Nothing fancy here, just requested minor updates/fixes for most popular maps by other authors.

Beyond Reach and ECSS: Shivering Isles maps are in work, hope to release both in February (with mandatory 'if" about shellings and electricity stuff).

I saw that this can work with any of CKW25's maps, as long as you delete the Skyrim.dds file included in the update. I'm using the colorful version, and I'm still having alignment issues. Any idea how I could fix that? It's not the biggest issue, but it throws me off looking at the maps at times. I'm coming from A Quality World Map mod and I'd like to use this new map, but markers aren't aligned correctly. Everything is pushed about an inch on-screen to the South-East.

I don't see any serious misalignments with this setup (colorful version of 3rd edition + this mod).

if you have all markers shifted, there is an issue on your side (wrong mod or plugin load orders, wrong versions picked in FOMOD, possibly SoS affecting markers - there is a mention on desc page how to deal with it).

The only thing I haven't downloaded was the original Flat Map Markers mod for SSE, as it was outdated and mentioned FWMF and this mod as a replacement for newer versions of Skyrim (I run on 1.6.640). I'm not blaming your mod at all, obviously this happened before I even downloaded this. I'm going to load up and see if some changes I did fixed it, just kind of redid some things in the fomod for FWMF, like removing a border.

Also, just to clarify (not that it would make much of a difference, I'm sure) but I have the version with the Jarl's faces on the map. I'm also running with Dear Diary. Is the version that has visuals similar to Dear Diary required instead of the one I chose?

Edit: I reinstalled this mod and kept the same Skyrim.dds file in textures, and it seemed to fix it. I'll test again and see if I can either 1) replace this mod's dds with the Jarl's faces one, or 2) delete this dds and see if I produce the same issue.

Edit 2: It's definitely the map texture with the jarl's face causing the issue. Damn, I really wanted to use that one. Thanks for helping out, at least! I'll just run off of the usual paper map without their faces on it. Just thought it was a cool thing to see when I opened up the map.

if some specific version of 3rd edition is misaligned that means its exact texture isn't centered/scaled properly or was drawn without accurate traced image. it would be easier to fix map texture itself than reworking mesh for that texture. anyway, there are at least 10 different mainland skyrim maps available.

Skuldafn map looks like this no matter what I do. I installed the newest version of FWMF, original Skuldafn map and replaced the mod's files directly with the updated ones. Then I teleported to SkuldafnCourtyard through the console to test if the map works and saw this. Did I do something wrong? Skyrim and Solstheim maps seem to work fine, FWMF files are loaded last in load order. And I didn't generate any LOD yed, I'm just assembling my Skyrim end testing things

install fwmf in your mod manager, then skuldafn map, then update to it normally, no need to replace anything directly. proper load orders are the same, for mods and plugins. fwmf->patches/fixes->skuldafn map->update to it. double checked on my setup, coc skuldafnCourtyard works fine, map shows up properly.

Nothing was helping so I decided to test other updated maps to determine if it's only this that is that doesn't work or other maps have similar problems. I teleported to XJKphalosPortWarehouse from Darkend and found myself in some dark room. I opened the map - and lo and behold - there was a proper paper map of Skuldafn! A surprise, for sure, but a welcome one. Then I found an exit from the building, checked the map again - map of Darkend was working correctly. And then I again teleported to SkuldafnCourtyard and Skuldafn map displayed properly. I don't know what was my problem, it's probably something to do with me trying to teleport and test things right from Alternate Start room. Thank you for instructions, though I have found other solution and my problem turned out to be not a problem of mods but a problem of my testing methods. And thank you for the mod and updates!

I don't suppose you could edit the "Sea of Ghost" to "Sea of Ghosts" while you're at it on this one for your version here, could you? I love love love the style, but that typo bugs me on a lot of their maps. It's the Immersive 3rd Edition.

(I edit copy as part of my job, and I can't really turn that filter off, lol.)

fixed 2 typos on this map (Unmarked version only), "Haafinger" and "Sea of Ghost", but there are more actually :) I'd poke CKW tbh, it would be much easier for him since he most likely has sources.

First, I do use and like your mod! But why did you fix your own mod here and not in the original page (mods/64493)?

I think you're making the process of installing a paper map unnecesarily confusing and user un-friendly:
    1. You don't include your own paper map with FWMF (mods/64493).  Ok.
    2. You require to download T8KSaSPMfFWMF (mods/64493). Ok.
    3. And finally you deliver the 'fixed and updated' map only here (to your own mod)? And if I want the fix but for the black background I have to copy a file manually from the previous mod? Honestly, it baffles my mind and find this process confusing (and I have 556 other mods installed and batch build meshes with bodyslide!), I don't even want to imagine a newbie triying to make your map to work.

Don't take my comment as malicious, it has no ulterior motive other than to help you correct what I see as an annoyance in a pretty awesome mod nonetheless.

None of 5 mods that got updates here is mine:

Immersive Paper Map (3rd Edition) by Ckw25
Traditional (8K) Skyrim and Solstheim Paper Maps for FWMF (AE and SSE) by GR33N40
Skuldafn Paper Map for FWMF by Roxy785
Paper Darkend Map for FWMF by LegacyCloud
Paper Coldharbour Map for VIGILANT (FWMF) karevkid

Most of those authors are not active now, so a small compendium of patches/updates IMO is the best way to update those mods without violating copyrights.

All my maps get updates on their original pages. All other modders maps, maps that belong to artists, or my regional maps will be released separately (with very few exceptions). It is the only way for me to avoid copyright and troubleshooting issues. FWMF FOMOD has enough maps to cover basic needs and installing regional/skyrim alternative maps is simple - they are just an esl-flagged plugins that do not occupy plugin slot or even just a mesh/texture without any plugin, and can be properly sorted by LOOT.

can we get versions that have no background?
    thanks for considering.
also, not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the markers are pretty far off on my end when compare to your screenshots.

there is plain black one in FWMF FOMOD, you can just copy it (back.dds file, 64kb, to /textures of any map mod you want to have black background).

concerning markers being not aligned - its on your side, most likely wrong load order. you also have map overexposed, that means patch for your weather overhaul not installed. provide your load orders for mods and plugins plus FWMF FOMOF versions and optiones picked, I will try to help.

Hi I found I had the main issue with Solstheim scale mismatch leading to misplaced markers.

The fault is not in this mod but appears to be in the Traditional (8K) Skyrim and Solstheim Paper Maps for FWMF (AE and SSE) mod itself.

My solution was to use the Skyrim and Solstheim Paper Maps by Geevee for FWMF map of Solstheim instead.

      Hope that helps

So it says CKW25's unmarked map, is it compatible with any other version, or only that file? Thanks!

for any version of CKW's map it will properly update mesh (make markers alignment better) and add background. other edits here are specific to unmarked version (border and better compression rate), so if you want to update other version and keep its main texture, you just need to delete skyrim.dds file from update.

thanks. isn't Glenmoril not yet finished?

concerning Unslaad, well, there are 3 worldspaces in it worth mapping (iirc) so it will take a while, but totally possible (after ECSS which is kinda 80% ready, and Beyond Reach which is ~30%).

Damn you're right, didn't even think about the different worldspaces in Unslaad. Was mainly just looking for the regular area with the castle and saferoom where the dragon lady hangs out, not the travel to the future bit. Glenmoril isn't finished yet but there is a huuge worldspace at the end of it with a ton of bosses a-la Vigilant.

Hi, thanks for your work. I used the previous version made by you and KarevKid on VIGILANT 1.6.2. I'm coming back to skyrim now, updated the VIGILANT mod to 1.7.1 and installed this paper map, but i am facing this problem where the map turns grayish and i can't set a custom marker (it simply don't show):
    https://i.imgur.com/Hhv03oY.png

I am tempted to say that the new update for VIGILANT broke the mod, but i would like to know if anyone here can confirm that or maybe tell me if there is a way i can fix it. Thank you for your attention.

I've checked out Vigilant 1.7.1 with FWMF 1.8+, karevkid's map and update for it, everything works fine. I also haven't found anything that could cause your issue in vicn's change log. You either have issues with load order (I may take a look if you provide those for mods and plugins) or with alphaproperty-flagged meshes in FWMF 1.8+ and updates (in worst case you can try to roll back to 1.7+, its fully supported).

I've found a strange solution. Installing this mod in a separate plugin gave me the above issue (even giving him priority in load order), but i tried to merge this updated version (previously merged with karevkid's map) with others FWMF (version 1.8) paper maps i use in one merged plugin. And guess so? now it works flawlessly.

I don't know why this fixed the problem. I guess i will keep it this way, but thank you so much for being fast and helpful trying to solve my problem.

those miraculous (auto)fixes happen to Vortex mostly. or LOOT users. can't say for sure what is the reason. anyway, glad you got it sorted.

also, this map desperately needs a rework. soon (c)

Hello, thanks for this, but my Solstheim map just got worse, and I haven't noticed any conflict, all markers are in the wrong position, what could it be? (Using the traditional maps)

that means old mesh is not actually overwritten, just textures. for a starters, try interior cell save. then check out left panel load order that update actually below the main mod and integrity of updates download.

I've checked update to this map on both 1.7 and 1.82, on 1.6.640 Skyrim, everything is fine.

in worst case scenario stick to default map.

you can check out Images, there are screenshots for both Solstheim ans Skyrim, markers are aligned much better than with original mesh, especially around the map edges.

you definately have some issues on your side, mb very old FWMF FOMOD installed, mb smth else. I need to know more about your setup to help.
