It doesn´t work for me, i don´t know why. I am on version 1.5.4. It only gives me mixed seeds, rice seeds, bone fragments or clay. I have only a few artifacts left (4 or 5) to finish the collection but they do not appear anywhere. Please help.
I was using the most recent version. and what it does is make the golden coconuts drop clay, stone, iron ore, copper ore, gold ore, and iridium ore only on every third coconut craked. meaning you can't get the seeds, the island artifacts, golden helm hat from them like your meant to.
Hmm you're right. I spawned and cracked a whole bunch of them, and while I got the special item from the first one, all the rest was copper, iron, gold, iridium, coal, stone, clay and fire quartz. And SMAPI shows errors about "outside the array" or some jazz; basically, the mod doesn't know what to do with them and falls back to some sort of default drops list I guess (and breaks Fast Animations in the process). The error shows up for Fast Animations, but upon closer inspection, it is indeed from this mod.
(I'm on version 1.0.3-unofficial.1-Xebeth)
I would suggest removing the mod as soon as you've completed your museum. You can use Increased Artifact Spots to compensate.
As another FYI for anyone who's read this far, as soon as I removed the mod I started sometimes getting beach warp totems from digging artifact spots in the sand (both from the beach and the desert). Was this a thing before? There may be some other little surprises this mod blocks out...
re:warp totems, I'm not currently using any mods and I think since 1.5 there's been a chance to dig up warp totems (farm, mountain, beach) from artifact spots, it seems to depend on map tile which ones might drop. (tldr digging up warp totems is part of the base game)

I'm curious, does the mod keep multiplying the weights ad infinitum, or is it terminated at some point, like resetting every X times an artifact/mineral is found, or something. The dynamic weight system is great, but seems like a dangerous thing to leave open-ended.
For example, if you found the same artifact a total of just 10 times, with the default 0.3 multiplication and a starting weight of 1, it would result in a number like 0.0000059049 (1*0.3^10). Can the game (or the mod) handle it? What about more?
Sorry if it's a silly question, but I'd appreciate an answer (from anyone).
Edit: I may be overthinking this. The mod probably just uses the in-game "times found" statistic for artifacts (despite the wording on the description).
Topmost post on this thread claims that this mod is obsolete due to its changes being merged into 1.4. Didn't see anyone else confirming it, so if anyone would care to, please do
Yes. A simple example is the amphibian fossil. Previously it had a line in the object information that was 587: "Amphibian Fossil/150/-300/Arch/Amphibian Fossil/The relatively short hind legs suggest some kind of primordial toad./Item 1 289/Forest .01 Mountain .01" #!String Now it is: 587: "Amphibian Fossil/150/-300/Arch/Amphibian Fossil/The relatively short hind legs suggest some kind of primordial toad./Forest .01 Mountain .01" #!String
The difference is that "Item 1 289/" has been removed, which means the "Forest .01 Mountain .01" is in the correct location (has the right number of "/" before it.
However, I don't think they have made it so as you collect more of an artefact it becomes less common.

This is the easiest way to keep up with the latest working versions of mods:

And is this with or without unofficial update?

I suggest using Artifact System Fixed - Redux instead.

"Fixed certain artifacts not spawning as intended."
Either way, thanks for all the work on the mod. It's very appreciated. :)
