I sincerely apologize to anyone who has the black / gray face bug, fix has been uploaded and is now available
please be aware that this is the SPECIAL EDITION version of this mod which will NOT work on the original version of Skyrim for that version you need this - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49046/?
There are 3 versions that you can use for your game depending on how you want Katria to look
1) Katria as a Nord - needs main file AND black face fix file 2) Katria Redguard - use Redguard only stand alone file 3) Katria Ghost- She comes back as a ghost still - use KatriaAlive Ghost Edition only stand alone file
The black face fix is only to be used for the NORD version, it will NOT work for the redguard or ghost version
Do NOT use multiple versions, each one listed is stand alone and does NOT require the others
First, thank you for taking the time to convert this mod over to SE. It's been really delightful getting to have my old partner Katria around again.
I downloaded the file for the ghost version, and it seems to be working just fine, except there appears to be no marriage option. From the way I read the description, it seemed like you should be able to marry her as a ghost. I've covered all the usual bases, talked with Maramal in Riften, even bought my Mara amulet off him. I've tried dismissing her as a follower and then talking to her. I also reloaded a previous save, before she became my steward, just to make sure that wasn't causing any issues, but there's no dialogue option when I go to talk to her with the amulet on. Any ideas?
Thank you for your time, and thanks again for the great mod!
I did absolutely nothing to any thing in the mod itself. The only thing i did was convert it. This should be addressed to the original mod author as I know nothing about quests or script coding.
I had the same problem and upon reading the original mods description I found that the ghost version is not marriable. One workaround that seems to work is to download the living version and then give her an item enchanted with "Ghostveil," the effect of the "Philter of the Phantom" you find in Shroud Hearth Barrow.
The way to get it is to enter the following in the console: playerenchantobject <objectID> 103647 The <objectID> can be found by typing - help <part of item name> - in the console, without dashes ofcourse. I recommend an amulet or ring, as I had already used for my own character. With the mod "Adopt Helgi's Ghost" I can now have a ghost family.
I deactivated the ghost version of this mod and installed the nord version. I haven't gotten to the wedding itself yet, but so far so good.
Love the idea of this mod. After loading it into my LO, Vortex/Loot is giving a message saying the blackface file has ALL of the info included in the MAIN file and is overwriting everything in the main dl file. Therefore, it suggests disabling and removing the "redundant" main file. Thought I would ask first before running a test to see if deleting the main file crashes or removes needed Katria textures. We haven't raised the entry tower, would hate to do the whole forge deal just to find out if Katria is purple, invisible, or black faced and then have to go back to the save and do it all again after re-enabling the main file again. Thank you for the mod, and hopefully a response, since it's been a year since anyone commented here.
I, too, get a warning from Vortex that Katria Follower is made completely redundant by the Katria Black Face Fix. I just tried disabling the main mod itself and leaving ONLY the blackface fix enabled, and didn't see any problems. I then went back and replayed a save from the Aetherium Forge, and reviving Katria went without issues -- with the exception of the previously noted issue of Katria's New Journal not being found. Then I went back again, disabled the blackface fix, re-enabled the main mod, and loaded from the same save again. Still no journal to be found, I still had to use the console to spawn it in, but once spawned, it went without a hitch, and she did not have blackface.
So:
It looks as though you need ONLY EITHER the main mod, OR the blackface fix version, YOU DON'T NEED BOTH.
You probably don't need to use the blackface fix version UNLESS she appears with blackface, particularly if you already have another blackface fix mod installed such as Face Discoloration Fix SE, which you probably should have installed ANYWAY because it fixes ALL THE OTHER blackface bugs as well, including the commonly encountered Dawnguard Volkihar vampire blackface issue (except for the weird infestation of bards that you sometimes get right after first purchasing Proudspire Manor).
EXPECT THE NEW JOURNAL TO BE MISSING in 1.6.1170. Use the console to spawn it in. 'help katria' in the console will give you the mod's loaded ID; look for the FOURTH Katria NPC_. the one whose mod ID is not 02, then 'player.additem xx002F9B 1' where xx is that mod ID. Read the new journal, boom, done, she's yours.
Note that even before you marry her, some mods (I'm Glad You're Here for example) may think she is already your spouse and give you spouse dialog options for her.
A suggestion if anyone wanted to go over this again and rework it a bit more immersively ...
Honestly, the truth is, NONE of the three items you can make with the Aetherium Forge are all that useful. The only one that's actually generally useful to all classes is the Aetherium Crown (or is it Crest? I forget), and even that, I made, stuck it in my safe, and forgot it exists, because you can't wear it and a helm at the same time which means you can't get any of the full-matching-armor-set perks.
So here's how I'd want to do it in my internal head-canon.
You're at the Aetherium Forge looking at the items you can make. "You know, none of these really seem very useful or important to me. But if the forge can make these ... maybe it can make something else, if I can figure out how."
You find a way to tell the Forge, "I need to make a necklace or amulet, which will need to be half-ethereal itself ... so that it can be put on a disembodied spirit ... that will resurrect a dead person if it is put on them." 'WITHOUT A BODY, IT WILL ONLY WORK ONCE.' "Once is all I need."
Whereupon you craft the, uh, not sure what to call it, Aetherium Remedy or something, and turn to Katria, who gives her "fantastic, my task is done, I'm off now, bye" speech "WAIT!!! ...Don't go yet. One last thing before you go. This should be yours. Let me put it on you. I made it for you." [you put the amulet on her, and it resurrects her] "Wait. How...? You ... you used the Forge to bring me back? Why? You could have had an aetherium artifact for yourself!" "I looked at the things that the Forge could make with that little Aetherium, and I decided that of all of the things I might possibly do with it, this was the most important and precious one. You deserve a second chance at life."
This is fantastic and now I want it! because yes the three items are generally not great except the crown and if I wanted to display any id just spawn in the other two to complete the set.
Another minor change id make to this mod as it is is if you could somehow apply the ghost voice effect to the default voice over the follower currently has.
I loaded this mod on SE version, Steam Workshop, after completing the quest and Katria disappeared. The mod is loaded and enabled. I cannot find the new journal, looked all over and the screenshot locations. I have rebooted game, exited and entered the ruin. Help!
I couldn't find the journal at first either. My tip is to look on either side of the forge. The picture shows the journal on the left, for me it was on the right of the forge :)
I had the same problem. I meticulously searched every square inch of the Forge, and the New Journal was just not there. I had to spawn it in using the console. Once I had and read the journal, one more quick look around the forge room, and there she was.
That said, as a follower, she is very vanilla and knows nothing about her past adventures, which ... is a big disappointment, honestly. I wanted to be able to talk to her about her travails, and tell her something like, "The job wasn't complete until I figured out a way to bring you back." It'd be fantastic to be able to tell her before she vanishes for the last time, "Katria, I swear I will not rest until I find a way to bring you back." I had mental images of giving her back her bow -- "Zephyr! My bow! You found it!" "Yes. I looked after it for you. And I've cleaned it, and tuned it up a bit for you."
I guess all these interactions will just have to live in my internal head-canon for now.
If you can't find the journal and you're inexperienced with the console, go to the console and 'help katria'. You should see three NPC_ lines: 02004D0C, 02004D7D, and (xx)002FA1. The first two are her vanilla body and ghost. The third is the new resurrected Katria, and the xx (in my case it was 1E) is the mod's loaded ID. Now that you know that, just 'player.additem xx002F9B 1'. Boom, you now have the journal.
Hello! I had Katria ghost version, but when I uninstalled Summer Skyrim HD, Katroia turned in her human version, and no way to get her back as a ghost. Any suggestions how to make her back ghostly?

You have a mod conflict some where. Try using the mod UFO - Ultimate follower overhaul
I'm in the same boat but also want a patch for Ghost Mechanics and Shaders restored lol
