Parallax has a few basic requirements. You also need a few other mods: a dynamic snow mod like Better Dynamic Snow 2.11 - Definitive Edition, as well as the bug fix mods Terrain Parallax Blending Fix and SSE Engine Fixes. You can choose between ENBSeries or Community Shaders for the shader features that enable parallax. Remember to disable the vanilla snow shader (bEnableImprovedSnow=0) and enable land shadows (bDrawLandShadows=1) in SkyrimPrefs.ini, these changes are required for parallax. These should be all you need for it to at least work correctly, and you can build up your mod choices from there.
Hey devikyn, how did you create parallax meshes? I am using ParallaxGen and usually it is recommended for meshes to be generated by that tool and to just provide textures.
After searching for a solution to a problem I was having for many hours, the Terrain Parallax Blending Fix in this mod; solved it. In Sky Haven Temple, I was getting faded purple textures around the edge of the room with the giant face in it. Coincidentally, I came to this mod to fix the problem I was having with imperialjaildoors textures/meshes not being touched by any other re-texture mod I tried; which this also fixed (well not this complex parallax addon, but the main Underground mod). So I killed two birds with one stone with this, thank you!
I rly like dark interiors, like pitch black. The thing is i love this mod, but one thing is bothering me too much - there is a part of the texture that is bright enough in the dark that is standing out.

Idont know but something is wrong in 1.4.1. I customize install only dwemer and imperial but it conflicted more than ever with other mesh like caves, mesh with FYX mod etc etc when I didn't choose caves in the fomod
Nothing is wrong, it contains all possible meshes that use Underground textures with parallax enabled. You can let your other mods win if you want them to.
yeah i think thats the thing thats happening here , this mod does not just install the same Meshes that Underground installs but parallaxed , it also installs a lot of Vanilla Parallaxed Meshes that make use of Underground Txtures. So it conflicts with not yet parallaxed SMIM and not yet parallaxed Ruins Clutter Improved. Because of Installation / Overwrite order you want Underground Textures to overwrite SMIM and RCI Textures , but you want the Meshes to lose this conflict. But this in fact is already an issue with normal Underground that already comes with SMIM textures but uses Vanilla Meshes itself instead of the SMIM ones. So will just hide or remove them. Alternatively you could provide a SMIM / RCI Parallaxed Meshes / Textures Patch for the conflicting Meshes. But in any case , good job and thanks for your hard work , very much appreciated. ^^
EDIT : Yeah no nvm , after i installed a few more mods i came back to this mod to reinstall it with only Nordic and Apocrypha since thats all i need , and it still installs a bunch of Dwemer Meshes that i dont want. Something in the FOMOD is not setup correctly.
It's not wrong, all of the included meshes use textures from Underground. There are a lot of them, so feel free to hide the ones you don't want to use. If I have time, I'll add the SMIM meshes that Underground has textures for in an update.

If we install the new Complex Parallax Materials as part of the Community Shaders 0.8 update, should we still have this mod active, or does the other parallax mod duplicate what this mod is doing?
You should still use this mod! Complex Parallax Materials is an alternative to ENBSeries, both of them enable the parallax feature but not the textures. This mod provides the textures needed.
it seems theres something missing in the textures or meshes of the dwemer rubble that are covered by snow outside which makes them appear black and shiny

In short, the floor is supposed to look like wood and it looks like anything but wood. It's completely broken, and it's not just something in my load order. Looking at the actual nif, you can see the floorboards are completely messed up. Any chance to fix this?

nifskope doesn't support complex parallax, only the old basic parallax which always looks like this where there are high-frequency details. It won't look the same as it does in-game, complex parallax doesn't produce this warping effect. You can try reducing the contrast of rottingwood01_p.dds to your liking, but this was intentional - the rotting wood normal map has these high-frequency bumps, because the wood is meant to be swollen and splintering.
Well that's exactly what it looks like in game. All other parallax works fine, it's just this mod in this particular spot that looks bad. Everything else is great, and I'd love to keep using this mod. But it's literally this mod causing it to look that bad as far as I can tell.
