30 May 2025 Hello, long time no see. Things are going well with me. I've settled into the job, and I have a lot less free time than I anticipated. I'm still living out in St. Louis, but I've been spending a lot more time working, raising my kid, going out with friends and dating. I don't have much time to work on Gore, but I'm putting together a timeline soon for when to expect updates. It looks like Glenmoril will be done soon, and I'm honestly more excited about making an addon for that and finally Unslaad, maybe even Dac0da if I get time to play it than I am excited for closing out Gore's story. I'm still looking for a voice actor for Jo-Lee! In the four months I have been looking, no one has applied for it, so please let me know if you're interested. I will obviously pay you for your work. There's a lot more coming for Gore, I just don't know when. My personal life takes priority, obviously, but I do want to get back to working on Gore soon. For now, just know I'm living well. I hope you are too! There's plenty of content to keep you busy in the meantime, and feel free to hop in the discord to interact with the community and I. I'm not super active in there, but there's plenty of folks to talk to. Please also know that I see your kind comments. I don't respond to all of them, but they mean the world to me, as I poured a lot of myself into this mod when making it. Gore and the community surrounding him mean the world to me, even if my priorities are elsewhere right now.
1.7.5 Due to numerous requests, Gore no longer leaves you when you join the Dark Brotherhood UNLESS you speak to him after joining while in the sanctuary and having not completed Muiri's quest. I still recommend not bringing him along for this quest unless you chose to kill June in Gore's personal questline. Just leave him at home. I am tired of people complaining about this, although I think a lot of it is warranted. For the record, Gore is supposed to leave your party when you join the Dark Brotherhood either without completing his personal quests or after making good decisions during them. If you kill June during Pate's quest, he has his own personal journey within this content. Otherwise, don't bring him. Don't have time to test this right now. A more permanent fix is the first thing to do on my list, making it so that if he is dismissed throughout the questline he will not leave, and addingn an arc for destroying the Dark Brotherhood. This is a temporary fix!
A pinned comment to acknowledge issues with the mod, how to fix them.
1) There is an ongoing issue I am aware of where if you complete the companions before recruiting Gore, you will get stuck in a conversation with him about Ysgramor's tomb. I highly recommend picking up Gore early if you plan on using him. If this happens, open your console and type "Set HD1TombYsVar to 0" and hit enter. Fixed in Version 1.7.4
2) Gore won't stand up after the date. Simply summon him.
3) Gore kills me when we hug. Use USSEP, it fixes this animation being a killmove.
First love the mod. Great writing and voice acting.
Would anyone be able to share a screenshot of where the shrine is to marry Gore? The alias isn’t working and I’ve exhausted my options of fixing it (I.e reloads and cell changes.)
It should be a misc. quest objective that should point you to just outside Helgen, but here's a screenshot of where it is; hope this helps! https://imgur.com/a/sQiHsEx
Following up here if anyone has the same issue. It seems Helgen needs to be destroyed for the shrine to actually spawn. So if it isn't there make sure Helgen has been destroyed. Thanks you Queenizunia, for the image!
Im at the part where Gore kills Pate. After I talk to him and get "That was intense". It says watch scene. The kids spawn in dead and June just walks back and forth. Nothing happens. How do I progress scene? Thanks
playing with a killable children mod are we? dont bother answering.
1. Find the refIDs for the dead children (I played through the scene and clicked on them with the console open, took a picture of the info that came up for each one, then reloaded an earlier save) 2. Play through the scene until Gore kills Pate, but don't talk to Gore 3. Open the console and type: prid ____, then resurrect for each child (for me this was "prid 345E6760" -> hit enter -> "resurrect" -> hit enter -> "prid 345E676F" -> hit enter -> "resurrect") 4. Talk to Gore ("That was intense")
Hey there. Friendly reminder that if you martyr at the end of Act 3 in Vigilant, your dragonborn, the one that Gore knows, canonically DIES. FOREVER. I'm not sure why people do this and expect Gore to hang around with a complete stranger afterward, but he won't. He's in Dragonbridge by the sawmill afterward if you go this route, but he won't follow you or work for you any more after this choice. 99% of the issues people report with Vigilant stem from people martyring. Don't do this unless you're okay with losing Gore forever. Yes, I hard coded in an actual consequence for doing this. No, I will not undo that.
Thank you for still making time to work on Gore! Even when your life priorities take precedence, rightly so of course. I'm looking forward to seeing what you manage to make for Glen-moril and unslaad, I'd love to finish out our story with Gore. thank you again!
Thank you for making Gore. I'm sorry your experience has been subpar in return for the amazing one you've given us. I'm truly sorry. Thank you for enriching our lives.
Please excuse what is probably a really dumb question but the current romance path ends with ending up at the docks? And the scene mentioned will come in the next romancey update? Or did my system mess up and there was supposed to be a scene when it teleported me there lol
Sorry to hijack the question but I am at this point too and it says to 'talk to gore' with us at the dock but when I try to talk to him I don't get any dialogue options. Am I supposed to have a unique option or just ignore the quest marker?
Hey so possibly stupid question but I played through vigilant and once I have completed it and left Coldharbour but I still cant access gore's inventory at all is this a known issue by chance or am I just a lucky guy like that.
I just want to say how much I love this mod. Gore is one of my favorite companions that I've had, and I think that his story and journey are wonderful. I do, however, think that there are some moments where it feels like the only dialogue option the Dragonborn has is to be a jerk to him. It's not often, so it doesn't really take away my enjoyment of the mod, though. Anyway, Great job!
I'm having an issue with this mod - specifically, I never have an option to "talk to him at an inn" during his introductory quest (At the Drunken Huntsman or otherwise). This also means I can never formally recruit him or dismiss him.
What is the quest ID so that I can skip that - or, alternately, a different way to dismiss him entirely?
the only condition for that dialogue is... be in an inn. never heard of anyone having issues with this. dont use setstage with gore. stuff like scripts are attached to dialogue.
Well, then I suspect he's broken entirely for this playthrough, which is a shame - I'll probably disable him in console to avoid the risk of a full uninstall mid playthrough.
Just had the same issue on the Apostasy Modlist, i believe it may have something to do with Swiftly order squad perhaps, i did use it to make him wait.
For some reason after playing halfway through his quest line, Gore has returned to Peak's Shade Tower and is standing with his arms crossed by the log. I can talk to him, tell him to wait or follow me but he won't leave that spot with his arms crossed. I haven't added or changed any mods or done any of the Dark Brotherhood quests. Is there a way to reset him to get him to follow me again?
NVM after 4 tries of telling him to part ways then follow me it unglitched. Not sure what happened but is fixed now! <3
Amazing mod! Small question that I could not find the answer to anywhere, currently Gore is saying "oh he seems silly, whimsical. but know this, the fell star is a cruel one. tread lightly" about my current quest. Silly question, but what is that referring to? I've already completed the Azura's star quest, which was my first guess. Thank you!
Edit: I was going mad over the.. Sheogorath quest voiceline. Yeah, okay.
Gore became my favorite "custom follower" atm. I was a bit worried at first because he was talking too much (for my taste) but no no, it is not a problem, his voice and audio are perfect, well adjusted, it's soft and peaceful. I love his story and the fact that he's very lore-friendly. He's a very agreeable companion for the lone hero on a long playthrough. Nb. I can't wait to see the author Gordev did with Vigilant mod, because i love Vigilant since its release, especially act 3 and 4 (legend! best mod content i have seen on skyrim, much much respect to Vicn), and for the first time i understand the dragonborn won't be alone in this adventure; i am so curious how Gore is implemented in that, i am playing on a very high difficult set up i built, i need to wait to be very high level to play it so i can't give any thoughts about it now -Vigilant is usually one of the last adventure content mods i play in my playthroughs
ah yes, hehe I just saw goredev's new post about Vigilant, I also think it's necessary to write it in big letters ^^ if our friend Gore dies, it will make sense, depending of our choice. I would add for those who don't know Vigilant to save often, and not with just one save, because there is a lot of content and choices that lead to consequences. Vigilant can be 'weird' sometimes but it's so good!

When I bailed Gore out of jail, the guard let him go even though I didn't have the thousand septims he asked for. Is this intentional?
Please consider expanding slightly on "wait patiently" to make it clear that we're not just waiting for an in-game timer to pass.
in other words, the date happened. you are seeing afterward.
