Also you might consider offering this as a patch instead of a complete replacer out of courtesy of the original author. That would allow others to create patches that work alongside yours. Otherwise this is nice work!
Hi pinkfluffyu and Glanzer! Thanks for your feedback! Yes I do consider that line kind of odd, I will rewrite it. Do you have other input on the other lines? So I can change them in one go.
Glanzer, this is a patch, yes. There's no script in this mod. You still require the original mod for the script to trigger the notification. The .esps are all dialogues.
No, your "patch" is a replacer ESP, meaning that you've included all the records you're not changing and you've named the ESP the same as the original name. You need to forward only the records you're changing into a new ESP (with a different name) that references the original as a master. The way you've done it prevents anyone from also providing their own patch because you can't have both ESPs active at the same time because their names are the same. See here how to make a patch.
Oooh I get what you're saying now. I see. I might consider making this a patch, although in that case someone else can load my mod before their patches (so they'll be patching my mod instead of the original). I also got a request on Reddit to make this completely standalone, but I think it's more ethical requiring the original.
That's not quite how it works, as the UI changes is in the same strings as the text changes (it's just text with HTML font styling), so I'm afraid that can't be done.
And no, I know about putting the original as master. I was saying if someone want to both patch the original and use my mod, they might as well patch my version instead. Set my mod as the master of their patches. At least that's what I think.
Hey everyone. Just letting you know that following your feedback, I've rewritten most dialogues (also, I've made this a patch instead). Now it says e.g. "Alvor now considers you a friend."
This is not an SKSE mod, so it should work in any version. 1.6.6 or 1.5.79, doesn't matter. If it doesn't work something else is interfering this mod... make sure you overwrite the original mod with my mod.
Do I need skyHUD fo it to work? I've installed (including the addon) but the info don't appear when I talk to NPCs, but If I rank up relationship I still get the notification as per your mod
No, you don't need SkyHUD installed. In lieu of more detailed info I'm going to ask some basic questions: are both plugins activated in your load order? Do you think you have other mods that trigger scripts when you talk to an NPC?
Well I do have relationship dialogue overhaul, I don't know if it has scripts but it affect dialogue. both plugins are activated.
I searched a little and discovered I didn't have the optional file for Relationship change notification, the one who shows the relationship status one NPC activation. I added it and activated, but your version of the text did not appear, only the original. Maybe I should reinstall your mod now that I added the optional file?
Oh I thought you already had both files given that it's on your download history (mod authors can see whether someone has downloaded the required files). Yeah of course you need both the original files. And you have to make sure that my mod overwrites the original. You can try reinstalling.
Hey, sorry to be a pain, but how would I go about getting the notifications on the right like you do?
I have SkyHUD, I just don't know how to go about customising it or anything
If you have links to any information on how to achieve what you have, I would really appreciate sharing. However, if explaining how to do it is complex and you don't wanna for any reason, I understand.
Thanks for the mod, though! I've not tried it out yet but I'm looking forward to!
You can check SkyHUD's mod description. It says, So you should check your SkyHUD directory and find the skyhud.txt. Just right click the mod on your mod manager and open its file location.
You can also find SkyHUD manual in the directories within that directory (interface\skyhud\manual). File name is SkyHUD Reference Manual 0.90B.pdf.
If you wanted my setting though, I have this in my skyhud.txt. Make sure to replace these lines to my version below. If you're confused make sure to check the manual I mentioned above. Hope it helps.
I like your change of notifications to be more natural and more readable. If it wouldn't be a problem, could you make an optional version where all notifications would be in 1st person?
Hi! If you wanted both functionalities, you should download both. They do different things, one is for relationship change, another is for relationship status.
Actually this mod is a guise to bring more attention to the original... j/k! Glad you enjoyed the mod! Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see.

"Alvor has bonded as your friend" instead of "Alvor is now my friend!"
I prefer "Alvor is now your friend". "Has bonded as" combo just sounds weird.

+1 for a patch with only the UI improvements without the change in strings

Est-ce que tu vas bientôt upgrader ta version ? Ton mod a vraiment l'air cool !

Sure thing, I could do a first person rewrite. Will do it in the next update, will take a few days given that I have an IRL deadline to catch.
