Hello, I really like the idea of this mod, however I'm already on summer on my playthrough and don't want to restart it, is this safe to install mid save?
Edit: you're all set! Sorry about the duplicate fields for the Farmhouse Wreath Offset values, there's not a great way to truncate a big set of numbers like that. Very few languages should need to change them, thankfully. --- I'd love that! Right now there's a small issue with default.json (I accidentally left out a config option). It'll be fixed today in the 1.1.1 patch, which should be up in an hour or two once I'm done troubleshooting a user issue. I'll edit this comment when the update is live and note the fix in the changelog.
Most dialogue is copied from the base game/RSV/SVE and just has "Luau" swapped for "Feast of the Sun" or "feast", so hopefully it's simple to translate :)
Hi! First off, I love this mod; the name and setting feels a lot more fitting than the normal luau! And the redesign of everything looks great!
I do have a question though: I am currently using Seasonal Farmer Looks, and I made specific portraits and outfits for a lot of the festivals and holidays in the game. Understandably, the portrait I made for the luau didn't come up (I'm guessing it was because the luau was renamed or overwritten), and was curious if you had any insight on how I could work around this. I tried renaming the png in the mod file to "portrait_feastofthesun" which is the standard naming system for the portrait mod, but unfortunately it didn't work.
Please let me know if you have any answers! Thank you!
Edit: you should be all set! The festival is the Luau internally again, so mods that are looking for it should be able to find it. This shouldn't be a player-visible change, but if you spot any instances of the base game (not other mods) mentioning the Luau by name, let me know. Right now the only place "Luau" should appear is on the Luau Skirt clothing item. --- Great question! I did in fact change the Luau's DayEvent name internally... but maybe that wasn't necessary. I'll test without the change & with Seasonal Farmer Looks, since other mods could have similar issues. If reverting the internal name doesn't cause any player-visible issues, I'll go with that. Otherwise I'll figure out the Seasonal Farmer Looks issue for you- it's probably checking for the DayEvent name.
I really, really, really like this! I love the villagers putting the wreaths on their doors and talking about this. Any plans on including other additional Stardew Valley sections (East Scarp or Coal Point Farm) or mods that add new buildings to town (Louis' Garage and the Jail from Law & Order SV) or mods that had new buildings (the Aquarium or Lighthouse or Pelican Valley Lofts) or new NPCs houses (Juliet & Jessie or Lunna or QingFeng)? Thanks! :)
I'll add wreaths to modded locations on a case by case basis depending on permissions and suitability- they don't fit on all buildings. Once I've had a chance to discuss compat with other authors, there may be an update adding wreaths to modded locations and other compat content.
Update 1.1.0 adds wreaths to various East Scarp buildings. Dialogue compatibility will be handled on the ES Modders' ends- there's already a couple pending.
I unfortunately can't patch assets from Louis' Garage, Pelican Valley Lofts, and a few other mods because of how they handle their tilesheets. If a mod doesn't load its tilesheets into the game's Maps folder, other mods can't edit them. I may add compat for more buildings in the future as I find mods that I can patch from both a technical and permissions standpoint- there are already some pending updates on the other mod's side. Thanks!
Edit: it looks like Seaside Valley is overriding my patches. I'll add a fix in the first update! This may be an issue with other recolour mods as well. (Fixed in update 1.1.0!)
I'll double check, but it looks like Seaside Valley doesn't need special compat. Since they don't change the shape of the buildings much, the default wreath positions should work fine.
The wreaths are an 'Overlay' patch- they get added on top of the building sprite like a sticker, regardless of what other mods have patched the image. The compatibility with Elle's Town Buildings and Way Back Pelican Town is included because both mods change the shape or position of the doors, so the default wreath position doesn't quite line up.
Oh no, I'm sorry - I noticed that when I first installed your mod, and should have specified what the issue was. I apologize!
I look forward to your update, whenever you have time to create and release it. My original point still stands though, I love your idea, and your work is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with the community! :)
It looks like Way Back Pelican Town's designs in 2_Festivals.png are overriding your updates, even when I make your mod load first. Only the door wreaths appear. Here are my settings.
Edit: there is an update live that fixes the Priority settings, ensuring that my patches are applied after recolour mods like Way Back PT or Seaside Valley. If a recolour is still overriding patches with this update installed, please let me know. I tested and found the patches applied with Way Back PT running, but I've fixed this issue once before already so there could be a secret sneaky issue I'm not finding.
Note that the garland on the soup pot and the sunflowers on Pierre's booth are disabled when Way Back PT is installed because they don't match the new shapes of the assets. --- Ahg, I thought I fixed that before release. There will be an update within an hour, thanks for reporting!
This looks lovely! Definitely becoming part of my "must-haves". I have no clue if the dialogue patches this mod makes will interfere with other dialogue mods like the gender neutral mod or the canon-friendly dialogue expansion, but I have both in my game so I can be sort of a guinea pig to test that, LOL :)
It's compatible! The only gendered dialogue line is in the RSV compat dialogue, and it will automatically switch to the Gender Neutral RSV version of you have Gender Neutrality Mod Tokens installed.
For Cannon Friendly, I'm already in touch with the authors, and compatibility is being planned. For now my mod doesn't touch their dialogue, so villagers may mention the Luau but otherwise everything will work.

Lemme know what I can do to help troubleshoot. :) Log here in case it has something to look at: https://smapi.io/log/2bda905befbb4c5789f25e5b6f54744e
(Yes, I know I have a duplicate mod. It's okay.)
