The concept is good, but it seems like it'd only be useful after I've gotten to the second year, while I'd mostly need/want it during the first year.
Would you consider a mode (an option you can toggle) that helps with gift selection before you've gotten to the point of acquiring Loved gifts? Like, the parts I'd most need help remembering would include avoiding handing over Hated gifts (maybe via a yuck icon if you've got it in your hands while looking at the character), recalling which characters don't like Universal Likes (e.g. oh yeah Abigail doesn't like veggies, George doesn't like flowers), and pointing out which characters enjoy super cheap gifts (e.g. Linus and Leah both enjoy Spring Onions and Salmonberries) or gifts that most other characters dislike/hate (e.g. Vincent loves Snails).
And as you hear about gift preferences from various villagers and events, it'd be nice to see that info collected somewhere... though I imagine that's much harder than the rest of this.
(Bonus if a character's birthday makes their liked/loved items visually distinct in your inventory/chests. Like, imagine if it's Vincent's birthday and a small handful of items in your chest (like Narcissus) have a purple background, and the Snail has a golden background because he loves it.)
There is another mod that does some of that, (although i can't remember the name), it shows an icon when holding a gift and hovering over an NPC that indicates the repose to the gift.
I do not think i will add such features to this mod as they are different entirely from the current functionality.
Omg yesss this is what i thought too! Loved gifts won't be useful most of the time on year one. I'd love it if we could see liked and hated gifts too! Cuz i need to open the wiki for that either way which kinda ruins the purpose...
why does it show that all npcs like the same gifts:') and the gifts are incorrect too. idk if its because of another mod but could it be because i changed the xnb files of the characters? like i wanted them to look different so i replaced their xnb files T_T
!featurerequest: Hi, can you add support for "Adventurer's Guild Expanded for 1.6 Uploaded by underanesthesia". I get the following warning message on SMAPI, mod for rest of the NPCs work fine. Thank you for the great work!
Warning: [Content Patcher] Can't apply data patch "Adventurer's Guild Expanded for 1.6 > Include Data/gifttastes.json > EditData Data/NPCGiftTastes > text operation #10" to Data/NPCGiftTastes: record 'Marlon' has no value, so field '1' can't be modified using text operations. That is a problem with Adventurer's Guild Expanded, the mod fails to add gift taste records to the game. This mod reads those records but so does the base game.
Hi, the mod if working perfectly with one caveat - it renders on both screens when playing split screen coop.
Is this something that can be fixed? I'm willing to send a coffee (or tea) worth donation or two if you're able to receive it as I know it can be a hard work.
Just for you (just kidding, i had considered this problem before and you reminded me) i have now implemented coop split screen support in version 1.2.0
I wish we could see liked gifts too. For example by clicking the character, we can see loved gifts, and theres an arrow to go to a next page, where we can see liked gifts too. Unless its a thing, and im just silly!
Hi, I have an issue. I only installed the mod a couple days ago so I don't know if it's linked to the new update or not. Anyway, when I selected the option to show even unknown favorites, the mod worked just fine. But when I chose to see only the favorites that I've already given, it doesn't work. A message appears that I don't have any known favorites, both on the calendar and the social page. I thought maybe it was because it only showed the favorites I gave from the moment I installed the mod, but I gave coffee to Harvey and still nothing. The gifts do show correctly in the vanilla social page though.
Hi, thx for the mod, everything works fine except I've notice Vincent's love gifted won't register properly, I have given him snail twice, but it still won't show up on the calender, i'm using the progressive mode btw. I've checked that if I turn off progressive mode, Vincent's love list shows normally just like anyone else. Well, it doesn't really bother me, just thought you might want to know. Thanks again :)
