This causes me to Crash To Desktop every time I approached Whiterun for the first time, from a save game roughly half-way between Riverwood and Whiterun.
Testing was undertaken using the console from the menu to spawn in at Riverwood and running straight to Pelagia Farm. Started a new game with no other mods other than CBBE and the Unofficial Patch, and consistently no CTD with those on their own. Consistent CTD when Better Followers was installed (Protected Beauty and Armour Pack 2), just as the Companions and giant spawn in.
Confirmed by spawning in Riverwood with CBBE and Unofficial Patch, running to straight to Pelagia Farm and helping to kill the giant, then saving straight after the forced conversation with Aela. I loaded this save a couple of times, both with and without BF installed (Protected Beauty and Armour Pack 2). Every time BF was active, I got a CTD just as the save completed loading. Without BF, it loaded fine.
Workaround is installing BF just as "Protected" (no Specialised, no Beauty); I consistently get no CTD from the test save, and I was also able to resume the original save where I first encountered this CTD, once I had changed the BF install. Hopefully, for those getting a CTD, this workaround will get you back gaming...
The same thing happened to me when I approached Pelagia Farm from either the east by Honningbrew Meadery or the west by the watch tower, I got a crash when I got in view of the Giant fight. I also tried sneaking around it to the north without looking at the fight and I got a CTD as well.
I reinstalled with the "Protected" only version of the mod and it started working again. Thanks for the tip! Any update on a fix for this? I really would love to play with all of the features of this mod.
As I tried everything community can propose there's no real deal to avoid this CTD, until maybe someone with modding skills and permission could redig this problem from the core itself. And the core lies not that far, I am shure 99% that somehow it's confronting Companions vs Giant script or just visual of comapnions and bam, CTD.
I have 2 problems if I try a beautified with CBBE faction pack (or at least the thieves part of it):
1: Attempting to wear torturers hood found in helgen (in the anniversary edition anyway) causes immediate CTD 2: approaching the companions dealing with the giant near the meadery at Whiterun causes ditto
Not installing the faction pack appears to work fine.
Using Cathedral assets optimizer to pack everything into a BSAs appears to work though I'm worried that might break something else later on.
Also,, not entirely sure how the bsa extractor is meant to help
Hi, will there be a version that changes only the parameters of the followers and, in accordance with their parameters, the changed standard equipment?
I downloaded this mod for the Illia fix and marriage, but it doesn't work sadly :< I can confirm that wearing the amulet of mara and then talking to her doesn't bring up the 'Are you interested' dialogue of interested partners.
Is this considered fairly light weight and will it work with combat overhaul or ai overhaul mods like wildcat, ultimate combat and AI overhaul SSE?
I've looked into other follower improvement mods and they just seem to have way to many features and get convoluted and buggy... I just want something that improves the basic foundations of followers, such as improved sneaking or behavior overall.
Does anyone know of a Follower mod that simply lets you call Waiting Followers from a distance? Like how you can call horses with a whistle in Convenient horses?
I downloaded the main file, which includes the Beauty Pack. All of the females have a black head. Some females even have a black body, and a giant red diamond with a white ! symbol. Only a few males do, but all of the females do this.
I deleted the mod. Once in game, everything was back to normal. More to the point, everyONE was normal.
I tried to reinstall the mod without the Beauty Pack. Even with the first option, the one without Beauty, the installer said it still made appearance changes. Once in game, the red diamond with the white ! was gone. However, the females still had black heads.
I deleted the mod again, to verify the results. Once in game, everyone was back to normal again.
No matter which option you choose, the installer says it makes changes to appearance, and every single option causes that black head error. So, is there ANY way to install this mod WITHOUT changing appearances?
If you are looking for mod conflicts, there aren't any mods to conflict with. I can install and uninstall, and Vortex does not find any conflicts of any kind, or ask me to overwrite anything. I am not using any skeleton mods. I am not using any body mods. I am not using any hair mods. I am not using any face mods. I am not using any appearance mods of any kind. This is the only mod which changes appearances, so this is the only culprit.
sadly its making my game crash near or inside whiterun, i eliminated all my mods 1 by 1 on a clean save and went to whiterun and saved, then added all my mods 1 by 1 the only time it crashed was when better followers was ticked, i installed an unprotected beauty version and i have the armor pack 2 dont know if i installed it wrong somehow or if it is my load order but something about this mod is causing crashes near whiterun wich is a shame because i would really like to use it
