If you notice an issue with the textures on the Saints and Seducers purple and green butterfly wing ingredients, please make sure you've installed Butterfly Improved by zzjay alongside this mod. That's the main mod, not the Saints and Seducers patch from that page. I'll upload a fix for this issue soon that won't require any further downloads.
Update September 22nd '24
Hi everyone! Update 1.1 now includes the green and purple butterflies from CC Saints and Seducers. The 2K and 1K versions are both updated. Sorry it's taken a while to get these updated, I spent a lot of time trying to fix a bug with the update that turned out to not be a bug at all and was actually caused by another patch for Saints and Seducers. Yep, even us relatively experienced modders go around in circles for hours some times!
Update June 12th '23.
I've uploaded a patch for Lepidoptera that gives the added butterflies Better Butterflies bodies and shell textures the moths as in my Fluffy Moths mod. Lepidoptera Better Butterflies and Fluffy Moths Patch. I know it's been a while coming, and thank you for your patience while we worked on it. The main of the patch was created by lednight and so please give them some kudos for their hard work.
Update 2/6/23: I've added an optional Monarch in one of The Milk Drinker's excellent new jars. I've also added wiseman303's fix for the wings. Be sure to check out The Milk Drinker's full mod TMD Jars of Skyrim and give them and Wiseman303 some kudos.
Update: We made the hot files! Thanks so much to all of you who've downloaded and endorsed the mod!
Update: Added Better Butterflies Monarch in a jar. I've also improved the jar so it's a little more rounded (see pic). Install this after the main mod. Enjoy!
I have the unexpected privilege of dating an entomologist, and when they saw this mod they complained that, like nearly every depiction of a butterfly, all of these butterflies are dead. "Oh, dead butterfly! Dead butterfly! Dead butterfly!" were their words when I walked over to a group of them flying around.
I learned that apparently when actually alive, butterflies hold their wings in an overlapping formation with a fairly straight leading edge that spans both forward wings and the head, like so:

This wing formation is used during flight:

Apparently the position of the upper wings in a way in which they are raised significantly above the head is only observed on dead bodies of butterflies - which is admittedly how they are most definitively observed, but led to a bit of a misconception it seems about how they hold themselves while still alive.
I am not sure if its this mod but the green and purple butterfly seem to not be showing in my game anymore ; w ; would it be cool to have the CC butterflies patched also <3
Which butterflies are added by the CC? I can't take a look at the minute as I'm snowed under with other mods, but I might be able to do something about them in the future.
Hi do you have a TMD jar patch without the enb requirement??
I also use https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/130636 (non enb tmd file) because if I load it under the better monarch butterfly in a jar it makes It redundant T_T
These look lovely. However, I think 2K textures for something this size is way overkill. There's asset optimizers of course, but at least a 1K version would be nice to have as an option.

I wish for a corrected mesh now.

I only use your mod for the butterflies
the butterflies that are added is Green and Purple Butterflies from the Saint and Seducers CC pack
