About this mod

A simple ESP replacer for NotWL that reduces draw calls while keeping its flora and debris replacers mostly intact. Removes landscape edits and the need for related patches.

Description:

Nature of the Wild Lands makes a lot of landscape edits and additions that help to make the mod into a true ecological overhaul. These additions also cut heavily into Skyrim's draw calls budget and require patches, resulting in larger load orders and lower FPS. This mod is a compromise between the two. It keeps all of the mod's flora and debris replacers, but removes the new plants added throughout the landscape + height data edits.
Warning: may result in huge FPS gains in forests.

How is this different from NotWL - Forest Debris Only?
- This edit doesn't need any additional landscape patches.
- This edit keeps NotWL's vanilla tree replacers (if you aren't overwriting with another tree replacer).
- This edit keeps the unique vanilla tree replacers that are covered in NotWL (i.e. Gildergreen, Sleeping Tree, etc.).

How much FPS will I get back?
Using this edit doubled my fps compared to NotWL without this edit, but it does result in some areas looking a bit sparse, especially in the forest canopy (the treetops) when using the NotWL pine models only. I recommend you load another tree model replacer after NotWL + this edit.

I recommend that you load any ONE of these tree model replacers after NotWL + this edit:

Happy Little Trees - Best for FPS
Blubbos Pines v3 + Blubbos Snow Pines v4 - Best high poly replacer
Transverse the Ulvenwald - Best balance between FPS and overall look (my preference; see screenshots)
(All fully compatible)

Installation & Load order
1. Download & install Nature of the Wild Lands
2. Download & install this edit
3. Download & install other tree model replacers (recommended)
4. Load all plugins in this order as well
5. Check your plugins list for Nature of the Wild Lands patches and deactivate them
6. Regenerate DynDolod files (if you use it; recommended)

Potential Bugs?
I haven't run into any yet, but the original author made several cell edits that only slightly adjusted the positions of existing trees. So I'd expect to eventually find a few trees that are slightly too high or too low. If any are found, please report it in the Bugs tab along with a detailed description of where the misplaced tree is located (cell id preferred).

Optional Version?
The optional version of this edit retains the landscape height edits from the original NotWL mod and only removes the newly added flora/debris. This means that landscape patches are still necessary. However, use at your own risk! The optional version is untested, and CTDs are very likely when using this version alongside NotWL patches. But if you have landscape errors, this may fix landscape issues when using the optional file alongside settlement mods and their NotWL patches.

Disclaimer!
This mod was published without explicit permission from the original author. Should they take issue, this file will be promptly deleted.
In the meantime, this edit is intended for those who want to use NotWL's flora/debris but can't handle the fps lag caused by increased draw calls.
