ABOUT LOCK-ON

Just like in DMC, this mod needs a lock-on system to trigger certain skills and to make the flying swords hit enemies. Thanks to Ershin updating his plugin, version 1.1 of this mod uses the target lock mechanic of True Directional Movement.

This requires at least version 2.2.5 of TDM, so make sure you've updated your TDM before continuing here.

While locked on, Summoned Swords will auto-target the selected enemy. Like in DMC, some skills such as Storm Blades can ONLY be used while locked on to a target, but for some I added a function without lockon. This is detailed in the SKILLS section below.




SKILL LIST



MIRAGE BLADE

Effect: Summon a single spectral blade and launch it at high speed. If an enemy is targeted, it will auto-hit that enemy, deal damage and sometimes stagger them. If no enemy is targeted, it will fly in the direction that the player is facing. Can be fired repeatedly by quickly tapping the "Fire" input.

Input: Tap "Fire" input (default: C key)

Cast with Lock-On Target: Yes

Cast without Lock-On Target: Yes

Default base damage: 3 points damage to health +  1.5 points to magicka. Final damage is calculated taking into account the level of your Conjuration and Marksman skills. Effective damage is mitigated by target's magic resistance.

Default stagger chance: 10%

Default cost: 3 points of magicka



BLISTERING BLADES

Effect: Summons 8 Mirage Blades at once. They will hover in a formation around you and then all fire at the targeted area simultaneously.

Input: Lock-On + Forward + Fire to summon blades. Let go of any of these 3 inputs to fire all at once.

Cast without Lock-On Target: No

Default base damage: 24 points to health & 12 magicka

Default stagger chance: 8*10%

Default cost: 24 points of magicka



STORM BLADES

Effect: Summons 6 Mirage Blades around the targeted enemy. They will circle them for a while and then hit all at once, launching the enemy into the air.

Input: Lock-On + Back + Fire

Cast with Lock-On Target: Yes

Cast without Lock-On Target: No

Default base damage: 18 points to health & 9 magicka

Default stagger chance: 100%, Launch

Default cost: 18 points of magicka



SPIRAL BLADES

Effect: Summons 8 Mirage Blades around the player. They rotate around you, slashing enemies within range. Lasts for 30 seconds or can be cancelled at any time while active by inputting the command again. When deactivated or when the effect runs out, all blades will fire outward from the player as the center.

Input: Hold Fire for >0.7 seconds

Cast with Lock-On Target: No

Cast without Lock-On Target: Yes

Default base damage: 2 points to health & 1 magicka per single blade slash

Default stagger chance: 10% per single blade slash

Default cost: 3 points of magicka per second for as long as Spiral Blades is active (max duration 30sec)



HEAVY RAIN BLADES

Effect: Summons a large amount of blades above the target (or in the air in front of you, if there is no target). The maximum number of blades that can appear is 99 by default and can be customized. The actual number of blades will only be equal to {your current magicka} divided by {the magicka cost of a single blade}. All swords hover in the air for as long as you hold the input combintation. When you let go they rain down. Enemies are launched into the air on hit. If not more than one enemy was hit, a slow time effect is triggered for 2 seconds.

Input: Hold Forward + Back + Fire to summon blades. Let go of any of these 3 inputs to fire all at once.

Default base damage: 3 points to health & 1.5 magicka times the number of blades summoned

Default stagger chance: 100%, launch, time slowdown

Default cost: 3 points of magicka times the number of blades summoned. Will summon as many blades as your current magicka allows.



UNLIMITED MIRAGE BLADE WORKS



Effect: Multiplies the number of summoned blades for as long as you keep holding Fire, or until your magicka runs out. Maximum number is 99 by default, can be customized. The actual number of blades will only be equal to {your current magicka} divided by {the magicka cost of a single blade}. Swords will fire once you let go of the Fire input.

Input: Lock-On + Hold Fire input for >1 second

Cast with Lock-On Target: Yes

Cast without Lock-On Target: No






TRICK UP/AIR TRICK

Effect: At the moment when the summoned sword hits an enemy, you will quickly teleport/dash to its location. This can also be used without a targeted enemy, if the Summoned Swords hits an object, a wall or the floor and gets stuck in it, you can teleport to it. However without a target this is a bit buggy and can lead to undesirable situations. While the fired Sword is still in the air and has not yet hit anything, the teleport can be cancelled by just letting go of the Sprint input.

WARNING!
  • If you use Trick Up without a target enemy, only fire the swords onto surfaces within sight.
  • Do not use this in tight interior spaces or you might teleport through a wall and get stuck or fall out of bounds.
  • Be careful when targeting high and uneven places, you might fall once you reach the teleport destination.
  • Do not spam Summoned swords while holding Sprint. The swords will attempt to teleport you to every single one of them in order of their impact which may put you somewhere you don't want to be or freeze/crash the game if your PC is weak.



TRICK GRAB/DEVIL BRINGER

Effect: If the fired sword hits an enemy, this enemy will be pulled towards you and staggered. Works on all types, sizes and levels of creatures at the moment.

Input: Hold "Interact" + Fire OR hold "Interact" + Lock-On + Fire

Default cost: 10% of your max magicka




READ THIS

Summoned Swords are modified to never do damage to you, or your followers. However the actual swords will still collide with friendly NPCs and might get stuck in their body, or NPCs might react like they got hit. If you yourself get hit by a summoned sword, screen blood will still appear like you just took a hit. I can't change this at the moment.
Trick Up and Trick Down by themselves do no damage and you can use them on friendly/unaggressive NPCs.

UPDATE 1.0.2: The "hostile" condition has been removed from all damaging spells to try and fix the missing damage bugs people were reporting. This means that the swords will now deal damage to neutral NPCs. It's therefore recommended to consider using Simple Offense Suppression or a similar mod that prevents dealing damage to neutrals.




CUSTOMIZATION

HOTKEYS

Open the mod folder, navigate to \SKSE\plugins\dtryKeyUtil\config\custom\, open the file SummonSwords Keys.ini

Again, the default hotkeys are:
Fire Sword = C
Teleport to Sword = hold "Sprint" input
Pull enemy = hold "Interact/Activate" input



MOD SETTINGS

MirageBladeDamageRate=3
base health damage of a single mirage blade hit. additionally, mirage blades will deal magicka damage by 1/2 of this amount. final damage is affected by caster's conjuration and marksman skill as well as the target's magic resistance.

SpiralBladeDamageRate=2
base damage of a single spiral blade slash. magicka damage per slash is 1/2 of this amount.

MirageBladeCost=3
magicka cost for summoning a single mirage blade. 
also magicka cost per second of having spiral blades active.

StormBladesCost=18
magicka cost for casting Storm Blades (6 mirage blades). default is 6 times the cost of a single Mirage Blade.

BlisteringBladesCost=24
magicka cost for casting Blistering Blades (8 mirage blades). default is 8 times the cost of a single Mirage Blade.

MirageBladeStaggerChance=20
change in % for a mirage blade hit to cause stagger (20% chance means: on average every 5th hit will stagger)

MirageBladeForceStagger=false
new in version 1.0.2. many combat mods such as Poise disable or change vanilla stagger effects, meaning that the staggers in this mod will most likely not work properly. enable this to force a scripted stagger animation on hit (stagger chance remains the same). disabled by default.

MirageBladeLaunchStrength=10
max force that the target will be launched into the air with when hit by storm blades or rain blades. the actual force depends on their current health: near full health they will just trip and ragdoll, near zero health they experience the max force that you specified here.
set to 0 to disable enemy launching.

MirageBladesMaxNumber=99
maximum number of mirage blades that can get summoned when charging the spell (see "Unlimited Mirage Blade Works" skill description).

if set to true, all rain blades will spawn instantly. if set to false, they spawn consecutively (one at a time) so you can cancel the summoning mid-way and better control how much magicka you want to spend for this skill.
