I believe this caused weird stuff to the borderless screen, at least the one integrated into SSE Display Tweaks. The thing is that I've set "DisableWindowsKey =" to false and now the borderless window works as intended... I don't know, probably is related to my setup, though I wanted to mention this particular matter.
I don't know what updates that mod received, but I've post some of the differences a few days after I released Media Keys Fix (maybe you can find at page 6 or near). One change I can say other mods don't have is the fix for international keyboards. I also remember that at the release of this mod, that Keyboard Shortcuts Fix used pattern matching to patch the game at runtime, which in theory is more prone to break when Bethesda updates the game, I use offset from address library here, and I can say I will support Skyrim 1.5 and 1.6. I can't talk much about other mods I don't use.
This mod doesn't change anything specifically related to alt+tab behavior, but it fixes the tab menu opening when you return using alt+tab (a consequence of the change to CooperativeLevel). Tested with an almost-vanilla installation of skyrim. If your game is still opening the menu, I think could be a conflict, or other mod causing it. A good way to find conflicts is rename the mods dlls to make one load before another, SKSE loads the plugins in alphabetical order.
Check Better AltTab if you like to use alt+tab frequently.
"I've been using this mod for a while, and even after turning it off, the volume control function still works. Is something left overwriting the system? I haven't installed any other mods that would enable functions like the Windows key or volume control. Does this mean that the original settings have been completely overwritten, even when the mod is off? I'm new to modding, so I'm not sure what the cause is. Also, when I press the CAPS key along with the WASD movement keys, text input appears in the top-left corner, and the game freezes. Do you know how to fix these issues?"
This mod only installs a DLL and a config file, your savegame is not used, the game is only modified at runtime, no files are modified. Nothing is left behind when you uninstall it. Take a look at other mods, like Kreate.
I dont know if this would be similar, but would it be possible to allow the f13-f24 keys to be recognized by skyrim? Would love the extra keybindings for MCM.

Keyboard Shortcuts Fix also makes my character menu not constantly open whenever I alt-tab, which Media Keys Fix SKSE doesn't seem to address.
