    End of support

I've put a couple thousand hours into HB, and I feel like it's pretty much done.

It has a few lingering bugs, but for the most part these are mod compatibility issues. It has a few unfinished and unpolished features, like Soups and Stews. Most mods do.

I'd like to get 1.6.3 released at some point to address Hunting in Skyrim compatibility. No promises.

I'm working on adding SKSE and MCM support but as a solo modder taking care of two followers and working full time at the Dead Man's Drink to pay off my bounties I can't provide any kind of release date.

My best advice for troubleshooting is: Read the manual. Learn to use xEdit. Uninstall and reinstall using NMM.

I will try to drop by from time to time to answer posts. No promises.

    Cheers,
    unuroboros

The version available here doesn't even require SKSE, so it's 100% compatible out-of-the-box. If you''re using the Hunterborn SE MCM version, that should be compatible as well, as long as you first grab the SKSE Preliminary AE build. We'll be looking at adding support for Creation Club content in a future update.

If you use the Hunterborn MCM linked the post above, there are some presets in the MCM which will adjust the value of pelts globally.

If you want to adjust the values of individual pelts, they're contained in the DefaultPeltValues array in the _DS_Hunterborn quest, which can be edited in SSEEdit.

    Absolutely love this mod!

The only issue I've come across is that primitive cooking doesn't include a lot of common meats: I can't cook wolf or deer with it, so my poor iNeed nord is having to choose between mammoth or fox out in the wilds and ignore the ton of raw sabrecat shanks in his pocket. Are there any patches or other mods that fill in the gaps?

EDIT: Just found a mod Simple Portable Cooking that might be able to replace the primitive cooking feature entirely!

There's Primitive Cooking recipes for those meats. The only reason I can think of that they wouldn't appear is if you're using CACO; in that instance, Hunterborn disables some of its recipes in favour of alternate versions in the Hunterborn CACO patch from kryptopyr's Patch Hub.

Not using CACO. Recipes for deer, wolf, horker, goat, etc. just don't show up: https://imgur.com/k5GCGoj :(

I'll have to do some testing then; some of the Primitive Cooking recipes appear to have their crafted item distributed to them via, and it's not immediately apparent where in the scripts that's occurring.

Hi, would it be ok to port Hunterborn to Xbox? It's there already, but the porter changed the esp name making it a nightmare for porting patches!

    Many thanks

Having two versions of Hunterborn on Xbox would potentially be very confusing. Is there any possibility of convincing the original porter to revert the file name? Barring that, while not ideal, Wrye Bash should be able to change the master for any patches to whatever the file is now called (prior to porting the patches, of course).

Apologies for missing this reply! I'll see if I can contact the previous porter and suggest changing to the correct esp name. We are used to having multiple versions of things on Xbox, as generally we've got better at optimising and packing .bsas in a more efficient way as the years have gone by (space is the big enemy on Xbox with a 5gb cap). I could also port an 'optimised' version for about half the size of the current one if that would help to distinguish it, including an MCMish menu (we have to rewrite these for Xbox as SkyUI doesn't work). Will wait to hear what you think, and will reach out to previous porter in the meantime. Have a great day!

Sure, if the previous porter doesn't respond or won't change the name, go for it. I think an "optimised" version would be a good way to distinguish it from the other versions. If you do go that route, could I ask you to also port the Soups and Stew modules (and any other patches you think are relevant; someone a few comments down was asking after an Xbox version of it.

HAS ANYONE HAD THE MCM NOT REGISTER HUNTERBORN???

I don't understand why it won't show up. It's installed correctly. I recently switched from LE to SE and this kinda killing me. I must have Hunterborn!

As the Soups and Stews module requires the main mod, I'd suggest reaching out to the individual who ported the existing Xbox version of Hunterborn.

If there's any future update, could you please add a mod menu option that disabled the ability to pick up any carcasses? I understand it's okay to pick up a rabbit or chicken, getting a bit weird with single handedly picking up a whole deer or stag, but being able to pick up entire mammoths is just plain weird.

No guarantees that we'll be able to add an option for that, but I do agree in principle with you (particularly about the mammoths), so we'll see what we can do.

Just wondering, is there any kind of guide available for this mod, there are a number of things that are unclear to me and I'm not sure how to get the answers. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

      Yes, the download includes two text files which explain in detail the workings of the mod;
Hunterborn Readme.txt and Hunterborn Tips and Spoilers.txt.
Hope that helps and you enjoy the mod. Happy hunting.

I'm having an issue when i have the mod enabled it wont let me loot a human body. its works great for creatures, but with a human body it doesn't even come up with a prompt to interact with a human body to loot or otherwise. When i disable it i am able to interact with them again but i really want this mod to work. so unless i can find a fix for this i will have to keep it disabled witch is unfortunate.

Edit: my mistake it is a issue with forbidden pray not hunterborn

You can use the Scavenging ability to clean them off and turn them into useful stuff.
