    V1.0.2
    - Add the correct number to the main flag of the mesh.

    New Main File
    - Add version 72 and 128 Tri. Use this if during fog you see a square around the player.

    V1.0.1
    - Fix the fog bug by increasing the number of Tri. 2 => 32

Is this an exclusive ENB fix or can I use it for vanilla?

Was the original 2 and the new files starting at 32? What would give me the biggest performance boost? I dont care about the fog bug because i already removed fog.

If you don't care about the fog, take the V1.0 in the old files, this is the maximum performance ! ;)
      V1: 2048 => 2 Tri / 2048*25=51200 Tri - FYX  => 2*25=50 Tri
       V1.0.1: 2048 => 32 Tri / 2048*25=51200 Tri - FYX => 32*25=800 Tri

It would be great if anyone has examples of specific FPS gains from this (ideally with a spread of low and high-end hardware and graphical settings).

I saw no fps gains at Riverwood where my fps dips into the 30s. But I have a 2070super w/8gb ram and fast cpu. It's hard to do an exact test since my fps seems to jump around a lot.

I was skeptical of returning players, up to gaining 6FPS in some areas.(It's true that in the end it only decreases by 50K Tri.)I really think it depends on your PC configuration and mod list. (which is different for everyone.)
So I did a test myself in areas where there is water using this mesh. (That's what this mod is for)
      I'm not a testing expert...

      My config:
      W10 64bit
      AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
      16GB DDR4
      AMD Radeon RX 6750XT
      500GB SSD
      1920x1080 screen

What today represents a mid-range PC config. I think?

I loaded mods like "Nature of the Wild Lands" with ENB and others to bring my FPS down a lot and find areas where the FPS is lowest.
By making a backup at each location. Close the game and restart the game. (Reason? Because you will have a big difference if you do the direct test. Objects, trees, NPCs, LODs... will not load the same way.) Test without this FYX, and with this FYX. (I double checked and averaged these areas)

Post your tests if you wish.

      Yes, i'm getting similar results.

As a general point for anyone reading this, I have a NVIDIA 1050ti, with ENB running at about 30-40fps in most exteriors. The number of triangles (as seen in my ENB GUI) can be from 2,000,000-2,500,000 triangles (facing in the direction of Riften and Goldenglow estate, looking across the water), to 6,000,000 triangles around Morthal (with a high poly tree mod) where my fps can drop to 21-28 fps. Different players will get different results based upon their graphics card ENB (or without) and the type of mods they have installed. If you can get 15-20 million triangles per frame at 60fps (and especially if you capped your fps to 60fps but the GPU can go higher) then you're not going to see any difference with this mod because your graphics card can easily handle whatever it needs to render each frame.

But if you have low poly mods and still have a low frame rate due to a low-end GPU, then installing this mod should give you a small boost in frame rate because the proportion of triangles this mod saves compared to the overall number triangles your GPU is rendering per frame is much greater than players with high end graphics cards.

For example, my frame rate around Riften can be (on average) 30fps with 2,250,000 triangles. Saving 50,000 with this mod is 50,000/2,250,000 is a saving of over 2.2% of triangles. But if you're easily rendering over 15 million triangles then the saving is only 50,000 / 15,000,000=0.3%, which wont really show in the frame rate.

So it all depends upon your graphics card and how many traingles it can render at its frame rate, and whether your fps is capped (which means your GPU has excess and unused render capacity at the end of each frame). Also note, this mod only reduces the number of matrix "calculations" for the triangles (e.g. transformations, clipping, etc)..

I usually tweak the Enb to the possible maximum quality while around 42 locked fps, and when going through the stream near Riverwood nordwest the fps usually drops to 35 for a couple of seconds. With this mod it doesn't. It is 41-42. The mod is solid and it works. My card is an old good RX 470. Over 400 mods, more or less balanced to work good together. The mod effect is mostly evident for the old 1-4 Gb graphics cards. The other effective mod that helps solve fps drops, not near water but in cities - is Major City FPS Boost. It just disables the processing of surrounding landscape outside the city walls, when you are inside the city. Unless you are on a tower somewhere in Solitude you don't see the outside world anyway. Just a usual Bethesda overlook, consuming a lot of resources. This MCFB mod will most likely give you additional 5-10 fps. This is what can be called expert optimization as well as this great mod.

That definitely sounds more like a choice rather than an optimisation. Sacrificing outside views is pretty big.

    ???

Or is there a catch to this aswome mod.

Vouch this is a nice mod to win some FPS's when using a lot of resource-consuming features (especially with ENB, going from 21 to 24 is already a LOT).

However, it is appropriate to linger on something --which may be the reason why the water has so many tris-- : on ACMOS map for the least (and I assume every other LOD32-generated content), using this FYX makes the water in the map very low-poly, making the very detailed map very goofy (water being way more invasive on low TRIs, you sometimes can't even see LOD32 generated bridges above the water).

Which is just one of the reasons I use paper map mods, that and a 3d map is just not immersive for me.

In theory you won't have any conflict so it doesn't matter. But if you want to be sure put it after.^^

Lol thanks. I've got like 15-20 fps + but it's from 150ish to 170ish so "I guess I don't have potatoes in my rig after all" :P I was looking for that square you mention in the files...no one found but those freakin stripes above and below the player like a moving horizon....I guess all skyrim players know what I mean...is there a way to get rid of those finally? Mostly in watery area I guess..? Those horizontal lines on the water alway in front of me?

I tried it with water for ENB but found no bugs or glitches. However, i don't actually use ENB. But the water itself looked the same to me.
