area, or enter a building, it checks all NPC's in that area. We are working on changes to this feature though, and plan to eventually have it list any birthdays first thing in the morning, and provide a gift suggestion as well.

      Sorry for the late reply, I thought I'd get a notification for replies but I guess not. I chose fruit bats, and I didn't have any objects placed in my cave.

      Thanks for getting back to us. We were able to isolate the issue today, and worked out a resolution.
      Farm Cave notifications for fruit bats will be fixed with our next release, version 1.8

    Great mod. When I downloaded it I wasn't sure it would work for me as I use Automate and an Auto-Grabber mod so anything that can be harvested gets put into a chest about 1 second after it's finished but the mod still registers it and notifies me. It actually works great with these mods because it provides some feedback for them. Great quality of life mod, it seems like a small thing at first but it becomes essential to your game.

    It would be great if you could add barns and coops

      We pushed an official update this morning (1.7) that contains support for barns and coops. (as well as a few other small things)

    Hello, big thanks for this mod, but can you make the messages in an extra (extern) file, for translations, or seperate files for seperate languages?

      Thanks for the suggestion. Adding support for additional languages is a fantastic idea. This is something I should be able to look at doing within the next few days.

      We have completed this feature, and translation support will be included in the next version of this mod. (1.6)
      Spanish and German translations will be included right away, and all languages supported by Stardew Valley will make their way into this mod.
