About this mod

Overhauls all 14 divine blessings, adding variety, debuffs, and random chance

Changelogs
This mod aims to add variety and humour to blessings, while keeping it lore-friendly and simple.

1. Shrine interaction:

Now instead of one predictable and guaranteed blessing, you get one of 20 possible effects. One of which is the blessing of the deity shrine belongs to, and the 19 additional effects are more generic in nature and shared between the shrines. This means your chances to get, let's say, Mara's Blessing, when activating her shrine, are at 5%.

There is no karmic system here, the chance is entirely random. Do the divines care if you robbed a monk and killed a child? Not particularly. There is no karma in the game's core, and bounties or stats are not an adequate substitute. In this mod's view, the gods have better things to do than check if you stole any sweetrolls: you are not that important, and they aren't cops. (And hey, this is vanilla behaviour.)

Additionally, when you are currently under an effect from any of the blessings, activating any shrine will fail. Meaning, you'll have to wait it out. The duration of all blessings is vanilla (=unchanged). This is to prevent rerolls (the "curses" are not so severe, don't worry).

2. Changes to the standard blessings:

Each blessing has one positive and one negative effect. All shrines do not cure any diseases anymore.

The effects used have something to do either with the lore surrounding the deity or their worshippers' typical views and behaviour. The blessings are kept close to vanilla in values, and both buffs and defuffs are minor, it should not affect gameplay all that much. If you want to know the specific buffs and debuffs, open spoilers (or check images section).

4. The additional blessings:

They have the same duration as proper blessings, but only one buff/debuff. Some of them are positive effects, some are negative.

5. Compatibility:

Clearly not compatible by default with other religion/blessings overhauls. However, if you want to make a patch, be my guest.

Be sure to place AFTER Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul, it edits blessings' effects too.

Now compatible with a patchWintersun - Faiths of Skyrim.

Not compatible with shrines don't cure diseases kind of mods. This functionality is already included here.

Compatible by default with any mods changing the amulets themselves. Such as Immersive Sounds Compendium. Any mods making amulets disenchantable are compatible also.

Sort of compatible with More to Say. The priests will always succeed at giving you a proper blessing.
