EDIT: As of version 1.2, the facegen are properly included so the darkface bug shouldn't occur, I've also fixed the quest to actually start. Sorry it took a year!
Hello all! I'm only now noticing I didn't pack any of the target NPCs' facegen data into the mod. I'd greatly appreciate if you could tell me whether or not you're experiencing the dark face bug!
So I picked up the note and items from Riften and I've been to every inn in all the major cities, yet there are no contract notes, am I doing something wrong? I'm wearing the suit and using the weapons.
Have you checked the floor? They tend to fall from the counters where I've placed them. Picking up the first note is the trigger, so wearing the suit and using the weapons is not necessary.
I shall look again, and thanks for telling me the suit isn't needed, as stylish as it is I'll be sticking to my own stealth gear for now, although maybe you should include a version that has no enchantments so you can add your own effects to it.
Just letting you know, the issue was that the step that creates the notes was skipped upon starting the quest. It should be fixed, now! I'm also keeping your idea of an unenchanted version of the suit for 1.2
Welp... it turns out it wasn't the real problem and it turns out I just forgot to include the script. Updated again, with some fixes to the targets as well. Normally, this time, it should be good!
I really like this concept and look forward to playing it, but after finding the first note in Riften I could not find a single note anywhere else. I've been to all the inns, checking high and low. Even on the floor as you mentioned to another comment, but I just can't find them. Is there something I may be doing wrong? Or could you possibly disclose the locations of the notes so I can search there again? Thank you
You need to read the first note in Riften to trigger the other ones to appear. Once that's done, you can check if the mod works properly by going to the counter, near Keerava. If that note is neither on the counter nor on the floor, it's possible something went wrong.
Well it turns out it was a stupid mistake on my part. The notes are created on step 5 but initiating the quest by reading the note immediately skips to step 10. [EDIT: After further testing, it wasn't the problem, I just forgot to include the actual script.] Should be fixed now, sorry for the year-long wait!
LOVE this IDEA!!!! Please continue to develop there are soo many ways to incorporate this into the game. Including sneaking into a massive fort with guards while using a disguise system (there used to be Master of Disguse mod for that but not sure what happened), poisoning food of a rich aristocrat (may need a scripted sequence), being hunted by another assasin while trying to keep a target alive, and many many more ideas. I write mods if you would like to include others in your project please reach out to me.
Thanks for the offer! I will keep it in mind if I find the time to work on this mod again, but I've recently started working on making my own game, which is eating up all of my free time and taking my focus away from modding
Nice! But can you add more quests and make them radiant for unlimited fun? I like the Hitman outfit, but It'll be cool if it wasn't a hard requirement for triggering the quests. Anyways, endorsed!
I don't have enough knowledge of the radiant system to make any promises, but I'd like to add more targets in the future and expand upon the current story, so there's always a possibility
The outfit is completely optional, though, the trigger is the note. You can even technically complete the quest without ever reading anything!
Yes more targets would be awesome maybe make some with body guards and a mansion like in hitman. It would also be cool to have some unique environment kills like the Dark brotherhood in Oblivion and hitman, like boulders rolling over the target just an example because I know skyrim has that kill in it and idk whats possible in this game.
My suggestion would be adding some nobles, imperial and stormcloak soldiers, forsworn and vampire targets. Maybe even mentioning in the note that they did horrible things and they need to be punished? Maybe they kidnapped and tortured or raped innocent people and they deserve the blade!
