I just can't get parallax to work with Northern Roads. I end up with standard flat textures but really transparent, so I see the terrain underneath (which IS parallaxed). I'm playing in VR, so I have no ENB in use as I want to use Community Shaders for terrain parallax everywhere. Everything else parallaxes fine and looks great, except Northern Roads. Anyone else been this route before? I'm using Majestic Landscapes, in case that matters.
There was ground warping in the Shor's Stone area, everything else was fine, and I had set it up EnableTerrainParallax=false EnableComplexParallax=true EnableComplexParallaxShadows=true EnableTerrainBlending=true EnableComplexTerrainParallax=true EnableComplexTerrainParallaxShadows=true
This mod straight up does not work. I literally did a fresh install of skyrim, downgraded to 1.5.97, ran bare bones just to get this to work and this is the terrain EVERYWHERE. All other parallax mods work fine. Something is wrong with this mod.
Nothing is wrong with my mod. Clear enb cache, fix your load order. Spiky parallax is always on the users end. There is something wrong with your setup.
This is because your textures have no parallax. Medium and High quality versions have parallax enabled by default, so either you have to install proper textures with parallax support, either open enbseries.ini with notepad or similar and set to false all the effects with parallax (WORKS TO ME), or switch to the Low quality preset.
Deleting. Not worth offending anyone. But to those who also have issues - just switch to another road parallax mod. Much simpler than trying to figure out whatever bs is going on here. Looks good in screenshots tho! cheers
Again, it's not my mod that is causing issues for you. You are going to get the same issue when you run other parallax road mods. No need for the passive aggressive responses. I am just saying there is nothing I can do on my end to fix this since there is nothing to fix. It's likely a load order issue or enb settings
f*#@, i read only half the thread, before trying to fix it myself since no good answer halfway in the thread, and after like 20 min i found how to resolve. then when i wanted to post the solution i see that it was already posted xD (i really need to read all next times ) but at least i can say i did it mylself :D
Hmm sorry to say but the people are right, your mod does not cover ALL the roads in the Northern Roads mod see attached below every red dot you see, your mod does not cover. Your mod only covers 10 out of the about 20 you are missing 10 if you don't count the volcanic tundra, then it would be 13 in all.
I like your mod but part of the main roads, example leaving Whiterun if you go towards the Western Watchtower all that road looks like the main picture posted in this thread. So don't take it hard, it happens, but hey now you have the proof, take this as constructive criticism.
People is not every road, so stop it! Who ever has all the roads looking bad then it's a problem in your system and your end, not this mod. What this mod covers DOES work, the problem is, it does not cover/replace all of it.
So, I have this really stupid issue with Vortex. Vortex tells me that this mod apparently is incompatible with northern roads, which is absolute bs. I know that this is probably the wrong place to tell about this because I'm pretty sure it's Vortex problem but it's not letting me deploy the mods. I never had this issue with Vortex before and it't not letting me use both mods... So has anyone else had this problem with Vortex and knows how to fix that?
Hi, this may be a very niche issue, but I'm having some huge FPS drops to about 5-10 frames near Whiterun around the horse carriage. I know its not my computer because everywhere else I get 60-80 fps and I have a 4090. I'm not sure what the issue might be but it only happens around Whiterun near the roads and at the entrance. It sometimes fixes itself if I turn ENB off and on again, which then I get around 60 fps looking at the same image. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm having a slight problem with the roads in the Reach. They all seem to just be kind of shiny. They appear to lack proper parallax meshes when every other road does.
Looking at the comments I think people don't understand how complex terrain works or how to install parallax related mods that use the latest Parallax tech.
Compatibility is really important. I bet half of you have Parallax Shadows mod and Complex Terrain mod installed while also having your ENB with Parallax on. This wouldn't affect non complex material supported mods but suddenly both mod authors and mod users are both confused as to how to properly market their mods, troubleshoot issues and communicate to users, as well as the users blaming it on complex material supported mod; authors.
First of all, decide whether you want to use ENB or not. If you are using ENB, unless it is old and outdated then it will probably support current Parallax complex tech. Just update your binaries. Then, turn off all of those Parallax mods that claim they do this and that. Because they sound cool and complex but they don't do anything for you if they aren't being applied with forethought and specific uses. Not to mention they will ruin your s***.
Second. If you aren't using ENB, then it is safe to download Community Shaders, The Auto Parallax mod, the Terrain Parallax ENB Blending mod, and the Complex Parallax Materials mod. Remember that the Auto Parallax mod is mostly just an ini, look in the multiple folders as there actually is no FOMOD so don't just blindly install it. It won't harm your setup either way but it's probably just dead weight if it isn't correctly turned on. Look at the read me.
Now finally, you need properly supported parallax mod textures for your underside terrain. Look up Parallax Terrain or just look through the latest Terrain mods. I don't know how Northern roads works or this mod but I assume it is it's own terrain so it might not matter. You can also get updated Parallax dirt and nifs as their own mods ala carte.
For the terrain and mountain mods that say add this for parallax make sure if it's talking about Parallax, Parallax for Non ENB aka Complex Materials Mod, or Complex Parallax which is what is innately functioning within your enb.
The naming and descriptions of these Parallax mods is confusing as hell I blame them.

This is obviously user probelm. Go fix it yourself and dont blame anyone.
On the side note for the aurthor, perhaps an upadte to support other northern roads textures?
I really like your work.
