Sword & Sorcery is a vanilla adjacent, magical adventure inspired by the likes of Dungeons & Dragons, Balder's Gate, and Final Fantasy. Follow the complex story of the Coastal Adventurer's Guild as they learn, grow and change thanks to The Farmer's intervention. It starts with a lone tent on the beach, and ends in a battle to save Pelican Town and East Scarp from the ghost of tragedy.
The following mods are required: East Scarp, Spacecore, Lumisteria's Tilesheets (Indoor and Outdoor) and M.E.E.P
Simply drop the extracted Sword & Sorcery folder into your Mods directory, ensuring you have all of the prerequisites.
Additionally, there's more content if you have Trinket Tinker! It's not required, but highly recommended.
The entire mod is documented in the Player's Handbook, a means of immersive documentation mailed to the player on install. Please utilize it! It will answer any questions you have pertaining to events, skills, items, NPCs, and more!
S&S is fully compatible with Stardew Valley Expanded, Ridgeside Village, and most other content mods.
Sword & Sorcery adds 3 Romanceable NPCs, 2 Befriendable NPCs, 1 Antisocal NPC, and two Fake NPCs via M.E.E.P:
Mateo (they/them), the Artificer: Leader of the Coastal Adventurer's Guild, this rogue with a heart of gold will steal your heart away.
Hector (he/she), the Druid: An ornery recluse living in East Scarp's Deep Mountains, this shapeshifter will test how trustworthy you are.
Cirrus (she/her), the Bard: One of the Ferngill Republic's most famous musicians has come to The Valley, and not just to play keytar.
Roslin (she/her), the Sorcerer: This eccentric magician comes to the Guild with a desperate task; to rescue her partner.
Dandelion (she/they), the Paladin: She's met a terrible fate, hasn't she?
Solomon (he/him): No adventuring party is complete without an annoying sidekick; in this case, Roslin's questionable Shadowfolk patron.
Emeritus (he/him) & Book (she/her): Charming companions who you'll encounter in your adventure, who decide to stick around.
Mateo, Hector, and Cirrus are fully romanceable with over 15 events each with unique content (spouse rooms, patios, kids, powers).
You can unlock each NPC's dating route by selecting (ROMANTIC) rather than (PLATONIC) during their 10h event cutscene.
Be forewarned: PolyamorySweet tends to cause issues with NPCs with custom romance mechanics, such as these.
Sword & Sorcery is intended to give an RPG feel, and is primarily designed around each major NPC introducing a new skill to The Farmer.
Artificer: Perfect your sharpshooting skills with a craftable bow and arrows, or master the forge and expand on your smithing know-how.
Druid: Master wildshape and take on the form of a stag, doe or wolf. Or, foster ancient plants long since lost to time.
Bard: Take on a defensive or offensive focus while using a slew of new musically-themed utility spells.
Sorcerer: Pour your efforts into research and collecting elemental essences and learn mysterious new rituals and potion recipes.
Paladin: Use your new Offhand Weapon slot to bolster your armor by using a shield and flinging it at your enemies when they get too close.
During the climax of the story, you will experience The Deep Dark; a new 30 floor dungeon twisting dangerously underneath East Scarp with a final boss, custom forage, custom ore, custom tools to be made with aforementioned ore, and very challenging custom monsters. If the Dangerous Mines weren't enough for you, try this. Have no fear, though! If you're able to light all four candles on Grandpa's Altar, you'll receive a legendary weapon from a renowned hero to aid you in your quests.
This is in addition to: Over a hundred events and thousands of lines of dialogue, new items, weapons, crops, recipes, machines, maps, location messages, fish, extremely dynamic characters with seasonal outfits and overlays, detailed configuration options, crossovers with other mods, and more.
My next project is Sword & Sorcery: Final Mix! The 3.0 update of this mod will no longer require East Scarp (though it will remain optional), and will feature all the same faces and a few new ones with a redesigned story. Not only that, but more skills, dungeon floors, redone artwork, and other features are planned. I will be sharing my progress on Patreon and Discord; as of now, I consider the East Scarp version of S&S complete and don't plan to update further besides bugfixes and maintenance.
