I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive and haven't abandoned this list. I was on a small hiatus for personal reasons, but I am now, as of June 2025, actively working on the 1.0 update for this list.
I'm currently remaking the entire mod list from scratch for the following benefits:
Increased stability and performance,
Custom patches for every single conflict that needs it,
A new "Expanded" profile and options for those who want more,
The same mod list, but with a more advanced look and feel as I update and replace old mods with better alternatives,
I have no idea how long this will take me, but I won't stop until I have the perfect mod list for Skyrim VR. And then I will finally be able to play it in peace

Why am I crashing when I start a new game? I've been doing my best to fix this crash, but most recently it seems that this only happens with using OpenComposite. You can't name characters with OC enabled anyways, so I recommend starting a new game without it, then loading your new character with it enabled. If that doesn't solve the new game crash then try reopening the game a few times. For some reason, it often works on the second try (maybe something to do with compiling shaders?). Can also try waiting a minute in the menu before hitting new game. If all else fails, try disabling DynDOLOD before starting a new game, make your character, then save the game. You should then re-enable DynDOLOD, restore plugin backup load order (yellow arrow above the list of plugins on the right), and then load your save to continue playing.
Why can't I name my character? Disable Open Composite during character creation.
Why is my body disappearing/appearing in front of me? This is VRIK selfie mode. You enable/disable it by raising your hand above your head. It's nice for seeing what you look like, but it should be disabled by default to not interfere with combat. If I accidentally left it on, just go to the VRIK MCM menu in-game and disable it.
How do I unsheathe weapons or punch? Vanilla Skyrim has the concept of unsheathing weapons even after they're equipped, and this includes unsheathing your fists for punching. With the default bindings, the sheathe button is set to the triggers. So once you have a weapon equipped in the menu, just press trigger to unsheathe it. If you want to punch, you need to unequip your weapons and then hit the unsheathe button to unsheathe your fists (nothing will happen visually). With your fists unsheathed, just hold your grip and swing your fists to punch.
To avoid menus and this weird unsheathing concept, I prefer to use spell wheel and VRIK to equip weapons. To use the spell wheel, just hold the grip and trigger in either hand to open it, then bring your hand to the weapon/spell/item you want to equip, and then let go. The spell wheel has multiple screens, and you can switch between them by swiping your hand left or right close to the center of the spell wheel. To unequip weapons, you can open the spell wheel and let go in the middle of it, or you can equip weapons to VRIK holsters on your body.
To do this, just bring your hand to one of the holsters (usually your waist or over your shoulders) then press grip. You can also pull out these weapons by bringing your hand to the holster, holding the grip, and moving your hand in a "pulling out" motion. Finding these holster points can be a bit difficult at first, but you can easily adjust them by holding grip for several seconds at the holster point until you feel a vibration. Then move your hand around to the holster point you want, and let go. You can also adjust what weapons are allowed at which holster points in the MCM menu for VRIK.

It looks like AW Fjotra Remastered and the brown hair mod got deleted, is there a way to disable that mod in Wabbajack to let the install continue? The download keeps failing because they got deleted and I can't find the mods online
Is there a version that wont take a year of dedication to install without nexus premium? No way in hell am I manually installing 2262 mods with slow downloads
Not sure if that's an issue on my end, but in my fresh installation, the VRIK Rift-Index-WMR Controller Bindings mod was a copy of the main VRIK mod instead of just the control map file. This lead it to overwriting the original VRIK mod as well as Arctals VRIK Tweaks, causing no apparent issues on first look, but for example I wasn't able to see the new Holster visualization debug helper that came with VRIK 0.8.4 because those options were missing in my MCM, which led me to this discovery in the first place.

Cannot find Book Covers Skyrim Updated on Nexus atm. Possibly removed so the list needs an update?
Does anyone have any tips to reduce VRAM usage? I have a RTX 4070 with 12gb VRAM. Specifically, are there any mods to disable? I would assume some texture mods would be the most effective to reduce VRAM usage. Thanks!
(Also, can I delete mods that I do not want to use in order to reclaim disk space?)

Could you share what settings you are using for Steam VR, Virtual Desktop and Skyrim in-game VR Performance. Thank you!
