Changelogs
The Luau is now the Feast of the Sun, a Summer Solstice celebration draped in sunflowers and greenery!

All visual elements of the Luau have been lovingly redrawn with sun motifs, and 5 new furniture items are available to take home.

All mentions of the Luau in dialogue or text in the base game, SVE, and RSV have been altered to refer to the Feast of the Sun instead.

Villagers will join in on the festivities by putting sunflower wreaths on their doors before the festival- and so will you! (Configurable)

Furniture can be purchased from Pierre's shop at the Feast of the Sun, or can be obtained from the furniture catalogue or CJB Cheats Menu.

Replaced furniture (configurable):
  • Luau Table ⇾ Feast of the Sun Table
  • Totem Pole ⇾ Large Tub o' Sunflowers
 New furniture:
  • Feast of the Sun Candlestick
  • Tub o' Sunflowers
  • Feast of the Sun Wreath
  • Sunny Orange Basket
  • Feast of the Sun Dining Table

Most furniture items can be rotated, including the wreath.

  • Colour Scheme: Vanilla or Desaturated. Desaturated matches most recolour mods, such as Earthy Recolour or VPR.
  • Town Wreaths: True or False. When True, villagers will put sunflower wreaths on their doors on Summer 10 and 11.
  • Farmhouse Wreath: True or False. When True, if you have the at least a level 3 farmhouse a wreath will appear on your door on Summer 10 and 11.
  • Farmhouse Wreath X/Y Offset: Adjust the x and y-axis pixel position of the farmhouse wreath, if it doesn't fit on your farmhouse door. This does nothing if Farmhouse Wreath is False.
  • Replace Totem Pole: True or False. When True, the Totem Pole furniture item will be renamed and reskinned to a Large Tub o' Sunflowers.
  • Replace Luau Table: True or False. When True, the Luau Table furniture item will be renamed and reskinned to a Feast of the Sun Table.
  • RSV Compatibility: True or False. When True, Ridgeside villagers will mention the Feast of the Sun in dialogue instead of the Luau, and will put sunflower wreaths on their doors if Town Wreaths is also True.
  • SVE Compatibility: True or False. When True, SVE villagers will mention the Feast of the Sun in dialogue instead of the Luau, and will put sunflower wreaths on their doors if Town Wreaths is also True
  • ES Compatibility: True or False. When True, East Scarp villagers will put sunflower wreaths on their doors if Town Wreaths is also True. Dialogue compatibility is being left for ES modders to handle, as it's easier to do on their end.

I recommend Generic Mod Config Menu for managing config options.

  • Compatible with Stardew Valley Expanded and Ridgeside Village.
  • Compatible with Elle's Town Buildings and Way Back Pelican Town. Villager's sunflower wreaths will automatically adjust their positions to match the alternative building sprites. Some buildings may gain or lose wreaths depending on if there's a good spot for one on the sprite.
  • Compatible with recolour mods such as Earthy Recolour and VPR.
  • Compatible with Gender Neutrality Mod Tokens for the vanilla, SVE, and RSV dialogue. Any mod adding dialogue compatibility on their end will have their own GNMT compatibility status.
  • Dialogue from mods that are not compatible with Feast of the Sun may still mention the Luau, but there should be no major compatibility issues beyond that.

For mod authors: festival positions are unchanged. Custom NPCs should only need a dynamic token to swap out the Luau for the Feast in dialogue. Wreaths are added via EditImage: Overlay, Priority: Late.

  • Install Content Patcher and SMAPI.
  • Unzip [CP] Feast of the Sun into Stardew Valley/Mods.
  • The mod can be safely installed at any point during a save.
  • The mod can be safely uninstalled at any point by removing it from the Mods folder. Upon removal, any owned furniture items from Feast of the Sun will become harmless Error Items that can be thrown out.

  • Tiakall for writing brand-new sun puns for Sean, and helping identify Ridgeside dialogue that needed compatibility changes.
