Mod Overview:

As of version 4.00, I have completely overhauled my overhaul. Suits have been made fully functional, relatively speaking.

This mod adds Samus Aran's power suits from the Metroid series, along with spells inspired by her beam weapons and other abilities (mostly
from the Prime games)

Thanks to some simple vanilla scripts, equipping the main chest piece of each armor set will give the
corresponding ability. For example, wearing the chest piece of the
Phazon suit gives you the Phazon suit's abilities. Why did I use scripts
instead of enchantments? Not only was it easier, but also this way, you
can still enchant these!

Be sure to read the details closely, you WILL need to follow some steps for installation.

Notable changes since version 3:
  • Added scripts to the suits that emulate the suit abilities. They don't just look cool!
  • Changing beams to be more reminiscent of the Prime games rather than the 2d
  • Changed all files to ESL format (there's the option anyway) so it takes no slot in your load order
  • And more!

Spells:
Power beam: Concentrated non-elemental spell, projectiles move a little slow, have shorter range, but the spell is free to cast. 16 damage per second.

Ice beam: Deals 60 damage after a fairly long charge, and freezes opponents solid for 5 minutes (uses the mora's grasp script)

Wave beam: Fires wide arcs of energy that deal 70 electrical damage per second in a large area. Less range than most beams though.

Plasma beam: Rapid fire, long range, very high velocity fireball that cannot be resisted and deals around 300 damage

Super Missile: Very costly lesser power, makes a 3,000 point explosion with a 22 feet (7 meter) radius. Enemy armor will reduce the damage taken, but this is still OP as it should be. Also sends enemies flying.

Suit Powers:
Scan visor: Sends out a pulse to detect enemies through walls for a few seconds.

Screwattack:
Causes you to move much faster and deal shock damage to nearby enemies, for a brief time.

Power Suit abilities:
Varia Suit:
  • 12% movement speed and jump height boost
  • 20% resist magic
  • 50% fire resist
  • 50% disease resist
  • 80% poison resist
  • +150 armor
  • Fall damage immunity

Gravity suit:
  • 20% movement speed and jump height boost
  • 35% resist magic
  • 60% fire, frost, shock, and disease resist
  • 90% poison resist
  • +300 armor
  • Waterbreathing
  • Fall damage immunity

Phazon suit:
  • 35% movement speed and jump height boost
  • 50% resist magic
  • 70% fire, frost, and shock resist
  • 100% poison and disease resist
  • +50 health
  • +600 armor

  • Fall damage immunity

Fusion Suit:
  • 35% movement speed and jump height boost
  • 35% attack speed multiplier
  • +30% sneak skill and sneaking modifier
  • 20% magic, fire, and shock resist
  • 60% poison and disease resist

  • Muffled footsteps
  • Waterbreathing
  • Fall damage immunity

Obtaining suits:
Add these spells via console command, the AddItem Menu, or they can also be found in Delphine's Basement chest, if you can't use those methods (like an Xbox or PS4 player).

Energy Tanks:
Version 4.1 and onward has energy tanks, sold by Eorlund Grey-Mane in Whiterun. These are spell tomes that, once used, grant permanent stat boosts. Available stats include health, magicka, stamina, carry weight, magic absorption, jump height, and movement speed (among other things)

Every "energy tank" can stack, which means that you could use dozens of them to, for example, gain full absorption to magic. The stat buffs will not appear in your magic effects menu, so as to reduce clutter. You can view your total stats with a mod like TDG's Character Sheet

I probably won't be doing much more with this stat boosting system because plenty of mods already do this, you could also use console commands, and the world of Skyrim would not be as good for hiding upgrades as an actual Metroid game.

Requirements:
None
(except base game and DLC of course, everything that SE and AE would have)

Incompatibilities:
Shouldn't be any, unless you use another mod that alters Delphine's chest. Err...
not that kind. I made custom projectiles and magic effects, so even if
you have vanilla spells changed, these SHOULD be fine. This should also be safe to use on both Skyrim SE and AE versions.

Installation:
Install manually, or with your preferred mod manager. That's it, you should be good to go.

Future Plans:
I may be adding a proper arm cannon that can be worn, if I can either figure out how to make a good one in Blender, or someone else offers me some assistance with that.

Enemies like changing Alduin into Ridley may also happen.

Things I won't add:

The charge beam, while extremely iconic, won't be added. I want to give it a tractor beam effect to pull things in, like it had in Metroid Prime, but unfortunately I can't figure out how. I'm only going to do something if I actually think I can do it well.

Previously I also had the Metroid Prime 2 beams, but I probably won't bring them back into the mod due to the immense effort (comparatively for my skill level) it takes to produce even a few decent spells. The MP2 spells felt redundant in here. Besides, there's other magic mods most players probably use already.

FAQ:

Q: Can I use your assets for X?
A: Normally I would allow anyone to do whatever with my mods, however this one is using someone else's assets (Varia, Gravity, and Phazon suits) from an old Skyrim LE mod, that I got permission to use. So no, I cannot give anyone permission to use this mod for anything else.

Q: Are these enchantable?
A: Yes! All of the armor should be enchantable, since it applies effects with simple scripts.

Q: Armor isn't visible on my player?
A: You will need to follow the installation guide. If you did and things still aren't working, I can try solving the issue with enough information (and motivation)

Q: What's with the Phazon Suit shimmer?
A: That little visual effect is intentional. In Metroid Prime, that suit has a distortion effect surrounding it, and I wanted to recreate that.
