    Hey everybody!

Thanks for your interest in my work! Check out my Discord Server if you want to keep up with what I'm doing next. I also have a Patreon if you'd like to follow me and support me there.

Starfrost relies on a couple of recently updated mods. Please make sure you have the most recent updates of Survival Mode Improved, Blade & Blunt, and Mysticism.

If you have any problems with getting the "correct" tooltips to display for Starfrost's injuries, you are likely using an outdated version of Skyrim's Update ESM. Please update your ESMs as soon as possible; even if you're one of the players who wish to remain on 1.5.97, you must update your ESMs using the Best of Both Worlds patchers if you intend to continue downloading new mods.

Hello, I'm enjoying this mod and the whole suit, thank you very much!
Just noticed a small issue feature while playing as a bosmer, anytime I get a cold debuff I go faster instead of slower during combat. Not sure if the race is relevant info.
May be a thing on my end only so what could I check to find possible conflicts? I don't have any other mod for survival effects afaik

I feel like my guy never needs to eat lol.
He eats like 1 bread for a whole day or more. Hungry debuff rarely comes on.

Loving this overhaul, perfectly hits what I want from survival. I do just have an issue though:

Does this mod add the warmth and cold icons next to the compass at the top of the screen? I'm trying to find where to disable them but can't find which mod is adding it.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the great mod. I recently updated from 1.2.7 to 1.2.8 and I can no longer see the Hungry, Very Hungry and Famished debuffs in the magic effects menu, even on a new save. The regen debuff seems to apply correctly though, and I see the notifications, so it's only the effect that's not showing up in the magic menu. Downgrading to 1.2.7 makes them appear again.

There seems to be a simple oversight in the records of the "MAG_HungerEffectTooltop" magic effects in the esp that causes them to be hidden in the game's UI. I was able to solve it on my end just by removing the "hidden in UI" flag from each of those three records using SSEedit.

I liked Starfrost a fair bit better before hunger. The positive buffs from Gourmet are a perfectly adequate incentive to interact with food in Skyrim already, and in a manner that isn't annoying. It made me want to eat food in Skyrim, and not have to eat food. I thought that was brilliant!

I'm adept enough at tinkering to disable the hunger system myself on my end, but I thought I would register my opinion, for what it's worth - Simonrim as a whole's original take on food was simply better. I read GingaBoy's comment that convinced you to add this and I do get his perspective. Sometimes I forget to eat food too! And the punishment is already built into Gourmet: I miss out on 10% XP and some really nice regen buffs. And boy, I feel it when I don't have them, at least until the extreme endgame. So in my view, hunger, unlike say, cold, is just redundant - you already did this one and you did it better.

Hm, I’m not sure I agree, but it wouldn’t be hard to find a way to disable hunger.

When you fall below 50% Health, incoming attacks will have a 5% chance to injure you. When you fall below 50% Health, this chance will increase to 25%

A very solid survival mod for sure ! It complements very well my modlist which is already quite punishing, without adding to the punishment. And the fact it's designed to work in conjunction with the rest of your mods makes them all better. Thank you for creating all of these !

I found a slight incompatibility between Starfrost and the Survival Mod Improved patch of Your Own Thoughts. I noticed the patch brings back the "Debilitated" effect and very possibly many others as well. For me LOOT placed the patch below Starfrost, so as far as I know, putting the YOT patch above Starfrost should fix it. Probably that it will override the first person messages from the patch though, but I haven't tested yet.

EDIT: Upon testing it does work (also with any other patch for SMI I guess). But you'd be better patching it yourself to forward the changes you want.

Is there any posibility we can get a variant of the FOMOD without Hand to Hand dependancy? Would like to try it with the mod consetellations which adds its own hand to hand skill tree.

The Injury Addon is the only thing that has the dependency, and I don't want to maintain multiple versions of that, so no.

Understandable, I really like the additional spell effects from that addon but trying to avoid having 2 hand to hand skill trees following the new custom skills framework release. I'll have a play in xEdit see if I can't solve it myself but would love if compatability could be considered one day. Thanks for your reply!

I can't seem to get the hunger mechanic to function. I have Gourmet installed, just updated it to see if that would fix it, and I have its patches installed, but still I see nothing about hunger in my buffs nor in the description of the food. The food durations have been cut in half from 1200, however, so that works? I just tried scouring the .ini file, but I don't see anything referencing hunger (in terms of enabling or disabling it). I'm on the latest Skyrim AE version, if that matters.

Tiredness and injuries work just fine (though I found injuries are not healed by the added restoration spell that says it should heal them).

I have all of the prerequisites, and Starfrost is set to load after Survival Mode Improved. I don't understand what's wrong. I've leveled to 41 with no hunger. :(

EDIT: Okay, I checked your discord and luckily someone had the same problem which you helped solve. Removed Starfrost Controller using player.removespell, re-added Starfrost Controller using player.addspell, now hunger works. Finally I can starve to death!

I’m actually really surprised that the console thing is necessary to be honest—usually my updates are pretty safe to install mid-game—but it’s one of those things where I didn’t realize it wasn’t working until it was too late for anyone who downloaded the first version of the mod with hunger.

Hi i'm on 1170 and had exactly the same problem solved with exactly the same method.
Since with the player.removespell and player.addspell it worked for the first time since don't know how many new games, and given that I am completely ignorant about this kind of things, >> is there a way to let these command shoots in automatic on new games? <<

Edit to add that I'm currently using Starfrost 1.2.4 and Gourmet 1.1.9 + Gourmet - Cooking Pots and Baking Ovens 1.0.0 + Survival Patch 1.0.1 and every other patches available in Gourmet's download.

Maybe you should put in an easy to follow tutorial on the whole console thing for people struggling? It is weird, but Skyrim will always be janky.

Also, some of the foods aren't changed. I'm looking at Beef Stew, and it says "Stamina increase by 25 points. Restores 2 stamina for 720 seconds," but the Hot Beef Stew says, "Health regeneration is increased by 50% for 600 seconds. Your cold level is reduced by 200 points."

It's not just the beef stew, there's a few others that look like they have their vanilla effects. Apple Cabbage Stew, Cabbage Potato Soup, Horker Stew, Potato Soup, Tomato Soup, Vegetable Soup, Hot Potato Crab Chowder, Hot Roasted Tomato Crab Bisque, and Venison Stew are all lacking % regeneration buffs in favor of the vanilla mild restores or 1/2 regeneration values for 720 seconds. Half of the foods seem to be changed by the mod, and the other half seem to be unaffected. These are just the recipes I have unlocked, and not accounting for baking. Is this intentional??

Nvm, I found the issue. WACCF_survival mode_patch.esp was overwriting Gourmet.esp for some ungodly reason, despite loading after. Forced Vortex to make a rule telling Gourmet.esp to overwrite WACCF_survival mode_patch.esp and now the foods seem to be the correct values.

Still unsure if Cure doesn't affects injuries, however.

Hopped into xEdit and, even with the latest version, Starfrost edits Survival Mode Improved's global variable "SMI_HungerShouldBeEnabled" from "1" to "0"

Like other users, hunger wasn't working, even with Gourmet installed and the latest Starfrost version. Starfrost is loaded after SMI in both panes of MO2 (overwriting the .ini and the esp).
So I changed it to 1 and Hunger worked again without having to rely on the console command.

No, that didn't happen. That global has absolutely nothing to do with the Hunger system in Starfrost, lol.

SimonMagus - I have the newest version and when I enable this mod, food loses hunger values. I've toggled enable/disable back and forth.

I say this with respect. Your mods are amazing.

UPDATE Could there be a conflict with: Survival Mode Improved - SKSE? I do have Starfrost loading after.

Running 1170. Modding with Vortex. I even reinstalled the latest version.

AdonisBatheus - your fix caused a CTD

Anyway, I have to uninstall this and play without. 😭

Starfrost does not use the Hunger system of Survival. Food is supposed to lose its hunger value.

UPDATE: OMG. I'm a  horse's patoot. If it's any consolation, perhaps some other less informed human will benefit from this thread.

Please allow me to SHOUT it out:  Don't expect food to just immediately restore your Hunger/Stamina. With this mod, don't forget to Sleep.

      ------

      OBSOLETE COMMENT.

But my character stills gets hungry, and I can't replenish Stamina. I eat cooked beef and cooked fish.

"After twelve hours without eating food, you will receive the Famished debuff. The effects of these buffs are as follows:

Hungry: Your Health, Magicka, and Stamina regenerate 10% slower."

      I am so confused. #LostInTheWoods

Was this designed with the Campfire mod in mind, or should I ditch it? I fear it might make injuries (maybe sleeping as well) pointless, more or less.
What was the general intent regarding such mods?
EDIT: I know that AE also have some sort of a camping system, but I only have 4 base micro-DLCs.

I use the CC camping mod myself, as long as your camping mod is taking up some of your carrying capacity I think it's fine? Carrying a tent is essentially carrying an injury repair kit, like you said.
