I love it! It looks fantastic! However, I'm sorry to say I've found something else to use. It's a much larger ship. It's the Human Mothership Revived, on the Steam Nexus. Still, great ship, would absolutely recommend!

Hey guys. I'm currently handling update 6 of Starbound, otherwise known as the "Enraged Koala" version. I have tried almost every tutorial here in this post for the USS Gilgamesh. The last tutorial I tried before I posted this was Painshadow's method of using the new ship. I currently have 4 existing characters, all human. I really want the USS Gilgamesh to work so I could store most of my stuff in my ship and not in my inventory. Could somebody explain briefly and use easy words (understandable words, what I lack in vocabulary, I make up for grammar.). I would prefer a video tutorial, but if an explanation is easy to understand, then it might just help. Thanks.
alright I'll give it another try: 1. on the files page you will need to download BOTH: -"modinfo file for Enraged Koala - REQUIRED" and -"Plus 1 - USS Gilgamesh - with working airlock" 2. in your steam library right click "Starbound" and select "Propertys". 3. in the window that pops up go to the "Local Files" tab and click the "BROWSE LOCAL FILES..." button. 4. in the window that pops up, open the File folder called "mods" and in it create a new folder called "Gilgamesh" 5. in this new "Gilgamesh" folder extract the files you downloaded in step 1. 6. the "Gilgamesh" folder should now have the following 3 things in it: - a File folder named "objects" - a File folder named "ships" - and a .MODINFO File named "Plus1EnragedKoala"
This should have installed the mod, you can test it by creating a new human character, if a new human does not now have the ship something has gone wrong. If it does then close the game and continue as follows.
7. repeat steps 2 and 3 8. in the window that pops up, open the File folder called "player" and in it create a new folder called "oh god everythings on fire" 9. now COPY all files to the "oh god everythings on fire" folder. 10. Start the game again and open up your old characters, putting everything you want to keep into your inventory, then close the game again. 11. repeat steps 2 and 3 12. in the window that pops up, open the File folder called "player" and in it DELETE all files that have "shipworld" in their name.(Make sure you get every last one, the names are quite long and might be getting cut off.) 13. Start the game again and congratulations on your new upgraded ship.
If this didn't work and you want your old ships back, repeat steps 2, 3 and 12, then put everything in the "oh god everythings on fire" folder back into the "player folder", because I am STUMPED
I'm sorry, but this mod was from before you could upgrade ships, so is no longer compatible out of the box (and I have no idea how the new ship files work) Any one is free to try and make it compatible, but I have since abandoned the game.
you pretty much can't do much at all when it comes to modding things, pirating things, or even installing many indie games unless you have a way to deal with compressed files.
Hey, just wondering: How do I use this with MadTulip's Spaceship Mod? Because his mod adds a new default ship for each of the races, do I just overwrite?
I only have one problem with the Gilgamesh, that being that I can't put anything on the background (like "Mess Hall" signs or planetary status displays). Other than that... SO - MUCH - SPACE.
So. I downloaded Aeon's masterpiece, considering it should work after trying to find my way. First, i read the Readme to get it in, putting it in the Asset/Ships Folder, didn't work. I read some of the Posts properly, downloaded the Files needed and got it to be properly put there...
But i get an Error for Starting Starbound with my Character everytime? I might be missing something. I'll investigate further, and hopefully there's something i was missing.
Help! I can't get it working :/ I followed the steps that were given in the desc. but when I go back in the game the player is in the normal ship again .. Any suggestions of what i'm doing wrong?
Not sure if anyone helped so here goes! Place the full folder into Starbound mods folder. Place the "Plus1EnragedKoala.modinfo" folder into that folder. Next, extract/drop drag the "objects" AND "ships" folders' within the "Plus-1-Gilgamesh-Airlock" (if you use that one) into the main Starbound folder. Overwrite if prompted. This is the procedure i used and it works great. Although some minor fps issues when in the ship, but nothing to hinder game play while in it
I can't place wall decorations on the walls? Trying to put a Mess Hall sign up, but can't. Can't put anything that hangs of the wall anywhere in the ship.

I've separated things to make future version updates easier for all, (especially me).

Have a good one mate.

All you have to do is build out some background from a wall then remove the excess

Great work, Aeon. Great applause.
