Hey! thanks a lot for the mod. Super lightweight, bug free, compatible mod. Absolutely loved it. Just have one small suggestion. So basically when the game actually loads we are in an exterior worldspace, and thats when mods actually start loading. It would be much better for the mods to load in an empty cell, to prevent bugs/ crashes etc.Please consider adding an intermediate completely empty cell between the character creation and helgen cave exit. Thank you so much for the mod! Much better than alternate start, doesnt require so many patches.
Honestly, if we actually get reports of crashes or problems from the exterior location, we may look into it, but so far that hasn't happened. Neither this mod, or Helgen Express before it, seems to have gotten any reports of actual problems from this, so I'm honestly starting to think this might just be a bunch of people being overly-cautious due to LAL having had an essential monopoly over this sphere for so long.
As far as your mods loading, they do so during the archetype selection, where you are in a separate interior location. The notifications don't always appear at the time, although they sometimes do, but, if you'll notice as soon as you load outside the cave, the mcm notifications will come much more quickly than just waiting in LAL's room. My assumption is that something about the dialogue box prevents the notifications from showing up, but the mods are loading in the background, which is why the notifications come so much more quickly after the loading screen. I have tested this with no mods, my standard 500-something load order, and a bonkers 1300-plugin load order I use for stress-testing.
As for MCM settings, I am unaware of any MCM that requires being inside an interior cell.
TL;DR, we can look into changing it if people report actual problems, but that hasn't happened yet, and going off experience with Helgen Express, it isn't going to happen, tbh.

so after some debugging and reading a previous post here. If the game freezes on a new start (no loading screen nothing) and the game just doesn't appear to do anything. Thats because of "Aetherius racial spells addon" this mod must be loaded after that. fixing that seemed to work for me. Mind you that is NOT how LOOT seems to want to load it by default for some reason. idk but fixing that in the load order seemed to work for me
Thank you very much for mentioning this. I was disappointed that it seemed to not load and wasnt willing to go through my otherwise well working mod list to see if something was up and was about to abandon this one despite how promising it seemed. This worked for me. With this mod so new LOOT probably doesn't know that it should load the other below it.
I've just moved the mod to the Alternate Start group in the masterlist, so it'll now load after by default. Just make sure to update your masterlist (sorting does this by default).
So the main thing I'm missing with the recent removal of customize is a bare bones start, as that's how I usually like to start a lot of characters. I would love a "deprived" like option with borderline zero items. Prison Rags, basic crap weapon (or alternatively no weapon), no spells, no potions, couple food items. Anyway, just a thought as thats how I like to RP some characters.

Seriously though, Paradigm doesn't touch the camera. There haven't been any changes to the plugin in almost a year, and you're the first person out of 50k or so downloads to mention this issue. Pretty sure it's on your end somewhere.
A great and simple mod, may I ask if you could add an option to do a vanilla start? So that this mod can still remain enable in our mod list even when we plan to do a vanilla playthrogh! A simple box selection with "Vanilla Start" and "Custom Start" would be enough :)
I'm getting vanilla starting spells - flames and healing on every class. Even when loaded on very bottom. I don't think that should be happening based on other comments. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Did you install the correct version in the fomod? the first version give you vanilla starting spells and the extended version gives you modded spells. If you do have the correct version then I don't know how to fix it, sorry.
I played this mod in Ro. I selected DragojnKnight.
The only issue I found was the two starting weapons (two iron swords) which I was dualwielding would occasionally disappear from inventory or in favorites menu (even though they were equipped on hud).
They would occassionally show up in the inventory at load save or game restart to re disappear again after a while. You could also unequip the weapons (e.g. equipping magic on both hands) and they were gone you could not requip them as they did not show in inventory. With the weapon gone (not equipped and not in inventory) you could empty all your possession and your carry weigth would be 0 (so they were not hidden just gone) but they would come back with time.
At last I equipped two different weapons and when they showed up in inventory again I dropped them for god and never had any issue again.
Why I am reporting this here, well it all happened at the early game first few hours so it might be related to this new start mod or maybe not.
Seems that armor doesn't get equipped when you pick an archetype - Picked Sorcerer and was naked until I went in my inventory and saw my armor was not equipped.
Good mod though, definitely would say it's an upgrade from your last one! Closest to what I want from a "quick start" mod.
Just updated! Sorry about the bugs, this was my first time scripting in Papyrus and using the CK so definitely missed a few things--it should work as intended now with v1.1. Thanks for trying it out! :D

Is it just the Sorcerer start that does this for you, or have you had this issue with other classes as well? Do you have any kind of inventory/equipment management mod that might be interfering with Paradigm?
Only thing I can think of is something is conflicting with Paradigm in your LO, just tried to replicate the issue on my end but the armor is showing up fine for me. You're in the SimonRim server right? @ me there and we can look into it more if you want! :)
