Last Light of Dawn - In the Heart of Shadow was primarily designed to be played in multiplayer COOP, but also works in single player. Feel free to create public lobbies. The Last Light of Dawn - In the Heart of Shadow Mod has a different version number than the original game, so other players who do not have Last Light of Dawn installed will not be able to join your lobby. Note that Last Light of Dawn does not check for different mod versions. It is best to write your mod version in the server name. This mod only works with the Steam & GOG version of the game. Other platforms such as Windows Store are currently not supported.
To play multiplayer COOP, everyone must have the same version of the mod installed to avoid problems.

Last Light of Dawn ... ... is the ultimate Space Hulk: Deathwing experience. The goal of this mod is to create a hardcore gaming experience while at the same time improving the game balance compared to vanilla and allowing for smoother gameplay. Genestealers are smarter and more dangerous, but also the Deathwing Terminators can make use of an improved arsenal. But even new players should be able to survive the game on the easiest difficulty levels. Provided they have already bought their first character upgrades.

--- New Sound Effects ---
Over 280 reworked and replaced sound files create a new acoustic experience that, along with the significantly darker and more immersive environment, will send shivers down your spine.
The number of active light sources has been greatly reduced. The corridors of abandoned spaceship sectors are now much darker, restricting the player's view.
When trying to reactivate the old engines in Chapter 02 by the hybrids, some of the old engines burned out. And since the air extraction system no longer works properly in this part of the ship, large sections of the old ship are covered in thick smoke. As the interior lighting is also not working, visibility is significantly reduced in this part of the Space Hulk.
Personalize your favorite classes and weapons even more! With Update 3.1, Psionic Awakening, the first “builds” were introduced for several classes such as the Chaplain, Assault & Librarian.
Builds are linked perks that can only be equipped together and can drastically change the gameplay of a class. Related perks can be recognized by the fact that they have the same symbol or even the same name.
Each class also has access to the “Blessed Blood” perk, which gives each class automatic life regeneration.

- THUNDERLORD - Reduces the cooldown of Chain Lightning by 50%, but increases the cooldown of Shockwave by 50%.

Also, the perk that allows the Skull-Bolter Drone to fire missiles can now stay equipped with all builds at all times!
--- New weapon balance --- The time to kill of all weapons has been modified! Deathwing Terminators deal increased damage with all weapons. Enemies suffer stronger stagger effects when taking damage. As weapons with area damage scale too strongly with the increased spawn rate of genestealers, the area damage of most weapons has been reduced or removed.
The Skull-Bolter Drone now fires Vengeance projectiles with higher armor penetration.

Heavy Stubber and Autogun no longer deal damage to players.
Hybrid Psykers now have a longer recharge time for their Psy attack. Players now have significantly more time to react to Psykers.
Once a Hybrid Psyker makes visual contact with a player, it will randomly teleport away and perform its Psy Attack after a period of time. No further line-of-sight is required.
Better AI. Genestealers will now use significantly more cover to protect themselves from attacks. They will wait until they can attack as a group.
Unstoppable swarm ! Faster and more dangerous genestealers. Genestealers spawn more often and in larger groups and are more aggressive.
Broodlord has been reworked and is now even deadlier!
Scythe Strain have been reworked. They will now deliver deadly and dynamic boss battles. Watch out for their charge attack !
Dangerous Bossfights! Broodlords and Scythe Strains can now reach all areas of the map and are no longer blocked by doors or small corridors.
You can't hide, they will find you! Scythe Strains now spawn at level start somewhere on the map in hunting mode. Once they can find a way to the player, they will track him down and attempt to kill.
Number of simultaneous particle effects per frame has been tripled

The Machine Spirit has quarantined the ship sections. All entrances are blocked. Blessing or curse? Players must make their way through the blocked corridors while fending off the Genestealer attacks.
All doors are blocked! Doors have 550 life points and have to be opened with muscle strength, since no one in the Deathwing Squad thought about taking a chain fist ... Melee weapons with higher damage like the Thunderhammer cause more damage to the doors faster than melee weapons such as the Medikit or the Forcesword or the Cruzios! Additional spawns. On some maps one or more Scythe Strains now spawn at level start. The Olethros is under quarantine... but you still have to struggle through the ship sections. Are you sure you want to break down the door?
--- OTHERS --- Turrets are now always active. Doors are now always closed by default.
Additional vanilla bug fixes such as the "warrior spawn bug" and the "white screen and never ending game bug when the bomb explodes in the special mission".

FAQ: Q:Can I use the mod without the binaries? A: Yes ! The binaries are only there so that you can create a public lobby without a password, and only players with the same binaries from the mod can join you!
Q:Does this mod work in COOP? A: Yes, it works without problems in co-op mode, provided that everyone has installed the mod in the same version and no one joins who has not installed the mod.
Q:Do other players also need to have the mod installed? Or is it enough if only the host has installed the mod? A: No, all players must have the mod installed, both host and clients, to avoid gamebreaking bugs.
Q: The mod doesn't work for me? A: Unfortunately the mod only works with the Steam version of the game. GOG and Microsoft Store are not supported by me because, 1. I do not own these versions. 2. it would probably be too much work to find and fix the problems. If you want, you can port the mod to the appropriate platform yourself.

GENESTEALERS & HYBRIDS
Fixes a problem where Genestealers simply disappear when killed.
Adjustments to a few sound effects of Genestealer.
Warrior Genestealers should now use their ranged attacks like Spit more often.
Assault Genestealers (Scythe Strains) should stop using spit and focus on their melee attacks.
Fixes a problem that sometimes causes hybrids to run on the ceiling or on walls.
Thorax Swarm should now be able to attack the player again.
Adjustments to the collision of Genestealer, Hunter & Warrior to fix an issue causing them to get stuck on certain climbing sections. This happens, for example, in Chapter 5 by the turret in the small room at the small door, just before the first mission objective.
If Genestealers can no longer find a path to the player, they no longer just die out of nowhere.This sometimes happened right in front of the player or in the middle of a fight when Genestealers couldn't land a hit on the player for some time, or when they were held back or blocked by other Genestealers.
Adjustments to the behavior and pathfinding of the Scythe Strain.
The Broodlord's Warp ability now deals area damage. The animation speed at which the Broodlord uses his Psy attacks has been increased by 35%. The Broodlord now uses some of its psy attacks during combat without animation.
OTHERS
Barachiel no longer needs a Comp Patch to reload the Assault Cannon.The comp patch is now only needed if you want to play the singleplayer campaign. It is no longer required for the singleplayer special missions.
Fixes a problem where the Broodlord in Chapter 5 in the Geneseed Chamber does not climb out of the pipeline, but simply pops out of the air and freezes in the air for a few seconds. Widened the right corridor in Chapter 5 at the start of the Chapter to avoid Genestealers getting stuck in the environment. (Was a vanilla bug) Fixed an issue where the NPC Terminators Barachiel and Nahum were stuck in the environment and couldn't move or go through doors. Increases the movement speed of the NPC Terminators Barachiel and Nahum.
Reduces health points of all doors by 200.

Genestealer Animations: Increases the speed of most Genestealer animations by ~5%. No Changes to Broodlord and Aberrant.
Increases the number of frames for most Genestealer animations by 25% for Movement Animations and 10% for Attack Animations. Increases the smoothness. Also increases the speed of animations and movements. They move now faster and attack faster. No Changes to Broodlord and Aberrant.
Maps: 1) Removes one Broodlord spawn at level start on Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 and Chapter 9.
2) Reduced the health of the Glitched Door at Squad Gideon in Chapter 1 from 750 to 585.
3) Turret's health has been reduced by 50%. From 300 to 150, non-Librarian players should now have an easier time destroying Turrets.
Player Force Feedback: 1) Force feedback adjustments to individual actions (WIP):
1.Terminator players no longer wobble like jello when shot by hybrids with auto guns and heavy stubbers.
2. Force feedback from turret fire has been reduced.
Sound: 2) The sound cue for torches has been removed. You should no longer hear fire crackling from non-existent fire sources.
Graphics: 1) Light quality, reflection quality, Ambient Occlusion quality and texture quality have been improved. Problems with performance? Write me on Discord and I will upload a mod version without improved graphics.

Purgatory Sword: Changes the impact class to that of the Librarian's Force Sword. Now gives much better feedback on a hit or kill and now has the cool slash sound of the Force Sword.
Heavy Flamer: Removes Reliability Module from Heavy Flamer so that the Heavy Flamer jams more often to reduce the "spamming" of a lot of AoE. The Heavy Flamer should now correctly deal Friendly Fire damage. Edit: For whatever reason, the Heavy Flamer has no weapon jamming for me. I'll have another look at this in one of the next updates.
Effects: Increases the visual duration of effects. You can now see your destruction in the environment for longer.
Librarian: Warp Disruptors can now be found in Upgrade 4. Players will now have to decide whether to use Battle Psyker or Warp Disrupt as a perk, as both perks affect and buff the melee damage of the Psi Weapons, Force Axe and Force Sword.
Heavy: Crusader, Firestorm, and Proximity CD Reducer have been removed from Upgrade 2 because it is not worth changing 10% armor for them. In Upgrade 1, Mine 15% CD Reducer has been replaced with Mine 20% CD Reducer.
Assault: Upgrade 3 replaced 20% armor bonus with 15% armor bonus. In return, Upgrade 4 now has a 5% armor bonus. Players will now have to decide if they want more armor or more boss damage or more critical hits from Upgrade 4.
Thorax Swarm Effect Reduction and Laser Damage Reduction have been removed from Upgrade 4 because it's not worth giving up more armor or damage. And the Assault already has 20% ranged damage reduction from Lion's Courage.
Apothecary: In Upgrade 1, the 40% acid damage reduction has been reduced by 10% to 30%.
Tactical: Skull Bolter Cooldown Reduction is now the only perk in Upgrade 1 that ensures players will equip it, as it reduces the cooldown of the ability to 66 seconds and is the main feature of the Tactical Rework. Removed the 15% melee damage boost and 10% ranged damage boost from Upgrade 4, as the flat damage bonus would likely outweigh the benefits of the other perks (Skull Bolter Missiles and Beast Slayer - 15% damage boost on larger Genestealer). Slayer of the Beast can now be found in Upgrade 2.
Chaplain: Removes Slayer of the Beast from the Chaplain, as the Chaplain is usually a boss killer (his Shield abilities guarantee a Broodlord kill) and does not need to be buffed for it. Added Burning Absolution to Caliban's Spear. The perk is now always active and does not need to be manually selected. Added Redeemer to the Cruzios. The perk is now always active and does not require manual reselection. Removes the 15% Meele damage increase from Upgrade 4. Adamantium Will can now be found at Upgrade 1.
