As a Jewish (Ashkenazi specifically, which is the branch of Judaism you're basing Alex off intentionally or unintentionally) Stardew player, on one hand this mod seems like it means well and could be lovely. On the other hand, it does raise some concerns. Are you yourself Jewish or have Jewish people to consult for accuracy and respectful representation? The mod itself seems sweet and could be fun to have in game, but Judaism is a closed culture with stereotypes that are deeply pervasive in media and worldwide. I'm just concerned about accuracy to ensure no harm comes to the Jewish population of players, since I personally do wish we had more representation in games.
I know you are primarily a npc outfit modder but would you ever consider making these clothes for the farmer? I love your outfits and would to see them for my farmer, especially a yarmukle for my self-insert farmer
I've been looking into creating a wedding attire mod for the player farmer and planning to release some wedding hats/jewellery/hair accessories along with it, yarmulkes included. :) It will take a little time, though, so it might not be released right away.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm glad you're enjoying the mod so far :) -Elaho
Wanted to expand upon this. What about more than one wedding outfit for the NPCs? For example, maybe Alex is marrying a Norwegian farmer & would like to have a Norwegian ceremony?
Paisley's Bridal Boutique (GMM) mod actually has Norgweigan wedding outfits for sale, if you'd like your farmer to be wearing Norwegian regalia for your wedding ceremony :)
Hello! I don't know much about Alex's history, could you explain to me why Alex is Jewish? Is he canonical? I'm eagerly awaiting your response, and I hope I haven't been disrespectful.
No worries at all! I don't mind answering your question :)
Canonically, Alex's background hasn't been confirmed by Concerned Ape, but while I was in the process of creating cultural background mods for each Stardew character, I decided to give Alex a mixed-Jewish background because of the strong relationship he had with his mother, Clara, who passed away. Jewish lineage is Matrilinial, meaning you are (officially?) considered Jewish if your mother is Jewish, and so on (making Evelyn Jewish as well).
There is no hard-and-fast reason why I chose Alex to be Jewish, but thought it would be a very sweet and wholesome touch to Alex's character, and give his family's story a little more depth, by giving him a mixed-Jewish background. (Canonically, George's last name "Mullner" is German, so I thought it would be really nice to pair Evelyn with a Yiddish background, making the Mullners a mixed German-Jewish family).
Hope this clarifies my decision a little bit more :) -Elaho
Thank you so much! What I can do is make a compatible version for Alex Mus-tacular Mod (with the author's permission, of course). I'd also make it a prerequisite download for the ultra-muscular version to appear in the game.
2 things: the first thing is the fact I actually like these outfits and they are accurate (I can say that since I'm Jewish myself) and the second thing is that in the mod page Mazal Tov is the correct spelling.

I'll go ahead and change the spelling in the mod description.
