About this mod

Adds a unique iron helmet reminiscent of the iron helmet seen in the concept art and trailers for Skyrim.

This is a small shard of immersion. This mod hand places a unique iron helmet in 3 locations around Skyrim, two interiors, one exterior. Two are accessible any time, one is only accessible during the main quest, therefore any kind of player should be able to acquire this helmet, regardless of whether or not you play through the main quest.

This mod contains meshes and textures from two other mods: Iron Helmet - Concept Edition and Cathedral - Armory. The meshes and textures come from Iron Helmet - Concept Edition, and the cubemaps and environment maps come from Cathedral - Armory. I simply took those meshes and textures, renamed them so that they won't overwrite anything vanilla or from any other mesh and texture mods. and applied them to a unique item and placed it out in the world, where it would make sense. It will not replace the vanilla iron helmet, or the textures from any other mod affecting the iron helmet.

The helmet itself is slightly later than a base iron helmet - owing to the fact that it is missing some material on the top because of the battle scarring. The helmet is also considered a unique relic since there are only 3 of them in the world, therefore they have higher values than an iron helmet, but not to the point of being excessive. Their value is comparable to the Miraak cultist robes. The helmet also has the same base defense as an Orcish helmet, giving the player a nice boost should they come across it early on.

That's really all there is to it, it's just incorporating some concept art on a smaller scale than a full on replacer, but still enough to be present and relevant in game.

The ESP is flagged as ESL, and was from the outset of the mods creation, for those curious.

Installation:
This mod is plug and play, install with your mod manager.

Compatibility:
This mod is very, very minor. It touches 3 vanilla locations in a very minor way - it adds one item. I've ensured that the helmet is out of the way enough to not conflict with any other mods that add things to these locations, but not so far out of the way as to be easily missed. It should be compatible with anything.

Recommendations:
This mod would pair very well with Signature Equipment. The helmet, being designed to look like the iconic helmet from the concept art and trailers, would be very cool to wear all the way through an entire playthrough in my opinion, especially playing as the Dragonborn, the hero of legend. Signature Equipment would allow this helmet to be viable through the entire playthrough, scaling stats with you as you progressed.

Credits and appreciation:
I am greatly appreciative for the whole Skyrim modding community. I have been playing the game modded since 2015, and this community has been nothing but good to me, through all the troubles and tribulations that come with Skyrim modding, this community has been incredible.

I'd like to thank Shenawy for the idea, the meshes, and the textures - and by extension CaBal120 and the aMidianBorn team for the textures which Shenawy based theirs off of. I'd also like to thank JonnyWang, DrJacopo, and the Cathedral team for their assets, as well as the broader idea of the Cathedral Concept, which without, this mod would not have been possible (I suck at modeling and art in general).

I'd also like to give special thanks to u/SDirickson on reddit. I was having some trouble figuring out how to make the helmets interactable, and this dude left a simple comment about ground meshes, which led me to learning a lot about modeling and Skyrim objects in general, so special thanks to this user for that.

Finally, I'd like to credit SunJeong Ch. on youtube for the ground mesh resources and tutorial, I would never have figured out how to do implement ground meshes if it weren't for this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2gI-_nFchA&ab_channel=SunJeongCh.)

Permissions:
As per the Cathedral Concept, do as you please with this mod, I encourage you to do as you please with it. Please see all original pages and their extensions for specific asset permissions.
