Any chance of making this a bit more dynamic based on Main Quest progression, e.g. by either changing the interval or adding an incremental spawn chance?
There are set points in the MQ at which more Dragon Mounds open (controlled by dunDragonMoundQST), but other than putting 3 or 4 static dragons in the world at those Dragon Mounds, these set points don't really do anything, so they would be logical places to ramp up the dragon threat. For example:
After Dragon Rising - every 4 to 7 days and/or 25-50% chance
After Diplomatic Immunity - every 1 to 7 days and/or 50% chance
After Alduin's Wall - every 1 to 7 days and/or 75-100% chance
After Elder Knowledge - every 1 to 4 days and/or 100% chance
HI Delta! I use all your dragon mods, mostly I am a big fan but I think I am having an issue with this one. I defeated solkonhir (sp?), using this mod and diplomatic dragons. I immediately got a random dragon attack, like 100 feet away from where I fought solkonhir. No problem. Issue is, there has never been another dragon attack since. I have waited in game months and still no other attack, including just waiting outside for 7+ days.
in an effort to troubleshoot, I opened up the console and saw "dragonsenabled" was set to 0, I tried setting that back to 1 and waiting again with no luck. I also saw that WIwaitdragon and winextdragon were set to different numbers than your mod would suggest in xedit (mine were 6.5 and 91, respectively). I set these back to 0 and 7, still no dragons. Nothing in xedit modifies these values that I can see. mq106turnoffrandomdragons is also set to 0, which I assume is correct.
note dragons do exist in their spawn locations, just the random ones are not happening. Help?
Hey Delta, sorry if this is a silly question (because it sounds like this mod may need to start at the end of Dragon Rising), but would this pair with your Diplomatic Dragons or should the two not be used together?
I love the idea of this mod, but I'm getting daily encounters. Not sure what mod conflicts I'd have or something that would override this as I don't have any other dragon mods right now.
Edit: I have opened my modlist in SSEdit (I really barely know what I'm doing here) and the only thing that has any overlap with this mod is Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul. That is lower in the mod order per LOOT.
Edit 2: Still getting dragon encounters almost daily even with DRD after ICAI.
I'm having similar issues, with dragons continuing to attack every 3 days. I have about 10 mods installed total, none involving dragons. The ones I do have affect visuals like JK's Skyrim and Real Clouds, new player houses, and follower behavior like Relationship Dialogue Overhaul. I've been playing around with load order to see if that helps, but haven't stumbled across a working combination yet.
Something I just noticed through the console: is the DRD_DragonAttackChance value supposed to just keep increasing. It was at 60, then a dragon attacked, and the next day it was 61.
I like this a lot. When you first read the description, it seems like it would be way too slow, but if you do long-form play-throughs like I do it adds up. And, even if it's only at say 10 percent, that's 10 percent each time you change exterior cells outside, which can be a lot.
It's not as "Dynamic" as yours but yes, you can set the % chance and # of days. I guess being able to set the percentage also provides some more randomness so I personally would say it's redundant with KS Dragon Overhaul 2. But it's a good alternative if you'd rather use a different mod for behavior and difficulty like Deadly Dragons, Dragon Overhaul, Dragon War, etc.

I'm gonna make the description a bit more clear too
