Hey guys! I would really like it if you could post some screenshots of Alduin following the update. I think I have one more update planned which I will touch up the mouth texture.
its a retexture... so it works with everything. Just install the retexture and don't install any other changes. No reason to take my buffs and that mods buffs at the same time so just take that mods.
beautiful mod. I've been thinking, since alduin is firstborn of akatosh, to give him a more regal color pallette, just for fun. as in, a simple hue/color swap the black to white. how feasible is this idea, and which file is the best to throw into photoshop?
You would need to alter the "Alduin.dds" texture likely just white washing the texture or color bending it to white and then going back to my original texture you would need to isolate the flames I had painted and paste them back over into the white texture since they would be affected by the original white color bending or washing. I dont know what specifically to do in Photoshop because I cant afford it so I use a series of free or one time purchase tools such as gimp and substance painter along with other tools to do different jobs.
This is a texture mod so it doesnt need a patch just overwrite any mesh and texture of any other mod
- if you are talking about my optional file however - Just choose which mods effects you like most and then use mine over his or his over mine. He already buffs dragon damage, health, and attack same as me it looks like and includes new shouts which is what I do so just choosing one of our mods to win is likely the better option but to your point ill ask him if he is willing to make a patch.
IMHO. Best Alduin's replacer, I've never replaced this mod since playing SSE. Thanks for the update, I guess I could be gawking around his nails now while trampled over.
thanks! It was a lot of hand painting and i got very lucky to use a texture tile base from IWantaTardis haha - but yea I said this to the guy below you too - basically you can reach the same level of detail in 16k or 8k in 4k if you make the texture right etc. :)
And here we can see, a handmade crafted texture from an talented artist, can look better than any upscaled 16K texture, bigger is not better ;). Congrats for this masterpiece !
thanks! Yea to your point if you do it right it doesnt have to be huge to be extremely detailed what matters is the size of the scales honestly. If the base line texture is detailed enough you can get the same quality effects of having it be 8k while only still being 4k. I really appreciate the positivity though! Id give you a kuddos but I apparently already have lol.
this has to be my favorite alduin retexture i've found. you did a very good job keeping the glow subtle, but it still makes a massive difference compared to vanilla.
kuddos for stopping by for no other reason other then to spread some positivity - Yea I really like the end result it took me weeks to hand paint the flame effect on him and get everything right but the end result was perfect i think. I love how it glows. Its subtle, lore friendly, and not immersion breaking.
That mod makes dragon incredibly overpowered *which is not a bad thing* but will make for one hell of a fight every time with any dragon. That said there is nothing to patch actually my mod doesnt overlap - So you will get my changes to Alduin's storm call meteor shower (I extend its duration but dont really touch damage just make it so its a constant hell visually lol) also you will get my tail stomp effect which will knock you down if you try to attack from behind and he gets you with his tail, and you get my visual changes via Ultra HD texture.
From his mod you will get all his shouts (He adds every dragon shout to him) his HP, his armor etc so as is I have nothing to patch but my delivery method allows for a hybrid of both mods. What you dont get from my mod is my damage bonus (his is stronger) My HP/Armor (His is significantly higher), and my attack ability where he casts fireballs at his side with a flap of the wing and summons dragons. His version however will be tough and likely can one hit kill you in some situations as a contrast mine wouldn't necessarily one hit kill you I make him stronger then every vanilla dragon to differentiate but not to a extreme.
Hi i love this mod and the Durnehviir one. they look awsome. Have you got any plans to do some of the other main dragons eg: Paarthurnax, and Odahviing? Edit. Sorry didn't see someone had already asked
Kuddos for looking into the comments section thats something no one does lol! Also thank you so much for your appreciation I really love that and it motivates me to keep modding :)
