The mod hasn't been updated in awhile so there may be issues with it, I haven't kept up with Starbound of late unfortunately. If this is a new character, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be working unless they changed something..
This is really strange, I started off with a new character after installing a few mods. Namely, Variety is the Spice of Life, The Radium Expansion and a few added races and the Star Wars Gear mod. I've uploaded the mods all to my server, hosted by Multiplay and...
We got through past sector X and came to the point of being able to create the Starmap upgrade for the Omega sector. Crafted it and when I used it, it crashed the game? My friends had this issue as well.
Any ideas? Would really love to give it a go, but we don't seem to be able.
You need to start new characters (and probably server) to get access to sector omega; Starbound does not handle creation of new sectors gracefully. You will still have access to the content from TRE but not the new sector unfortunately.
Perhaps I need to implement another way to access the recipes, as I thought the omega key was at least usable.
edit: If you want access to the recipes, I think you will need to edit tieroengine.celestial in mods/Radium/items/generic/celestial/ change sectorunlock "sectoro" to "sectorx" and try using the key. This should give you the recipes to craft the new items, without access to sector omega.
Thanks! Having to manually merge one file is waaay better than three. And I think merging that file is not possible yet, if I'm not mistaken. Would endorse again if possible!
I've installed this correctly, I can get into omega sector, found a bunch of radium and iridium, crafted some weapons... but I can't find any armor to craft, none at all, I've looked through all the crafting stations and can't find a recipe anywhere
Thanks for the report, I have resolved the issue.. seems a change didn't make it to the archive. The fix should allow the armor to be craftable once again (through the metalwork station).
I thought about it, but Starbound lacks functionality for the things I really want to do (so far). I'm not really an artist so this was already pushing my limits.
I'm sure to make something a bit more interesting when the game gets a bit further along though.
strange, i'm pretty sure I installed the mod right but I can't seem to find the item to craft in the robotics crafting table. I have all the ingredients listed in the screenshot on the starbound forums but for some reason it just isn't on the list. Also not experiencing any crashes, am I missing something?
Do you have the X sector unlocked? (durasteel tech upgrade) Or another mod that overrides player.config?
Make sure you double check an ordinary crafting table and the anvil (the anvil should have a nano-pick on it if you unlocked the X sector). If there's no nano-pick after unlocking X sector I'm afraid you may have not installed the mod correctly.
Are you on "Offended Koala" version? The mod method changed a bit, so there's a bit of confusion abound.
You just need to merge tierradium, the nano-pick and the tieroengine recipes into your other player.config file and delete the radium one. You will probably have to re-unlock the x sector to get the recipes (use a durasteel tech upgrade).
At which biome does crystal spawn? I've been searching for five hours straight and couldn't find a single one at a maximum(10) level planet with no luck.
Magma and volcanic planets I believe. You will typically find them in patches along the ground, or even some special types of trees. I've heard you can find them in cave pockets very rarely also.
They can be a bit too hard to find sometimes..
If it gets too much, you can always hand edit tieroengine.recipe file in the mods/Radium/recipes/starter/crafting table/ to change the requirements.
A bit more on this: I found enough crystals to make the omega sector map on a level 9 magma planet within a couple of minutes, mostly from crystal trees. Also remember that the plants there often break down into crystals when you axe them.
Seems like a pretty awesome mod BUT, I am having huge amounts of trouble finding these ice crystals for the map. I have visited around 20 tundra and snow planets, all of them being the highest level except for 3 or so. Anyone know where I can find them?
Crashing will occur if you installed the mod and didn't start a new character, unfortunately it's just the way Starbound works at the moment when adding new sectors. If you check your starbound.log file in the root folder of your Starbound installation, you will probably see a log entry that says it cannot find the omega sector key.
If this is a new character, then let me know what error the log produces; I was pretty extensive with testing the mod, but could never get older characters to add the omega sector properly
This should grant you the recipes without crashing, and also access to higher level planets. Note that it's possible that planets will either move or be destroyed in sector X with this fix.
If the game crashes when you attempt to load your game, you will need to restore the mods/Radium/celestial.config file from the mod and I will be horribly out of ideas at this point.

Edit: This is the crash log we are getting.

edit mods/Radium/celestial.config with a text editor
remove the following:
{
"id" : "sectoro",
"name" : "Omega Sector",
"sectorSeed" : 357261988431,
"prefix" : "Omega",
"sectorSymbol" : "/celestial/sector/o.png",
"hueShift" : 90,
"worldParameters" : {
"threatLevel" : [10, 25],
"unlockedBiomes" : [ "arid", "desert", "forest", "snow", "moon", "jungle", "grasslands", "magma", "tentacles", "tundra", "volcanic"]
}
}
edit sectorx's threat levels from 5,10 to 5,25
"worldParameters" : {
"threatLevel" : [5, 10],
it should look like this:
"worldParameters" : {
"threatLevel" : [5, 25],
"unlockedBiomes" : [ "arid", "desert", "forest", "snow", "moon", "jungle", "grasslands", "magma", "tentacles", "tundra", "volcanic"]
}
},
^ remove the comma here also, or the game will crash!
save the file
edit mods/Radium/items/generic/celestial/tieroengine.celestial
change"sectorUnlock" : "sectoro",
to"sectorUnlock" : "sectorx",
save the file
This should grant you the recipes without crashing, and also access to higher level planets. Note that it's possible that planets will either move or be destroyed in sector X with this fix.
If the game crashes when you attempt to load your game, you will need to restore the mods/Radium/celestial.config file from the mod and I will be horribly out of ideas at this point.
Hope this is helpful.
