I'd be willing to contribute to paying for this mod to be updated but I wouldn't want it to be open to take as long as needed. If there was a time frame offered, I'd happily contribute to paying for this. I want this mod back as bad as so many others. This was an incredible mod. I'm sad it hasn't even been touched yet. I even keep checking github to see about it. Seems like there has been no attempt at it yet. I'm really hoping to see something soon, even if it had to be paid for.
Hello fellow Stardew Valey enthusiasts. For people requesting an 1.6 update because "oh no there's no magic mod left anywhere what will I do", check out 'Stardew Druid'? It has magic, it is not necessarily linked to items (although you must be holding a basic tool to use it, and having one of the mods items might allow you to use two different rituals at once under certain circumstances), and it has a "progression system" as you only unlock its various abilities through the mod's quests. It's a bit OP, but so is this here Magic mod.
Point is, it might help scratch that magical itch as you give spacechase0 some time to update if they so indeed pleases; the 1.6 version of Stardew Valley pretty much literally just came out and real life is still going on unhindered. Filling the posts section with 'please update' comments will not make things go faster, so let's have some patience and consideration for our mod creators.

I don't think so. Nothing hints at that so far, anyway. spacechase0 has been fairly active on the Nexus recently, and the Magic mod was pretty much fully functional barring a couple of quirks until 1.6 came along, so there was no major need for an update until it (also, many mod authors were waiting for 1.6 to come along to fix minor bugs specifically because they'd have to work on updating their mod anyway, which I suspect was the case here).
Mod authors have lives, families and jobs. Modding and updating mods requires time and effort, both of which are often provided at absolutely no cost to us. The least we can do is to be patient.
I just want to learn magic from our residential wizard. It sounds like so much fun, with Stardew Valley Expanded, and that huge library under the tower...
Yes I really want this updated or perhaps an unofficial. I wonder if there is anyone who will update existing abandoned mods at a price? lol If so how much.
I would really like this mod updated to, but I will admit it kills alot of the games challenge. Once you have blink the horse is completely useless and once you have the ladder spell skull cavern is trivial at best. Think I got to floor 1000+ in one day just using it over and over again.
Only just installed this earlier today and I THOUGHT it was effectively updated to work on 1.6 but I'm gonna assume no then and thus me installing it was a pointless waste of my time then? A shame since I was hoping to install it and I even went through making sure I correctly installed the "required mods" FIRST before I installed it to TRY to make sure it would work. Which apparently like I said I guess was a no go.
This is the last of my usual mods that doesn't have an update or unofficial release. I will continue to dutifully check in hopes that this gets an update. I will wait as long as it takes. This mod was what got me to buy stardew in the first place, so I'm a very big fan of it.
It's a really good one. Tons of fun. If you don't have it already, I recommend checking the link in my post below for another cool magic mod while we await the potential return of spacechase0's.
