Does anyone know how to map sprint to left stick click? I can never get it to work. I've edited the controlmap.txt myself, I've downloaded a preset that is supposed to have that functionality, I just can't get it to work. I can remap anything else but that and it is driving me crazy
If u cant get it work by lens control map so the problem is not in mods i guess. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/88509?tab=description&BH=1
Great fix, always bothered me. Works great in 3rd person mode.
Unfortunately it breaks diagonal movement in first person for me. It jerks a lot, fov changes rapidly zooming in/out a bit, and movement itself kinda bad.
I have multiple camera/controls mods installed (the usual tdm, smoothcam, improved camera, better jumping, classic sprinting and some minor things on top) I'll try to toggle things on/off on clean save and see if it's just this mod by itself or interaction with others.
All I know is now if I disable this mod FP diagonal movement works as usual.
Steps to reproduce: In FPP start sprinting forward. as you sprint, try switching analog stick 2 or 10 hrs and hold, continuing holding sprint. jerk a lot.
addons like Elden Sprint recommended for testing to get infinite stamina out of combat.
it's not really sprint yeah, but only jittery with this mod, holding sprint button with this mod + classic printing redone + diagonal movement that is. without it's maybe not a sprint but no jitter during fp diagonal movement without this mod.
I use Dual Sense 5, no extra gamepad apps. Just connected via bluetooth and handled by steaminput I believe, no extra settings or layouts configured in there.
I'm still going to experiment and try to find other mods (and maybe their settings) that might interfere, but I already ruled out Improved Camera SE.
It works wonderfully in 3rd p though, thanks for that. I only switch to fpp to look for at textures if adding something or hunt for seams.
Nothing you can really do right now yeah, but I'll try to find edge case trigger I'm seeing.
Can I bother you with a request? Maybe you'll find it as promising as me :)
so IMO what a gamepad setup is in dire need of, is the de-coupling of that unsheathing function that you get when you press one of the attack/left or right hand buttons. You're forced to have a "Ready Weapon" button anyways so you might as well make it the only consequent way to sheath and unsheath your equipment. The whole reason is, you're suddenly freeing up your left and right hand/attack and block buttons and can direct non-combat key bindings to it!
does that make sense to you?
I've tried to do this myself but I already failed setting up visual studio correctly and regardless of that I am have never in my life written one line of code in C++ :P
It's a pretty good idea but as this is my first skse plugin it is definitely outside my capabilities but I agree gamepad users need some loving so it's not surprising that a mod like that doesn't exist
I was too! I thought at some point someone had to think of this right? Especially if you're using the MCO-kind of light and heavy attack-combat system it get's even tighter haha.
I've conceptualized my own Keybinding system earlier this week and when you remove that draw weapon function from those attack buttons you'd have FOUR actual free buttons to spare suddenly
yeah absolutely, that would need further logic to suppress other key bindings with something like inCombat or when weapons are drawn or some sort of check on the other end by other mods like easywheelmenu or whatever it is, that a player wants to use there. but nevertheless the whole premise would be helpful to clear up buttons either way :)
That particular control scheme above is working right now anyways, so I can upload it if you like it :)
nah that's alright, i also spent my time making a custom control scheme but I went with a dark souls inspired scheme, with the attacks on the shoulder buttons
@xenaroadwarrior You're probably overcomplicating this yourself actually haha. The Hotkeys represent Skyrim's own Vanilla Hotkeys Setup - I think it would have been the keys 1-9 on your keybboard by default. So this is just re-defining those hotkeys as a practical combination on your gamepad :) So some mods, especially Serio's Hotkey Cycler Is making use of those buttons and then let's you setup up your own system.
Example would be my own setup: - (Hotkey 1) D-Pad Left: Defensive spells on left hand - (Hotkey 2) D-Pad Right: Offensive spells on right hand - (Hotkey 3) A + D-Pad Left: Left Hand/Defensive Equipment (Shield, daggers, staves) - (Hotkey 4) A + D-Pad Right: Right Hand/Offensive Equipment - (Hotkey 5) A + D-Pad Down: 2-Handed Weapons (Or Left+Right Hand spell combinations)
Thank you for this great mod! Unfortunately, it makes horses tilt strangely to the left or right while sprinting, similar to having an analog drift. Even worse with this mod Horses Simply Turn
I personally don't have that issue, what I can tell is that Horses Simply Turn makes them too sensitive. Best I can do is add an option to disable this while the player is on horseback
WOW, so you're telling me that it took until 2023 for someone to notice this? xD Thank you, it's been bothering me for years. And kudos for the Fur Shader mods, they are a must have, in fact all your mods are.

does using 2 buttons like that actually work in the MCM (when given the option to select your own hotkey/s if you prefer)?
Or is it waaaay more complicated than that? lol

did it take long?

Most mods out there automatically assume everyone uses M & K!
