    Hi drengin,

First of all, let me say I use all of your mods and that they are of incomparable quality. I really love your take on Skyrim and specifically Solitude.
I just wanted to let you know that a very popular mod, Seasonal Landscapes,  needs a patch for all your vanilla house reworks because it duplicates the vanilla meshes for solitude houses and walls to change the ivy for autumn and winter with a different folder path. Not saying you have to do it, just really for info in case people ask.

Yeah, the problem with Seasons is that it's incompatible with new things. I don't use this mod, I don't know how to make compatible meshes for it. The first thing that comes to mind is why are models edited at all? Since they only change texture paths, is it possible to use a Texture Set to avoid model editing?

I think mesh editing is necessary for swapping things between seasons, I think that's how the framework works.

Edit : from the mod's page

      • Seasonal changes require a config file, with season identifier, containing form swaps, to be present in Data/Seasons folder (MyMod_[WIN/SPR/SUM/AUT].ini).
      • Any one of the following form types can be swapped (Land Texture, Activator, Furniture, Movable Static, Static, Tree, Grass, Flora).

I want to reiterate the comment below-- this is the only mod that's gotten around the disappearing Bryling's house that loads of people are reporting but nobody seems to have a fix for.

    Thank you!!!!

At random times, the house would completely disappear for me. The bug's very similar to the one mentioned here. It never happened to me before, until I installed this mod. It also seems to happen only if I approach the house a certain way from the entrance. If I just teleport to it from the main menu, it looks fine.

    Anyone else encountered this?

Did you try to add the bit27 flag to the main fade node ? That's the main difference I saw with the vanilla mesh structure.

I doubt that the state of this flag has any meaning. The exporter sets the flags value to 524302, I don't change it. I don't know what bit27 is for, I suspect it's LE legacy and not used in SSE. It seems that in LE it is only used in BSLODTriShape and in BSFadeNode if it has BSLODTriShape children.

Here it says it's an issue with ELFX and can be solved by hiding a mesh https://old.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/8so5gx/brylings_house_has_disappeared/e2pigah/

      This solution can't work.
My mod is a replacement for the SBryling House.nif mesh, when installing it you must overwrite the broken mesh from ELFX.

Hi Drengin. I always feel that solitude is not big enough as a capital. I wonder if you could make a mod that adds a large plaza-like area in
solitude so it feels very majestic, like Rome or Constantinople. If
there is a big open plaza area then the city would look amazing!

The area of Constantinople enclosed within Theodosian Walls is 14 km^2. Are you realy sure this huge city will fit in Skyrim?

About the only aspect of this I don't care for is the tall "chimney". I think the texture should have remained similarly patterned, i.e. overlapping blocks all the way up, instead of sections where they rise one on top of the other. Pretty sure I've never seen masonry work like that before since it creates weak points or avenues for faults/cracks to follow. But I'm no expert and apparently extra nitpicky this morning.
Otherwise, very nice work. And I don't mean to come across as someone bashing on your work because I like what you have better done than the original. I'm just pointing out what I see. If I notice it then someone else is sure to. Just ask my wife. I'm not very observant. I don't listen... blahblahblah...

You are mistaken, this type of Brickwork is used, it is called Block bond. A combination of the stretcher and stack bond. Usually two courses are laid in stack bond and the next two courses are laid while staggering by half a brick. Occasionally make more courses.

Well, then... I stand corrected. I guess I've never seen it before. Or thought to look for it. I don't spend much of my time checking out chimneys, but I suppose you've done your research and due diligence. Or you're a mason. :) Otherwise you wouldn't have done it. Then nice job all around. I'll just finish eating this humble pie...

I would like to rework the rest of the houses in the same way. I'll no longer post each house separately, I will make a bundle with all existing ones included. Some day.

Very much appreciated yeoman's work that I hope reminds the Bethesda modelers working on another game that there is more talent out in the modder community than they ever could afford to hire.

I think that's a little harsh considering the base model was probably made in ~2010 with a set time and video memory budget.
Does look very nice though well done Drengin. Just glancing over the house as a whole it feels slightly more developed and likeable.

Yeah, this is the era of the PlayStation 3. For their time, the models are made very well. With all due respect to the modding community, it is unfair to scold the developers of a game that has remained popular for so many years.
