About this mod

Adjusts the look and feel of Skyrim's weathers to feel more cold and desolate, just as they were in 2011. No more tropical blue sky or overly bright nights.

Overview
I never liked how Bethesda cranked up the saturation for the SE weathers, I felt that they really undermined the very deliberate tone that the artists achieved in the original release of the game. I understand that the grey, desaturated palette isn't to everyone's taste, but the bright blue skies and intensely lit nighttime of SE were just too much for me.

This is a fairly conservative weather mod that aims to bring back some of that cold and desaturated feel into back into Skyrim SE's weathers. The vast
majority of weathers have simply been reverted to how they were in the original release, albeit with some minor tweaks here and there that I thought were appropriate. Sunrise/sunset intensities are mostly unchanged. Soul Cairn weathers are untouched. I was also careful to ensure that SE's volumetric lighting effect remained intact without letting it intrude too much on the adjusted weathers.

These mods are very similar in their objectives:

If you are looking for a faithful implementation of the original weathers, then I would recommend either of those. However, I was not satisfied with their handling of the volumetric lighting, either leaving them untouched or disabling them entirely, hence my creation of this mod.

Compatibility & Permissions
Classic Weathers is not compatible with mods that modify weather, including mods that change the brightness of nights or add/change sun glare effects. However, you are free to make patches for any mod that you see fit and upload them. You are also free to tweak this mod to your liking and upload it if you are so inclined.

I have included a compatibility patch for Cresty's Distant Mists as an optional file. Be sure to disable the other patch plugins that come with that mod before installing.
