When the description says that this mod is compatible with Elle's Town Animals, does that mean that it works with ETA's reskin of Dusty, or just that you can use both mods at once by turning ETA's Dusty reskin off?
I've had this mod for awhile and it's been working with no issues. However, I also play with PolyamorySweet and recently added Alex to the collection.
Built the Dusty doghouse so he could join the farm and he appeared for the first little while but now he seems to have vanished?
Any idea where he went? I can send you a log file if you'd like. I mean, the description said it works with Free Love so I assumed it would be fine with PolyamorySweet too, and it was for 2 days before he became invisible.
Game still runs fine, just Dusty seems to have vanished. Can't find him in town either, I wondered if the code thought we weren't married due to the PolyamorySweet or something, but he seems to have simply disappeared altogether since I built the doghouse.
Just for extra clarification, does this mod work with Gwen's Doghouses? It's a separate mod from Way Back Pelican Town and IDK if it touches Dusty's house or if that's exclusively WBPT territory.
When I first installed and ran the mod, the fence with the dog sign was moved right under the water bowl. Is this correct? Or is there a way to fix it?
Hey, I really like the idea of this mod. However, I'm running it alongside Gwen's Medieval Building's/Gwen's Way Back Pelican Town and everything looks correct except for Marnie's Rance, Leah's House, the Wizard's Tower and the Hat Shop all have overlapping textures.
It's only present with this mod installed. Your description calls out Gwen's Medieval Buildings and Way Back Pelican Town, so there must be some interaction between these mods.

I can't replicate the issue in 2.6.12, can you try typing debug killnpc DustySVERoam into the SMAPI console and then try the trash cans again on a new day
debug killnpc DustySVERoam [game] Couldn't find DustySVERoam in any locations. [Console Commands] Sent debug command to the game, but there was no output.
And then promptly after that message I tried the trash:
[game] DebugOutput: Tried to change friendship for a friend that wasn't there.
And then tried again after a night of sleep: Still happening.

I removed Portraiture and Farmhouse Fixes cause they were optional. I also added NPC Map Locations with your new update. Is it possibly because of one of these 3 things?
