Vanilla day-based spawn has been restored.
First random dragon encounter happens after 7 in-game days. Each successive encounter will happen within a span of 1 to 7 days. This means you will fight at least one dragon every 7 days. Killing Alduin extends it to 14 days.

Dynamic Random Dragons has been made with the only purpose to put pressure when exploring Skyrim region. Combined with a dragon overhaul like Dragon War it can spice up your game quite a lot.
β’ Randomized timing between each dragon world encounter
After completing Dragon Rising, dragons start to appear in the world β excluding lairs and mounds β after 7 in-game days. Each subsequent encounter can then take place in a variable span of 1 to 7 in-game days, which extends to 14 days if Alduin is killed. This behavior differs from vanilla, where dragons appear every 3 days.
