I made this mod to give people with crappy computers the opportunity to play Skyrim. Yes, it is simply downscaled textures. Yes, there are other mods that do this... I myself have a another mod that does this called HASHESH P2
But also... YES, THIS IS THE MOST DRASTIC DOWNSCALING OF TEXTURES THERE IS (that doesn't make Skyrim look like an 8 bit video game) YES, downsizing textures is one of the biggest things you can do to gain FPS. and NO there is not another single mod whether it's using occlusion planes, deleting rocks or whatever that can do more for your GPU's fps than this mod. NO I am not exaggeratting.
Feel free to try and debate my claims I would like to find more mods that can do more with 1 file than mine. I welcome criticism but be courteous,
If your CPU and Ram are adequete and your Graphics/Vram is what is lacking than this mod will gain more FPS than you can handle if your Vram is adequete than this mod will do little for your FPS.

I guess my graphics card was on 100% because THIS MOD FREAKING WORKS. I installed the level 1 version and holy s#*! I gained so many FPS. I am not even joking lol, I went to like 90 - 100 on light zones and 50-60 on heavy areas while before i was struggling at 30 or so. Thank you for making this!!
All right, I am extremely curious. My CPU and Ram are adequate, I'd say, but my GPU is antique hardware ( RTX 1050 Ti ). I am running a heavily modded Skyrim ( 900 + mods ) and currently I am struggling to have more than 30 fps in outdoor areas. In forested areas it drops even further. Before I download, I 'd like to ask how much of an impact will have level 1 on textures and is it safe to install or uninstall midgame? Thanks in advance.
I am unable to say exact numbers for your gettup, but I would GUESS that this would probably get you into the 45-50 fps range with level 1. Level 3 you would probably get 60+.
I am curious as to what your actual results are compared to my guesses :)
I was experiencing high memory usage that caused CTD and FPS lag.
After using this mod, it reduced the VRAM and also provided stable FPS without any stutter. I downloaded level 3 first and was surprised by the boost in texture quality. However, it has a slightly cartoony look, so I decided to switch to level 1 now. HUGE THANKS for the HELP!!
I use a potato pc that can normally only run vanilla skyrim at like 20 fps indoors and 10 - 15 outdoors and it takes around 20 seconds - 3 minutes to load some areas This mod + using a mod such as BethINI lets me get close to a consistant 30 fps outdoors and around 40 indoors with some areas loading within like 2 seconds and the longest so far taking around 8 seconds to load into, even with using a full mod setup for all the legacy of the dragonborn stuff.

What's the difference between your mod and this one Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) ?
Can i use both ?
It seems like the author cleaned all of SSE, as did I. One mod will overwrite the other. Use whichever their mod is equivalent to my level 1.
