Left the farm house and saw a bunch of red text in the smapi box, not sure what they mean or if they are gonna be a issue. https://smapi.io/log/1fba971ebdd7439eab3576ab89cddfb3

Looks like both this mod and Esca's Modding Plugins aren't able to start because of the same issue, so shouldn't be due to this mod. The error complains about something having to do with BuildingData and Solid Foundations is warning about some compatibility issues. I'd suggest looking into what's going on with Solid Foundations.

This mod doesn't work if Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic or Immersive Spouses for 1.6 is installed. Very weird why they conflict.

It would like to retract my comment as I did not do extensive testing. Turns out upon further testing it's not a conflict problem with some specific mods. I only have 3 grass tile left on my animal area, and everytime I restart the day 3 random animals out of my 24 are chosen to eat each grass tile. Turns out this mod doesn't work if the duck doesn't get to eat a grass tile but eat hay from the coop tray. Is it possible to add an option?

I think what you can do here is disable "eat before swimming" in the config. Since animals eat hay overnight, I think this will be the simplest solution

Ducks won't leave the pond in the standard farm, it's like they're stuck in there.
And after 5 p.m. they will start bumping and walking on the pond's edge, seems like they can't find the path to get out of the water.
Already testing in disable all other mods or not change any setting, but still happening.

Hi, I took a look, but I don't think I am able to help. I'm not sure what could be causing your issue

    不知道其他人会不会因为这个而困扰:每天早晨想去摸鸭子的时候,它就已经下水了。
    希望能让鸭子稍晚一点在下水,或是它能够间歇性的上岸。(只是建议)
I don't know if anyone else is bothered by this: every morning when I try to touch the duck, it's already in the water.
Hopefully the duck will be in the water a little later, or it will be able to come ashore intermittently. (just a suggestion)

Normally you can config the mod, so that you can have them wait until they were petted (I think that should be on by default), but AutoPetters count for that as well, which can be turned of in the config

Tbh I have no idea why that happens. The issue has been around since the original author's releases too. The mod doesn't affect how the game loads a duck's swimming animation, so I can't understand how this even happens to begin with...

could it be that the mod authors didnt include a swimming sprite since the basegame ducks never swim to begin with? Just a wild guess ofc since i dont know how the game does the swimming etc. Maybe someone with more knowledge can give more insight

I looked into that and that's not the issue. I wish it was because that would be an easy fix haha

Huh, oddly enough I tested this myself and my ducks were swimming in the water, not walking. I tried it with Elle's Cuter Coop Animals and it was fine for me, so now I'm really not sure what's wrong

Hmm strange I use the same replacer but the ducks walk for me. Or rather the duck, because I watched them several times from 6:30am to 5:00pm and only ever one of my ducks (and always the same one) ever goes into the river. I tried removing better water and dynamic reflections to seeif they are the offenders (bc those two have changes on the water) but nope same thing happening.
Then I removed the retexture and the ducks still walked but now 2 ducks entered the water.
So I thought maybe its a problem with Granpas Farm, so I made a new Test Save on a Vanilla Farm, but Ducky still Walky. I dont know what else I could test atm

Ok I did some more testing today and found the mod causing the walking. At least for me it is AlternativeTextures, as soon as I add this mod my ducks start walking on water, even without any packs installed. Sadly I dont really know what the issue could be between these two mods
According to OPs log they also use AT

Thanks for looking into that. I compared the code used in this mod to the code used in Alternative Textures, and I'm still not sure what could be causing the issue with walking... But at least with this I can add a note to the description to let people know that using this and Alternative Textures makes ducks walk on water

Unless something was changed in the recent update, I'm not having ducks walk on water and I have both Alternative Textures and this mod. I tested this both on the recent Meadow's Farm and an old save with the basic farm.

Edit: Apparently, you can have a mix of walking ducks and swimming ducks if you run Alternative Textures on a save with preexisting ducks. The preexisting ducks uses their swimming animation without issue. The moment you use AT scissors on one, that duck start walking on water. The rest remain unaffected. Any duck added after AT will have their swimming animation broken.

So, you could utilize this to have a bunch of regular skinned ducks, but then have one holy halo skinned duck that rules over the plebeian ducks.

Ducks walk on water in my game even without this mod, and without changing what the ducks look like using AT. No use of scissors, though I do have Elle's replacement ducks. So I think this is a bug on AT's end.

somebody reported the bug on AT, it def looks like AT makes the ducks walk and this mod just lets us see this much more consistently

In case anyone wants a quick solution without digging around, the problem seems to happen when AT save and load back textures for the duck. If you haven't started a save, just having farm animals turned off in AT config file should be enough. If you want the retextures for the other farm animals, you can allow AT to place textures for other farms animals. When you buy or hatch ducks, you need to disable AT farm animal placement in the config before you acquire the duck. If the duck is acquired while AT farm animal placement is on, it doesn't matter if you have alternate textures for the duck or not, your duck's texture will be tainted.

If you have already tainted ducks, the only ways I have solved it was by selling the affected ducks then buying ducks when AT farm animal config is disabled or having AT completely uninstalled.

Hey Tem, once again, thanks for the hard work. Just a small suggestion, your uploads shouldn't include the "config.json" file. It is generated automatically if missing in the mod's directory. This way, we can preserve users configs as we update the mod.

while i like this mod, but the ducks reflection is like 3cm below them, no matter where the camera is, the reflection should be right below them, touching the duck

Using Dynamic Reflections? That mod's config's allow you to configure the reflection y-axis offset for the player and NPCs separately (ducks count as NPCs). Just adjust the options.

Yup. Only the host has to install it (I think). If the farmhands have it, I don't think it does anything.

Sorry no it just says [Broken] Compatibility issues, but there is nothing in the SMAPI log to prove that.

I think Stardrop gets infomration from the mod compatibility page on the SMAPI site. If the mod has the exact same name as the original then it might be getting confused if that page hasn't been updated yet.
