Just a token of appreciation. Really good mod!

Also, two small tips that helped me:
    1. You may want to run MO2 as Administrator;
    2. The second field (path) is usually just what it says already, the Data folder in your main game directory.

I've got a problem where I installed this and got everything working, but then later uninstalled and now I don't have any race menu whatsoever.

I got everything working but then didn't like the output, so I uninstalled RaceMenu, this, the patch, and the output files. If I create a new game, it just skips character creator, showracemenu brings nothing up, and any other way you can use to bring up the race menu doesn't work because it seems to simply not exist anymore.

EDIT: I've solved this, when you run the DIP patch (in my case Untarnished UI RaceMenu Patch), it breaks the relevant interface files from the original mod.

To fix, simply redownload the original mod (Untarnished UI), or redownload the original racesex_menu.swf.

    To reproduce this issue:
    1. Install RaceMenu, Untarnished UI, DIP
    2. Install RaceMenu Untarnished UI DIP Patch
    3. Run DIP and patch
    4. Uninstall everything including the DIP output except for Untarnished UI
    5. Your race menu is now gone

That issue is correct. But it cannot be solved. Untarnished UI has its own version of the Vanilla RaceMenu.
The only problem is that the RaceMenu mod and Vanilla RaceMenu are using the same path for the interface File. (Data/Interface/racesexmenu.swf)
When using RaceMenu (mod)  you should never have the vanilla RaceMenu option in Untarnished UI‘s fomod ticked. This will break RaceMenu.
If you would not have installed the Unatarnished UI‘s RaceMenu Vanilla patch, you would never had this issue.

      Yep that sounds correct.

Yes, almost everything can be avoided by carefully reading the fomods and mod pages.

I was already aware of vanilla racemenu untarnished thing. But as for it breaking your patch, I wouldn't have known without the testing.

Unfortunately, I don't know why it isn't working. My final suggestion would be that you run MO2 or Vortex as admin.

i ran MO2 as an admin and DIP crashes immediately now. Ill continue to poke around and try to figure out a solution, and i will post it here if i find one. Thank you for your quick responses.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. When it was saying Java not detected, I must've unchecked the mod. It works fine when running MO2 as an admin. Thank you!!!

Does this work on older windows? Or does this require Windows 10+?? The exe just will not do anything at all for me, I am on windows 8.1 currently. Java is up to date.

It requires Windows 10 1809+. Versions older than that may work but are definitely not supported.

I followed the video as best I could.  The path to the Patch it uses is the same as the SE folder/Data.... but my MO@ has my mods in the virtual user folder.  When I use that as an address, it doesn't seem to parct, and there is no "interface" option in my overwrite folder.

Any advice on how to use this would be appriciated. Thank you.

You have to select the Data folder in your game folder. You won't see your mods there outside of MO2 because MO2 virtualizes the folder.

I am also having the same problem. The output path is auto detected as the Skyrim game data folder. The patcher seems to run fine, but there is nothing in the Overwrite folder. I also don't see anything in the Temp folder where it did it's conversion either. Unless your code auto deletes everything that it creates there.

The temp folder gets deleted after patching and the output is written to the data folder of the game so that MO2 should detect it and put it in its Overwrite folder. The only reason I can think of why it wouldn't do that is because the interface files already exist which is the case if you either extracted the RaceMenu.bsa (in case of RaceMenu) or you already have other mods that modify those files.

seemed to work well for me but when it came time to remove it after it served it purpose it won't let me. says it needs administrator permission but even after I click that it won't let me get rid of it... is this intentional?!

No, you should be able to delete it like any other mod.

When the patcher scans for patches it doesn't look through the folder with all your mods but its own mod folder itself so it doesn't detect any patches. It also said no patches were loaded when you manually select the paths. How can this be remedied? I use vortex as well.

For those of you using vortex, you must choose the exe in the folder in your data folder not the vortex mods folder. Also, be sure you dont have the racemenu patch active from the Nordic UI fomod, that overwrites this mod.

    • I use Racemenu often, not sure what this Mod does exactly.
    • Is this is a patch for Racemenu, I am un aware of how closed permissions affects mods like Racemenu, could you please explain a little how this works and fixes said issues?
    • I saw this Mod on a Youtube channel and this D.I.P. page was recomended, any information on how this works would be appreciated, Thank you.

The RaceMenu creator expired6978 does not allow any modifications to his mod. This is the reason why there are no skins for UI overhauls like NordicUI or Untarnished UI. This tool goes around those closed permissions by modifying the mod locally, following a configured DIP Patch mod containing instructions for the Patcher. A DIP Patch does not contain any of the original mod files but only some JSON files with instructions and custom shapes and icons.
