I'll have to give that mod a try sometime, but I'm not updating the mod anymore. SilverMoonChan has taken over, so you can add the suggestion over there.
Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be working correctly any longer, at least not for me. I'm not sure if it's this mod itself, or if it's because of recent changes to Custom Music/PyTK, but as soon as a rainy day begins, I get about half a second of the song playing, and then it becomes garbled static followed shortly by the game crashing. Oddly, there's nothing in the SMAPI log indicating any errors, so I'm not even sure what to make of it.
It seems to work fine for me. Have you added any other mods that add/change music? Try taking out any new mods you've added & start with this mod only to confirm if it's this 1 or something is conflicting.
@whisperinwind87 Thank you for the confirmation. Sadly I don't know how to code this to work well with other mods that add/change music. I would probly also need permission from the creator of SVE to make it work smoothly.
I don't use SVE, but I do have one other mod that technically adds music through Custom Music: Tractor Engine Sound. I will try removing that and seeing if anything changes.
EDIT: I'm afraid the same thing happened: brief music, then static, then crash. Here's a log, just in case it helps. https://smapi.io/log/f10da49234da4c44a192928b746eed05
Just to eliminate any doubts about mod conflict, I started a fresh game using only Custom Music and this mod. I slept until the third day, when it rained. Got the same static and crash. Here's the log:
Apologies for the late reply. I am currently on hiatus due to school. Once I am done, I will return & update this mod. I'll try to pop in every so often to notify peeps though. I might put this mod on hiatus, but will wait a bit b4 I do that suddenly.
I absolutely love this mod, the only thing is the music is so good that when it stops raining or when I enter an event the sudden snap to vanilla music is so weird... if only there was a full music overhaul that matched this one... I need more good stardew valley music
I apologize for this. I thought it had been ok since nobody had a problem with it. I shall do more research to see if I can find a better way. In the mean time, I have put up both compressed & non-compressed versions up for everyone to choose. Thank you for letting me know there was still an issue. :3
Have you seen about compressing it? I usually run wav files through youcompressing.com and it usually drops the filesize about 80% I don't really hear any quality drop when I do it, but if you do then maybe try surfing around. There are plenty of options and I think if the file size was smaller people would be more willing to get this mod. Love the song, it's exactly what I feel that Stardew Valley's rainy days feel like. Thank you for modding it in!
I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems like all the ambient sound either gets removed or severely reduced during rainy days. I can barely hear the rain when I turn the ambient sound all the way up, and the beach is completely silent. No waves or seagulls. I really like this song and I understand that editing the sound files is difficult, but I was looking forward to hearing this song with rain and the beach sounds in the background. Is there no way to make it so ambient sound is more prominent/included? If not, then I'll go without the ambient sound and just stick with the song.
The only sounds included with the song are the original sounds that play when it's raining, which have been lowered to hear the song clearly. The ones with seagulls & waves would be separate. No other files have been messed with. There's a chance that it's just taking awhile to play, or another mod/file is affecting it. I've had a few times where the other sounds didn't play, but then another time it would. Not sure why. :/
I have now updated the mod, & so far it works for me on the 1.4 update. It now requires SMAPI & Custom Music, & maybe Content Patcher (not sure about this yet).

just tested it after uninstalling Stardew Valley Extended, the mod worked perfectly again...

Open audacity, open the original WAV, then directly export it as OGG without any changes. Set the quality to 5.
Do not forget to change the "Rainy Days.wav" to "Rainy Days.ogg" in the content.json.
I can upload my copy if you want me to. I can't test it though. Custom Music does support OGG, so it should be fine.
