Yes for some, no for some. Plus smoking isn't healthy, and why wouldn't anyone want to see sebby be more heatlthy? And in the future, if you have any problems with a mod, its better to leave it alone, in fact this isnt even a mod thats made to send hate torwards smoking, its just a mod. Instead of sending hate, why not send love to mods you love? and instead of hate, why not a constructive criticism? Im sure the modder would prefer to see that.
When I played the game, I really liked Sebastian. But when I saw his sprite smoking it really turned me off of him. I had an ex that smoked and I hated it. It's a useful mod for people who are grossed out by their SO's smoking. If you don't like it, don't download it. :P
As a kid that grew up with one parent that smoked and I can tell you that I always got very sick because of that. Once he left the house my ear and bronchial infection never came back. So, yeah. Smoking is bad, it stinks terribly, kissing a smokers mouth feels like s#*! and it fucks up the health of your surrounding.
Not to beat a dead horse 4 years after the fact, but absolutely smoking bothers people that much. It never bothered me that my parents smoked in the house the whole time I was growing up despite my asthma and chronic bronchitis and sinus infections (it was the 70s and 80s and they'd been smoking since the 50s -- they never had a chance of quitting successfully). When I really started wanting to scream and pull the cigarettes out of people's mouths was when my mother's lung cancer metastasized to her brain.
You'd be surprised how many people out there can't see a person (even a fictional one) light up without being reminded of the years-long losing battle someone they love had to fight to stay alive.

Absolutely. I think Sebastian is a very cool character and would like to date him in-game, but smoking is an absolute dealbreaker due to how disgusting I find it. (I'm not judging you if you smoke, just explaining what an utter turn-off it is for me.) So this is a great idea for a mod.
Also, why are you complaining that an optional mod exists? No one's forcing you to download it, are they?
Amongst all the other replies, I should point out that it's a dialogue option with one of Sebastian's vanilla heart events to ask him to stop smoking. He doesn't, but this could also be used for those sorts of roleplay playthroughs where we want to see him quit.

I noticed one reference to smoking that you missed. It's in the file "Data/Events/Mountain" at the "384882/f Sebastian 2500/t 2000 2400" entry. You can search for "smoking" to find it. This line is a question that you can ask Sebastian in his 10-heart event.
And this next one is optional, but you might need to edit it depending on how you handle the first. This is the response that Sebastian gives to the above question in his 10-heart event. It's in the file "Characters/Dialogue/Sebastian" at the "event_city4" entry. You can search for "addicted" to find it.
This is a lovely mod, so people who are not very comfortable with smoking Sebastian can have a different option. I didn't realise he was a smoker until long into the game (at about 8+ hearts, I think), and by then I still personally don't mind that he smokes. I have a lot of people who smoke in my life ('cause I went to art school, hahah). It's just such a pity because smoking is unhealthy and I'm so glad he ended up quitting if he got married to us as Player.
I'm using this mod from Mal's Sebastian Expansion and I must say I enjoy the new, non-smoking Sebastian so far. I'm sure Concerned Ape has a story on why he decided to make Sebastian a smoker, but I'm still happier to see Sebastian in a state where he didn't succumb into smoking habit.
I love this and looked on here several times to see if anyone made it because I never got close to Sebastian because of the smoking.
I wanted to make a Sebastian who is brunette and still a non-smoker. If I do, would you mind me uploading it here with credit for the non-smoking part going here? I would just be uploading the sprite and portrait changes, not the dialogue since I don't have to mess with any of that.

I know someone talked to one of the people who made a big dialogue mod for him, and they might be releasing a non-smoking version if they've not already.
