I love it except for everything turning blue when in front of the sky. I'm not sure if that's supposed to happen but it's very distracting because objects change color as I move.
Thanks so much! Can you take a screen of what you mean? It would help me fix. Without seeing, I would guess it's either the bloom or ambient light causing it. I have them set to toggle keys. Does turning them off get rid of the blue effect, if so, which one was tnr culprit?
Some little summary of non-positive comments here. Preset is bright. Very bright. Looking on this screenshot. Giant skin is so bleached that texture details are almost lost. Swold blade is almost white. Mace is half-white, when it should be grey. Despite it's not under direct sunlight. Grass is over-Illuminated, so it looks like white too. When it should be brown. You can hardly see green trees, brown grass and grey rocks. Because each color is almost white, especially under sunlight. It may look cool on little screenshots, but ingame, in addition to overall "white" look it will make player tired very fast.
It's your preset, sure, and you're his daddy, god and master, but it would be great if you correct that moment when "bright" became "bleached". Some good examples are Dahaka's/AEON ENB presets (original Skyrim). You may find some passion there.
Thanks so much for the feedback and for taking the time the break things down in a very helpful way. I'll consider your changes, though I kinda was going for a white-out look, almost. I can appreciate that some people may not enjoy this though, but for me, even after hours of looking at it, my eyes haven't grown tired.
Perhaps I could do an optional version that darkens the picture. But yea, the grey rocks and desaturated/white trees with the sky still retaining its crisp blue from Dolomite is kinda exactly what I was goin for. Same for grass.
Really appreciate the honest and detailed feedback!
Oh and the whiteness of the blade is emphasized because it's already almost white compared to many swords, which are more gray in comparison plus the optional bloom is on full force right there. But that if I make it stop brightening the blade there, it would also stop it from triggering in the other shots where it just makes a cool flash on the sword's hilt, or across certain reflective armor pieces, for example, which is the entire reason I added it in the first place. Also I like the glow, lol, but that's besides the point in this case.
You may like the vivid weathers version I just uploaded. For now, at least, despite my trying I can't make things appear as crisp (or harsh, depending on how you look at it) as the Dolomite. I intend to, but may need make an ENB to do what I want. Anyway, you may like that version. Pics tonight. Hopefully vids of both version tonight too.
stuff you did looks really nice, however when i use your reshade black borders show up on the top and bottom part of my screen, and i dont know why. i've used other reshades to test if they do the same thing, but only yours seem to do that. any fix? cause i really like the style of your reshade
Thanks so much! I'll refer you to the controls section on the description page. What you're referring to are the cinematic black bars, and I've set them toggle on and off with the "0" key, not on the numberpad.
They're used in films all the time and... well I love them, lol, and many ENBs will have them, but I know many people don't like having the screen covered, so I made them toggleable
Hope this helps, really appreciate the kind words, -Merc
WOW! That's a high compliment! I remember looking at that ENB on Hodi's youtube and then seeing how complicated it was to install and I was just like "nope." I was new to PC gaming/trying to even install mods a year ago, plus I was trying to run Oldrim on windows 10 and just could never defeat the memory cap issues. Nothing but insane stutters after a couple minutes no matter what I did. So glad Beth released 64 bit SSE.
Anyway, thanks, I was always envious when I saw others using Dovah Naakin. It was something so crisp and bold about it. My next big project will be converting Dovahkiin Rising to an ENB... or I'll attempt to anyway. Never made an ENB before. Just started making ReShades about two months ago.
Then not for you...? Not sure what you want me to say, there's already plenty of dark, warm Reshades and ENBs out there, so I wanted to make something basically the opposite of those and that's what I did. Unless you're referring to optional sharpness or something?
Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I can't do anything with your feedback, ya know? It's too nonspecific.
Thanks! I encourage you to give it a go, as I've set the sharpening increase to a toggle key so you can immediately tell if that's what's bothering you. Controls for all toggle keys on the description page
I should note I play with TAA which makes the image overly dull and blurry. If using FXAA or no AA, then I could certainly see disabling my sharpening. You will give up some image clarity though, but I've used other techniques besides sharpening to increase image clarity as well
Appreciate the feedback, hope you'll try it out, -Merc
THANKS SO MUCH KOJAK! (oh s#*!!, it's Kojak! ). Thanks for Dolomite! It's really great so far. Love blue skies and tree colors in the default setup with the recommended ini settings... also love being able to have so many extra controls with the ini, generally.
3D rain droplets are cool too. I could go on, but yea.
