just use the other mod that also use SPID to protect non-essential npc. That one hand-picked every npc that supposed to be protect, this one just apply to all which is really bad because some npc suppose to die and shouldnt be protected
Can you tell me the name of that mod or link it please? There's quite a few out there so want to try get the best one. This mod sounds cool but I would prefer a hand-selected approach as you're describing
What about NPC's who are supposed to die if you don't intervene? Examples: Margaret in Markarth or Umana/Sulla in Alftland? Also, would this affect NPC's, such as random fights along the road such as Thalmore vs Stormcloaks?
Random fights - the NPC's typically will not be flagged "Unique" so will not get tagged.
The scripted NPC deaths like Margret, Arivanya in BotIRedux etc are a concern. There are a few other mods - like the Adoption without Murder where you don't actually kill Grelod, but taunt her into a heart attack (with Lemkil as a bonus) which might be an issue as well.
Another issue I can see is with followers - this theoretically would stop your followers killing unique NPCs (there are good sides to this as well - when some well meaning follower unleashes an atronach or several fireballs in Whiterun)
Hi there. I've seen a few of these types of mods and wonder when a mod like this would be needed. Is a mod like this paired with other mods that may cause high deathrates of npcs? Or is there some benefit for this? Haha, I suppose, if I'm asking these questions, then I probably don't need mod like this. Asking out of curiosity.
Back when dawnguard first released on LE a mod like this would have been so appreciated. Vampire attacks could pretty much instantly wipe out entire towns. It was incredibly annoying and I'm glad they disabled them when SE happened.
May have use cases for mods like Death Consumes All which has a high chance of wiping out a large number of townsfolk when the plague spreads (Common complaint with that mod is it makes a "normal" playthrough impossible due to this).

If necessary, I will consider adding the ability to temporarily unprotect.
